Why you need a teacher in high school, just as the carrier and transmitter of information? But it is in this capacity he is much inferior to many other sources of information such as books and computers. Higher education institution serves not only and may be not so much for the transfer specialized knowledge but for the development and reproduction of specific cultural group, the most important element of which is itself a specialist. He is characterized as a representative of a particular culture not only a specific set of knowledge and skills, but also a certain worldview, life attitudes and values, especially the of professional conduct and others. So the teacher not only sends the student knowledge and professional skills, and attaches it to a specific culture, and that this culture was developed and reproduced needed live people, live human communication. This truth more than a hundred years ago formulated by K. D. Ushinsky: “Only a person can act on the development and definition of personality, only nature can be used to form the character” [Ушинский 1984: 78–83].

The article evaluates the ways of resocialization treatment by court-appointed guardians. The theoretical introduction contains a short analysis of the mixed model of probation for adults and determinant factors of resocialization activities in the work with people whose criminal derailment is connected with risk factors and alcohol-related problems. In the empirical part the self-perception of direct resocialization treatment by court-appointed guardians is presented. The information is unique in the context of current one-way analyses of the work of court-appointed guardians based mainly on the evaluation of entries in worksheets filled by the guardians themselves.

Opis:
One of the main aspects of educational reform in Bulgaria is the introduction of information and communication technologies to educational process. This article discusses issues associated with the usage of new technologies in primary school. Management of pedagogical process of students from first to fourth grade has its own specifics, and working with information and communication technologies increases the ability of the teachers to expand and enrich their pedagogical methods and tools to achieve effective results at the end of the learning process. The article gives a brief overview of some of the latest technologies offered to primary teachers, such as multipoint technology with software ‘Envision’ and ‘Mouse Mischief’, and Kinect technology creating the new type of interaction between man and computer. It also brings up the need to develop a new methodology of working with information and communication technologies. Multipoint technology has a huge impact on the acquisition of non-technological skills. Methodological training of teachers should focus on the possibility to combine the appropriate use of multipoint technology in the construction of non-technological skills. Such methodological development would be a significant achievement in modern Bulgarian primary education.

The general problems of the Hungarian education system surface in the higher education sphere as well. Instructors frequently note the knowledge, skill, and competence-related deficien-cies of newly enrolled students. Additional difficulties are posed by the lack of motivation or the low level of interest toward learning. Furthermore, the prevalence of traditional educational meth-ods, the lectures designed for a large student audience and similarly structured seminars tend to exacerbate the problem. Students do not prepare for classes or strive to increase their knowledge via independent work and active in-class participation. Consequently new methods are needed for increasing the efficiency of the educational process, along with the enhancement of internal moti-vation and the promotion of subject-related interest.

Globalisation in education sector, intense competition between universities in Latvia, increase in requirements of applied teaching from private companies, growing exactingness from students – it all makes base to improve University curricula using different active teaching techniques for better knowledge capture. In the case study of University of Latvia tourism study programme authors included practice of active teaching method application used to improve student understanding and competences including research, surveys, observations, shadowing, monitoring and register of the tourist tracks, expert interviews and industry seminars, discussions and interviews with industry stakeholders, field trips, different tourism sector enterprise and organisation visits inspections, colloquiums, research result presentations in seminars and conferences, knowledge enhancing for sustainability, best practices and systems used by other countries. Many of active learning methods are as additional activities for students not included in the compulsory part of studies, therefore it is needed to establish an additional separate entity for tourism and sustainability activities for applied teaching and research at university – Tourism and Sustainability Research Laboratory. Separate research entity gives possibility to involve interested students from different study programmes and cooperation with other faculties.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The aim of the article is to present the results of the analysis of the education level in the European Union countries and to verify the relationship between the education and the economic growth of the studied countries. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The basic problem of this publication is quantitative and comparative analysis of the level of education in the European Union countries (EU27). Research methods used in the paper are the analysis and synthesis of the literature on the subject as well as quantitative analysis of the education using statistical and taxonomic tools (descriptive statistics, cluster analysis, taxonomic measure of education [TME]). An analysis of regression and correlation is also conducted to investigate the relationship between education and economic growth. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The line of reasoning consists of three essential elements. The first part presents the issues of education and economic growth in the light of the theory. This is a selective review of literature. The second part contains a comprehensive description of the research tools and methods. Part three of the article presents the results of the investigation in the field of education and its relationship with economic growth. The level of education was determined on the basis of an aggregated measure constructed from diagnostics variables. GDP per capita was used to estimate economic growth. The papers ends with conclusion and recommendations for future research. RESEARCH RESULTS: On the basis of theoretical considerations, the influence of knowledge and education on economic growth has been confirmed, particularly in the models of endogenous growth. In empirical research, a great part of the research also indicates a positive relationship between education and economic growth. There are also elaborations that do not confirm this correlation. This study provides two important information on education and economic growth in the Member States of the European Union. Firstly, the area of the European Union is very differentiated taking into account the two criteria indicated. Over the years, a gradual reduction in disparities is observed both in GDP per capita and in TME. Secondly, quantitative analysis has confirmed the emerging relationship between education and economic growth. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: The issue of relationship between education and economic growth is very important and timely. There is lack of papers in the literature that use taxonomic methods to evaluate education. These tools give great opportunity to present the problem in a multidimensional and comprehensive manner, taking into account a large number of variables. The research should be treated as a preliminary study in this field, which requires further in-depth investigation. It is recommended to include more diagnostic variables related to education, as well as, more advanced research techniques in the fields of statistics, econometrics and taxonomy.

Student uniqueness demands that the teacher/catechist is inventive not only in the learning methods and teaching techniques employed but also in the way content is structured. Only in this way can the teacher ascertain that his/her students’ requirements are met and, consequently, student learning facilitated. However, teachers’ creativity should not mean haphazard choice of methods and techniques. Teaching is both an art and a science. The limitless nature of creativity should be used judiciously and made to bear fruit through the application of knowledge of educational psychology and instructional design. By using Adaptive Religious Education, the teacher may be guided to use different techniques in a methodical manner in order to ensure and enhance student learning. In particular, thesystematic use of different symbol systems can help teachers to improve student learning. The paper will put forward a number of principles and practical suggestions that may guide teachers in planning R.E. lessons.
