Opis:
In [C] and [F1] the connection matrix theory for Morse decomposition is developed in the case of continuous dynamical systems. Our purpose is to study the case of discrete time dynamical systems. The connection matrices are matrices between the homology indices of the sets in the Morse decomposition. They provide information about the structure of the Morse decomposition; in particular, they give an algebraic condition for the existence of connecting orbit set between different Morse sets.

Opis:
On a Morse decomposition of an isolated invariant set of a homeomorphism (discrete dynamical system) there are partial orderings defined by the homeomorphism. These are called admissible orderings of the Morse decomposition. We prove the existence of index filtrations for admissible total orderings of a Morse decomposition and introduce the connection matrix in this case.

Opis:
We discuss the ideas of Morse decompositions and index filtrations for isolated invariant sets for both single-valued and multi-valued maps. We introduce the definition of connection matrix pairs and present the theorem of their existence. Connection matrix pair theory for multi-valued maps is used to show that connection matrix pairs obey the continuation property. We conclude by addressing applications to numerical analysis. This paper is primarily an overview of the papers [R1] and [R2].

Opis:
The backbone networks evolution to high-speed DWDM networks generates new problems for switching. This function element must be also based on optical technology. For large capacity this cannot be realized by a single matrix, but by multistage switching networks. In the paper three types of optical matrices have been described: fiber switch FX, wavelength fiber switch WSX and wavelength interchanging fiber switch WIX. Based on these matrices, four switching network constructions were considered. The connection properties of these switching networks were evaluated, determining the electronic equivalent switching network for which these properties are well known.

Opis:
In this paper, the Maximal Size Matching with Permanent Selection (MSMPS) scheduling algorithm and its performance evaluation, under different traffic models, are described. In this article, computer simulation results under nonuniformly, diagonally and lin-diagonally distributed traffic models are presented. The simulations was performed for different switch sizes: 4×4, 8×8 and 16×16. Results for MSMPS algorithm and for other algorithms well known in the literature are discussed. All results are presented for 16×16 switch size but simulation results are representative for other switch sizes. Mean Time Delay and efficiency were compared and considered. It is shown that our algorithm achieve similar performance results like another algorithms, but it does not need any additional calculations. This information causes that MSMPS algorithm can be easily implemented in hardware.
