    Opis:
    The article presents the instruments of the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy for the fruit and vegetable market. It provides a detailed analysis of the mechanism of support for soft fruit producers, which was introduced in Poland in 2008. Changes in the area of plantations of raspberries and strawberries, the yield of these fruits and the variability of purchase prices for processing were examined in two periods: 2008-2014 and an equal period before the introduction of this instrument (2001-2007). The index of changes and coefficient of variation were calculated to determine changes in the traits under analysis. The significance of differences in the mean values of the analysed parameters (area, yield, prices) in selected periods was determined by means of the test of significance of differences for dependent samples. Analysis showed that the area of plantations, yield and average purchase prices of raspberries had increased significantly (p < 0.05). There were minimal changes in the plantation area and yield of strawberries. The average purchase prices of strawberries increased, but these changes were not statistically significant. The coefficients of variation in the purchase prices of strawberries and raspberries for processing decreased after the introduction of soft fruit subsidies (2008-2014), in comparison with the period before the introduction of the payments, indicating a stabilisation of prices. However, it is not possible to make a clear association between the introduction of soft fruit subsidies and the stabilisation of purchase prices of strawberries and raspberries for processing.
    Przedstawiono instrumenty wspólnej polityki rolnej UE dla rynku owoców i warzyw, a szczegółowej analizie poddano mechanizm wsparcia producentów owoców miękkich, wprowadzony w 2008 roku w Polsce. Zbadano zmiany powierzchni uprawy, zbiorów oraz zmienność cen skupu malin i truskawek do przetwórstwa w Polsce w latach 2008-2014, w odniesieniu do okresu poprzedzającego wprowadzenie tego instrumentu (lata 2001-2007). Do określenia zmian badanych cech obliczono indeks zmian oraz współczynnik zmienności. Określono istotność różnic między średnimi badanych parametrów (powierzchnia, zbiory, ceny) w wyznaczonych okresach, stosując test istotności różnic dla prób zależnych. Analiza pozwoliła na stwierdzenie, że istotnie (dla p < 0,05) zwiększyła się powierzchnia, zbiory oraz średnie ceny skupu malin, natomiast niewiele zmieniła się powierzchnia uprawy oraz zbiory truskawek. Wzrosły średnie ceny skupu truskawek, jednak były to zmiany nieistotne statystycznie. W okresie stosowania dopłat do owoców miękkich (w latach 2008-2014), w porównaniu do okresu przed wprowadzeniem płatności, obniżeniu uległy współczynniki zmienności cen skupu malin i truskawek do przetwórstwa, co wskazuje na stabilizację cen tych owoców, jednak nie można tego efektu jednoznacznie przypisać wprowadzeniu instrumentu płatności do owoców miękkich.

    Opis:
    This study aims to identify the factors forming the purchase price levels of sour cherries for processing in Poland and determine the way such factors affect these price levels. The scope of the study covers the 2004-2019 period. The subject of the study were annual average purchase prices of sour cherries for freezing and sour cherries for pressing. These prices were published by the Institute of Agricultural and Food Economics in the magazine Rynek Owoców i Warzyw (Fruit and Vegetable Market). A multiple regression method was used for analysing the relationship between the purchase prices of sour cherries and their determinants. The estimation of the structural parameters of econometric models was done using the method of least squares. The estimated econometric models explain approximately 80% volatility in the purchase prices of sour cherries for processing. The sour cherry harvest both in Poland and Germany as well as the strawberry harvest in Poland proved to be significant for the purchase prices of sour cherries. Strawberries may be a substitute for sour cherries in food processing. The importance of this factor for the formation of the purchase prices of sour cherries is a significant result of this study.
    Celem badań była identyfikacja czynników kształtujących poziom cen skupu wiśni do przetwórstwa w Polsce, a także określenie istotności ich wpływu na poziom cen. Praca swoim zakresem obejmuje dane za lata 2004-2019. Przedmiot badań stanowiły średnioroczne ceny skupu wiśni do mrożenia oraz wiśni do tłoczenia, opublikowane przez Instytut Ekonomiki Rolnictwa i Gospodarki Żywnościowej w miesięczniku Rynek Owoców i Warzyw. Do analizy związku pomiędzy cenami skupu wiśni a ich determinantami zastosowano metodę regresji wielorakiej. Estymacji parametrów strukturalnych modeli ekonometrycznych dokonano za pomocą metody najmniejszych kwadratów. Oszacowane modele ekonometryczne wyjaśniają około 80% zmienności cen skupu wiśni do przetwórstwa. Istotne dla kształtowania cen skupu wiśni okazały się zbiory wiśni w Polsce i Niemczech, a także zbiory truskawek w Polsce. Truskawki mogą być substytutem wiśni w przetwórstwie spożywczym, a znaczenie tego czynnika dla kształtowania cen skupu wiśni jest ważnym rezultatem niniejszych badań.

    Opis:
    The aim of the paper is to demonstrate that for a given procurement price there is a certain equality accepting mutual benefits for both farm producers and agri-food processors. This allows transactions to be made at the procurement price level which is allowable and mutually acceptable due to the benefits. The benefits do not have to be equal, hence the concept of acceptable inequalities. The paper shows the basis for expecting the procurement price level, and therefore the benefits from the producer’s and processor’s point of view. They result from their maximised goal functions. Both parties are price-takers for the procurement price established on the purchase market, with a reference to price determination at the administrative level. The hypothesis about the acceptable inequality is proven in logical and formal analysis with the use of algebra notations and rules. By and large, this has not been addressed in the literature.
    Celem analizy w artykule jest wykazanie, iż dla danej ceny skupu istnieje pewna równość dopuszczająca wzajemne korzyści producenta rolnego i przetwórcy rolno-żywnościowego. To pozwala zawierać transakcje przy tym poziomie ceny skupu, który jest dopuszczalny i obustronnie akceptowalny ze względu na te korzyści. Korzyści nie muszą być równe, stąd pojęcie: nierówności dopuszczające. Pokazane są podstawy do oczekiwania poziomu ceny skupu, a zatem i korzyści z perspektywy producenta i przetwórcy. Wynikają one z ich maksymalizowanych funkcji celu. Obie strony są cenobiorcami dla ceny skupu ustalanej na rynku skupu, z pewnym odniesieniem do jej administracyjnego ustalania. Hipoteza o nierówności dopuszczającej udowadniania jest w analizie logiczno- -formalnej z wykorzystaniem zapisów i reguł algebry. Problem ten w literaturze w zasadzie nie był podejmowany.
