Opis:
Nucleophilic amination, as a vital step in the synthesis of 1,3,5-triamino-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene (TATB) using 1,3,5-trialkoxy-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene (TORTNB) and aqueous ammonia as the starting materials and catalyzed by phase transfer catalysis (PTCs) under mild conditions is described. Various phase transfer catalysts, such as crown ethers, tertiary amines, quaternary ammonium salts, poly ethers and cyclodextrin, and various experimental parameters, such as no. of equivalents of PTC, mole ratio of ammonium hydroxide to the starting material, reaction time, reaction temperature and cycle times of the organic phase were investigated. The crown ethers, especially 18-crown-6, show good catalytic activity and re-usability for the amination of 1,3,5-triethoxy-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene giving a yield of 96.52%. This makes for a safe process and suitable for scale-up, because the reactions are carried out under atmospheric conditions. The material synthesised by the new system was characterized by DSC, SEM and LPS.

Opis:
The thermally stable, insensitive, high explosive 1,3,5-triamino-2,4,6- trinitrobenzene (TATB) is manufactured by amination of 1,3,5-trichloro-2,4,6- trinitrobenzene (TCTNB) in toluene with NH3 gas. It is an isothermal, single-feed, semi-batch, gas-liquid heterogeneous, reaction crystallization process. The amination process is discussed by applying the chemical engineering methodology of mass transfer and reactive crystallization processes based on Two-Film Mass- Transfer (TFMT) theory. Kinetic expressions have been developed to define the chemical reactions as well as the physical phenomena (mass transfer) associated with this process. A single expression has been derived to explain the dependence of the ammonia consumption rate on various process parameters. Subsequently, the influence of various process parameters on the product quality (particle size and chloride impurity content) has been studied on the laboratory scale. Finally, the process has been established in the pilot plant, with optimized process conditions, to realize TATB of desired particle size and chloride content. The effects of feeding excess ammonia, and the presence of mercaptans/hydrogen sulphide impurities in poor quality toluene on the formation of certain undesirable by-products in TATB, are also discussed.

Opis:
With the continuous depletion of a large number of zinc sulphide ores that are easy to treat, the finely disseminated and refractory low-grade zinc oxide ores has become an important source for the production of zinc minerals. In this paper, a sulfurization-amination flotation process has been proposed for concentrating large amounts of low-grade zinc oxide ore in Lanping, Yunnan Province. Spectrum analysis, chemical analysis and element analysis was performed to provide research basis for process design and operational control. The main influencing factors during the process, including grinding fineness, reagent types and dosage, etc., have been studied through flotation tests. The results showed that the optimum grinding fineness was -0.074 mm accounting for 89.78% for the target run-of mine ore. Moreover, optimum dosages of sodium carbonate, sodium silicate, sodium hexametaphosphate, sodium sulphide and octadecylamine were determined as 1500 g/t, 500 g/t, 200g/t, 8000 g/t and 500 g/t, respectively. Under these conditions, an open circuit test and a closed circuit test with one stage rougher, two stage scavenger and three stage cleaner flotation were carried out with the run-of-mine ore with a zinc grade of 6.52% and the oxidation ratio of 94.62%. The zinc concentrate can be obtained with zinc grade of 44.09% at a zinc recovery of 66.35% with a 9.70% yield of zinc concentrate yield. The results confirmed the validity and practicability of the proposed process design and experimental operation. This study is of special value as it provides referencing significance for economically exploiting low-grade zinc oxide ore.

Opis:
A series of 2,6-dialkoxy-3,5-dinitropyrazines (R = Me, Et, Pr) has been synthesized and subjected to amination. The yield and purity of the generated 2,6-diamino-3 ,5-dinitropyrazine was found to be independent of the alkoxy group present in the precursor. This contrasts with the behaviour of 1,3,5-trialkoxy-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene (R = Me, Et, Pr), where the purity of the 1,3,5-triamino- 2,4,6-trinitrobenzene (TATB) produced by amination was very dependent upon the alkoxy group.

Opis:
A synthetic procedure has been developed for the synthesis of 1,4-diamino- 3,6-dinitropyrazolo[4,3-c]pyrazole (DADNP) via N-amination reaction. Its derivatives, 4,4’-(triaz-1-ene-1,3-diyl)bis(1-amine-3,6-dinitropyrazolo[4,3-c] pyrazole) (TBADNP) and 1,4-dinitramino-3,6-dinitropyrazolo[4,3-c]pyrazole (DNADNP), were first designed and synthesized by the diazotization and nitrification of amino group, and their structures were characterized by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, elementary analysis and MS. The thermal properties of target compounds were studied by means of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetry (TG). The thermal decomposition peak temperatures of DADNP, TBADNP and DNADNP are 227, 236 and 288 °C, respectively. Results show that the derivatives of 1,4-diamino-3,6-dinitropyrazolo[4,3-c]pyrazole have better thermal stability.
