Opis:
Generating sounding signals is essential for the operation of active sonar. The system should be highly reliable. This can be achieved through architecture, communication between the devices, and a well-designed and self–testing software. The system presented in the article is responsible for the generation of hydroacoustic sounding signals, and ensures proper interaction between power amplifiers and power supplies. Thanks to its structure, the system ensures a very stable generation of many complex sounding signals in the form of linear or hyperbolic frequency modulated pulses (up or down), continuous transmission wave with increasing frequency and others. It is used in the mine-countermeasure sonar, but can also be used in other types of hydroacoustic systems which require complex sounding signals. The article describes possible technical solutions and sounding signals.

We are going to change the present radio-frequency sources with a new one, based on the Direct Digital Synthesis (from now on referred to as DDS) technique [6]. A first prototype with three different sinusoidal signal sources has been tested and the preliminary results give us some confidence for future applications. In brief, we would like to obtain a multiple frequencies system where the present stability between our RF systems is still ensured, together with a more flexible and easier way to synthesise the sinusoidal signals.

The paper presents an application of UML technology in a discrete system development process. In the process at the analysis stage UML diagrams are fundamental tool. The outcome of this stage is a basis for formal models exploited at the design stage, where the design is symbolically verified and treated as a rule-based system. Two formal models of good graphical appeal are proposed: Petri nets and state machine diagrams. Both are heavily using Boolean expressions what makes that design can easily be implemented in modern programmable structures.

Opis:
The main purpose of the paper is to suggest a new form of BDD - SMTBDD diagram, methods of obtaining, and its basic features. The idea of using SMTBDD diagram in the process of logic synthesis dedicated to FPGA structures is presented. The creation of SMTBDD diagrams is the result of cutting BDD diagram which is the effect of multiple decomposition. The essence of a proposed decomposition method rests on the way of determining the number of necessary ‘g’ bounded functions on the basis of the content of a root table connected with an appropriate SMTBDD diagram. The article presents the methods of searching non-disjoint decomposition using SMTBDD diagrams. Besides, it analyzes the techniques of choosing cutting levels as far as effective technology mapping is concerned. The paper also discusses the results of the experiments which confirm the efficiency of the analyzed decomposition methods.

We devise a tool-supported framework for achieving power-efficiency of data-flow hardware circuits. Our approach relies on formal control techniques, where the goal is to compute a strategy that can be used to drive a given model so that it satisfies a set of control objectives. More specifically, we give an algorithm that derives abstract behavioral models directly in a symbolic form from original designs described at Register-transfer Level using a Hardware Description Language, and for formulating suitable scheduling constraints and power-efficiency objectives. We show how a resulting strategy can be translated into a piece of synchronous circuit that, when paired with the original design, ensures the aforementioned objectives. We illustrate and validate our approach experimentally using various hardware designs and objectives.

Opis:
The paper concerns the construction scheme of Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS) generator based on widely developed Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) technology. Firstly, the division of all generators is presented regarding the fact whether they generate sinusoidal or non-sinusoidal signals and whether the they have positive or negative feedback. Next chapter concerns how to generate frequency directly and indirectly synthesis and how to integrate these types of sytheses into the hybrid one. According to the blueprint, DDS generator if fully digital, which facilitates the control enabling to change almost at will the oscillation while the system works. Next chapters contain the conclusions and some proposals regarding practical application. DDS synthesizer has been made in accordance to the assumptions of the project, which was confirmed in practice. Control program enables us to fuse some measuring systems together into one, which facilitates simultaneous gathering of the data from several devices. Hence, the overall efficiency rises and the costs of carried out experiments are reduced. In the case of foreigners, it will be supplied by editors.

Opis:
The simple digital filters are not sufficient for digital modeling of systems with distributed parameters. It is necessary to apply more complex digital filters. In this work, a set of filters, called the digital function filters, is proposed. It consists of digital filters, which are obtained from causal and stable filters through some function transformation. In this paper, for several basic functions: exponential, logarithm, square root and the real power of input filter, the recursive algorithms of the digital function filters have been determined The digital function filters of exponential type can be obtained from direct recursive formulas. Whereas, the other function filters, such as the logarithm, the square root and the real power, require using the implicit recursive formulas. Some applications of the digital function filters for the analysis and synthesis of systems with lumped and distributed parameters (a long line, phase shifters, infinite ladder circuits) are given as well.

Opis:
Adjustable-width pulse signals are widely used in systems such as test equipment for hold time, response time and radar testing. In this study, we proposed a pulse generation method based on virtual sampling with ultra-high pulse width resolution. In the proposed method, the sampling rate of a digital-to-analogue converter (DAC) was adjusted to considerably improve pulse width resolution. First, the sampling rate was matched with the target pulse width resolution to digitally sample the ideal signal and generate digital waveform sampling points. Next, the signal bandwidth of the DAC was matched using a low-pass digital filter. Finally, the waveform sampling points were downsampled using an integer factor and output after digital-to-analogue conversion. The waveform pulse width information generated by high-frequency digital sampling was passed step by step and retained in the final output analogue signal. A DAC with a sampling rate of 1.25 GSa/s was used, and the pulse width resolution of the pulse signal was 0.1 ns. Theoretically, a sampling rate of 10 GSa/s is required to achieve 0.1 ns resolution. This method is simple, has a low cost, and exhibits excellent performance.

Block-based physical modeling is a methodology for modeling physical systems with different subsystems. Each subsystem may be modeled according to a different paradigm. Connecting systems of diverse nature in the discrete-time domain requires a unified interconnection strategy. Such a strategy is provided by the well-known wave digital principle, which had been introduced initially for the design of digital filters. It serves as a starting point for the more general idea of blockbased physical modeling, where arbitrary discrete-time state space representations can communicate via wave variables. An example in musical acoustics shows the application of block-based modeling to multidimensional physical systems.

Opis:
The thermionic emission current is used in many vacuum devices such as evaporators, rare gas excimers, or electron beam objects for highenergy physics. The stability of the thermionic emission current is a very important requirement for the accuracy of those devices. Hence, there is a number of control systems that use a feedback signal directly proportional to the emission current in order to stabilize the thermionic emission current. Most of them use feedback from a high-voltage anode circuit to a low-voltage cathode circuit. However, there is a novel solution that uses linear cathode current distribution and processing of two cathode circuit voltage signals for converting the emission current to voltage. However, it is based on old-fashioned analog technology. This paper shows the thermionic emission current to voltage conversion method with the use of a digital control system. A digital realization of a multiplicative-additive algorithm is presented and proper work in closed-loop mode is confirmed.
Cyfrowa realizacja algorytmu multiplikatywno-addytywnego została zaprezentowana, a poprawna praca w zamkniętej pętli sprzężenia zwrotnego potwierdzona.

This work present an efficient hardware architecture of Support Vector Machine (SVM) for the classification of Hyperspectral remotely sensed data using High Level Synthesis (HLS) method. The high classification time and power consumption in traditional classification of remotely sensed data is the main motivation for this work. Therefore presented work helps to classify the remotely sensed data in real-time and to take immediate action during the natural disaster. An embedded based SVM is designed and implemented on Zynq SoC for classification of hyperspectral images. The data set of remotely sensed data are tested on different platforms and the performance is compared with existing works. Novelty in our proposed work is extend the HLS based FPGA implantation to the onboard classification system in remote sensing. The experimental results for selected data set from different class shows that our architecture on Zynq 7000 implementation generates a delay of 11.26 μs and power consumption of 1.7 Watts, which is extremely better as compared to other Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) implementation using Hardware description Language (HDL) and Central Processing Unit (CPU) implementation.
