Opis:
The aim of the article is to present consumer attitudes in Poland in respect of modern solutions in the retail trade and the influence which these attitudes have on their behaviour in the market. The considerations were conducted using methods of logical inference, based on a critical analysis of available derivative sources and conclusions from quantitative research conducted on a sample of 1.075 consumers. In order to analyse more deeply the research results a cluster analysis was conducted using one of the hierarchical methods – the Ward’s method. Respondents’ attitudes towards modern solutions in the retail trade are generally positive. However they are not always recognized by them. A large percentage of respondents declared that they are not acquainted with particular forms of modern retail trade (mostly Beacon, PSS or RIFID systems). They were mostly consumers from the ‘retreated skeptics’ group, in other words the elderly with basic or vocational education from small towns and villages. The research findings presented may be used by trade enterprises in order to answer to the identified need of consumers from generation Z and to set out the direction of the technological education of consumers and increase the availability of particularised solutions.

Opis:
The paper aims at presenting the broad literature report on green hotels. Development of the “green hotels” concept and its implementation are relatively new initiatives in hospitality sector. They can be seen as the elements of the growing general global environmental awareness. Hospitality industry is one of the most rapidly expanding sector worldwide. It is strongly associated with tourism. However, with the growing palette of services offered currently by the hotels they tend to play various socio-economical roles. In many locations hotels function as a driving force for socio-economic development, serving as employers for the local population, but also providing the forum for meetings, conferences, private/family events and ceremonies. Unfortunately, hospitality is also recognised as an industry characterised by the consumption of significant amount of resources. In particular, this concerns energy and water consumption but also waste generation. Based on literature reports the paper presents impact of dynamically growing hotel industry on the environment. The evolution in customers’ preferences towards green hotels is discussed in terms of their growing environmental awareness and the level of their satisfaction. The willingness of customers to financially support green hotel practices is discussed. The theoretical background of marketing strategies is discussed. The role of communication between various players involved in hotel operations is underlined.

Opis:
Studies on modern consumers’ sentiments toward marketing in an emerging market context are vital. This paper compares demographic differences in South African consumers’ sentiment toward marketing. Data were collected via a survey with 444 diverse consumers residing in the Tshwane metropolitan area. The findings revealed that South African males are significantly less satisfied with marketing communication practices compared to females. Consumers earning lower income were signifi cantly less positive towards marketing in general as well as product quality, price, and selling practices. Afrikaans-speaking consumers’ attitudes were less positive towards marketing communication. The finding can guide the marketing industry to advance its image by adjusting its practices and coordinating with the government and other stakeholders to collaborate.
