    The paper is an attempt to determine the condition of ecological awareness – pro-environmental attitudes of students from Poland and Slovakia, as well as correlation between the pro-environmental attitude declared by the youth and their place of residence. Apart from willingness to get to know beliefs, opinions and the condition of knowledge in many particular issues re-lated to the subject, the paper has the following purposes: to learn dependence between personal features of people and the condition of their ecological awareness, to determine the degree of consistency of beliefs in different matters relating to the examined problems, to compare the force of interaction of particular sources of information on particular population categories.

    Opis:
    Plant communities which form orchard edges are a vital element of ecological infrastructure enriching these agrocenoses. The research was conducted in an orchard environment made up of apple orchards and their edges in the form of agricultural cultivations, tree clumps and a road lined with trees and shrubberies. The study aim was to determine the impact of the orchard edge plant diversity onto the number and abundance of Ichneumonidae subfamilies in the orchards. The study showed that orchard environments made up of an apple orchard and edge plants of various species create better living conditions for Ichneumonidae parasitoids than the environment of an orchard and neighbouring agricultural cultivations. The diversity of orchard edge plants positively influences the abundance of the Ichneumonidae subfamilies rather than the number of subfamilies in the orchard. In the orchard habitat the following dominant subfamilies were found: Campopleginae, Cryptinae, Orthocentrinae and Pimplinae. These entomophages may control the abundance of pests infesting orchards.

Research projects are the primary mode for accommodating student interest in environmental learning. Another way of linking the classroom with practical experience is through opportunities for students to participate in campus-wide and outreach environmental activities.

    Based on concerns raised in other disciplines, the presented study aimed to investigate whether response bias affects the results of declarative research on ecological behaviour. The study was conducted in order to determine how the design and execution of declarative tests influenced the obtained results. A series of experiments was conducted in which the research techniques, persons delivering the surveys, or order of questions were changed or modified, or where little incentives were used. The tests showed that the results of declarative research on ecological behaviour is subject to response bias. The respondents declared rarer non-ecological behaviour in face-to-face interviews than in surveys, when the study was conducted by a lecturer, and when they were first asked to express their opinion on this type of behaviour. This effect weakened as the respondents answered further questions in the survey.

    Opis:
    In the most developed countries of Western Europe and North America, the share of organic farming in the food market is between 2% and 6%. The share of organic products on the Polish food market is only 0.33% (Dryjańska E. 2017). The aim of this article is to compare organic agricultural products in the US and EU. The scope of the comparison was covered by the legal regulations for organic production in the mentioned regions and the availability of organic products for customers. In order to highlight differences between the organic product and their traditional counterpart, selected meta-analyzes were conducted by authors in the field of medical and natural sciences. The possibilities of buying organic products are described on the basis of personal experiences of the author as a consumer. The offer of organic products was analyzed on the example of one European country (Poland) and the example of several states of America (Colorado, Virginia, New York). The rules for producing organic food in the US are more rigorous than in the EU. The offer of organic and conventional food targeted to the American consumer is comparable. Although Polish consumers have a positive perception of organic food, its supply is significantly different from the US market. The main differences are in distribution channels, product range, price and visual design of organic products.
    W najbardziej rozwiniętych krajach Europy Zachodniej i w Ameryce Północnej udział produktów rolnictwa ekologicznego w całym rynku spożywczym wynosi od 2 do 6%. Udział produktów ekologicznych na polskim rynku żywnościowym zajmuje zaledwie 0,33% (Dryjańska E. 2017). Celem artykułu jest porównanie ekologicznych produktów rolniczych w USA i UE. Zakresem przedmiotowym porównania objęto regulacje prawną dotyczącą produkcji ekologicznej w wymienionych regionach oraz dostępność produktów ekologicznych dla klientów. Dla podkreślenia różnic między produktem ekologicznym i ich tradycyjnym odpowiednikiem posłużono się wybranymi metaanalizami prowadzonymi przez autorów z obszaru nauk medycznych i przyrodniczych. Możliwości zakupu produktu ekologicznego opisano na podstawie doświadczeń osobistych autora jako konsumenta. Ofertę produktów ekologicznych analizowano na przykładzie jednego kraju europejskiego (Polska) oraz przykładzie kilku stanów amerykańskich (Colorado, Virginia, New York). Zasady produkcji żywności ekologicznej w USA są bardziej rygorystyczne niż w UE. Oferta żywności ekologicznej i konwencjonalnej kierowanej do konsumenta amerykańskiego jest porównywalna. Chociaż polscy konsumenci pozytywnie postrzegają żywność ekologiczną to jej podaż znacząco odbiega od rynku amerykańskiego. Główne różnice dotyczą kanałów dystrybucji, asortymentu, ceny oraz wizualnego oznaczenia produktów ekologicznych.

    Opis:
    The purpose of the article is to explain the methodological aspects of the source space in the 21st century exemplified by periodicals as the basis of historical research in the scope of ecological education in the Second Republic of Poland (1918-1939). In this context this article presents a scheme of the features of postmodern culture (the second half of the 20th century and the first decades of the 21st century) and examples of a dozen periodicals, which constitute a source basis for scientific research in the scope of educational history (both specific/ environmental and dedicated to the youth and children).
    Celem artykułu jest wyjaśnienie metodologicznych aspektów przestrzeni źródłowej w XXI wieku, na przykładzie czasopiśmiennictwa jako podstawy do badań historycznych w zakresie edukacji ekologicznej w II Rzeczypospolitej (1918-1939). W tym kontekście zaprezentowano zarys cech kultury ponowoczesnej/postmodernizmu (II połowy XX i pierwszych dekad XXI wieku), podano egzemplifikacje dwunastu czasopism stanowiących podstawę źródłową do badań naukowych w zakresie historii edukacji (zarówno fachowych/przyrodniczych, jak również przeznaczonych dla dzieci i młodzieży).
