Opis:
An analysis of low-level feature space for emotion recognition from the speech is presented. The main goal was to determine how the statistical properties computed from contours of low-level features influence the emotion recognition from speech signals. We have conducted several experiments to reduce and tune our initial feature set and to configure the classification stage. In the process of analysis of the audio feature space, we have employed the univariate feature selection using the chi-squared test. Then, in the first stage of classification, a default set of parameters was selected for every classifier. For the classifier that obtained the best results with the default settings, the hyperparameter tuning using cross-validation was exploited. In the result, we compared the classification results for two different languages to find out the difference between emotional states expressed in spoken sentences. The results show that from an initial feature set containing 3198 attributes we have obtained the dimensionality reduction about 80% using feature selection algorithm. The most dominant attributes selected at this stage based on the mel and bark frequency scales filterbanks with its variability described mainly by variance, median absolute deviation and standard and average deviations. Finally, the classification accuracy using tuned SVM classifier was equal to 72.5% and 88.27% for emotional spoken sentences in Polish and German languages, respectively.

Opis:
The primary focus of this paper is to examine the way the emotional categories of “happiness” and “sadness” are expressed vocally in the reading aloud of prose. In particular, the two semantic categories were analysed in terms of the pitch level and the pitch variability on a corpus based on 28 works written by Charles Dickens. passages with the intended emotional colouring were selected and the fragments found in the corresponding audiobooks. They were then analysed acoustically in terms of the mean F0 and the standard deviation of F0. The results for individual emotional passages were compared with a particular reader’s mean pitch and standard deviation of pitch. The differences obtained in this way supported the initial assumptions that the pitch level and its standard deviation would raise in “happy” extracts but lower in “sad” ones. Nevertheless, not all of these tendencies could be statistically validated and additional examples taken from a selection of random novels by other nineteenth century writers were added. The statistical analysis of the larger samples confirmed the assumed tendencies but also indicated that the two semantic domains may utilise the acoustic parameters under discussion to varying degrees. While “happiness” tends to be signalled primarily by raising F0, “sadness” is communicated mostly by lowering the variability of F0. Changes in the variability of F0 seem to be of less importance in the former case, and shifts in the F0 level less significant in the latter.

Opis:
The article presents the issue of emotion recognition based on polish emotional speech analysis. The Polish database of emotional speech, prepared and shared by the Medical Electronics Division of the Lodz University of Technology, has been used for research. The following parameters extracted from sampled and normalised speech signal has been used for the analysis: energy of signal, speaker’s sex, average value of speech signal and both the minimum and maximum sample value for a given signal. As an emotional state a classifier fof our layers of artificial neural network has been used. The achieved results reach 50% of accuracy. Conducted researches focused on six emotional states: a neutral state, sadness, joy, anger, fear and boredom.

In this article the issue of emotion recognition based on Polish emotional speech signal analysis was presented. The Polish database of emotional speech, prepared and shared by the Medical Electronics Division of the Lodz University of Technology, has been used for research. Speech signal has been processed by Artificial Neural Networks (ANN). The inputs for ANN were information obtained from signal spectrogram. Researches were conducted for three different spectrogram divisions. The ANN consists of four layers but the number of neurons in each layer depends of spectrogram division. Conducted researches focused on six emotional states: a neutral state, sadness, joy, anger, fear and boredom. The averange effectiveness of emotions recognition was about 80%.

Opis:
The article focuses on the topic of psychomotor development of children attending forest kindergartens. Other authors’ research findings, showing the influence of nature on the functioning of children, were presented as a background and a reference point to the results of my own research. The research carried out in the Czech Republic and Germany, whose results indicate the development of children from local forest kindergartens, are presented in greater detail. The central part of the article is the presentation of the resultsof own research concerning the psychomotor development of children attending forest kindergartens in Poland. The research demonstrates that children who attend the said forest kindergartens vary in terms of their psychomotor development, however, in most cases their development does not deviate from the indicative norm. Therefore, forest kindergartens create conditions for children’s proper psychomotor development.
Artykuł koncentruje się wokół tematu rozwoju psychoruchowego dzieci uczęszczających do leśnych przedszkoli. Jako tło i punkt odniesienia do wyników badań własnych zostały zaprezentowane wyniki badań innych autorów, ukazujące wpływ przyrody na funkcjonowanie dzieci. Szerzej przedstawiono wyniki badań przeprowadzonych w Czechach i Niemczech, ukazujących rozwój dzieci z tamtejszych leśnych przedszkoli. Centralną część tekstu stanowi prezentacja wyników badań własnych, dotyczących rozwoju psychoruchowego dzieci uczęszczających do leśnych przedszkoli w Polsce. Leśne przedszkola stwarzają warunki do prawidłowego rozwoju psychoruchowego dzieci.
