Opis:
The external appearance and quality of table potatoes are determined, among other factors, by the health status of the plants during the growing season. Chemical control methods are often combined with biocontrol agents to effectively fight potato pathogens. Potatoes of the very early cultivar Rosara were grown in experimental plots. The plots were located in Tomaszkowo (NE Poland, 2007–2009). The experiment involved the following treatments: 1) biological control − mycorrhizal Glomus spp. inoculum was applied to the roots, − tubers were dressed and plants were sprayed with Polyversum three times during the growing season, 2) chemical control – at two-week intervals, plants were sprayed with the following fungicides: Infinito 687.5 SC and Tanos 50 WG, Valbon 72 WG and Tanos 50 WG. In the control treatment, potato plants were not protected against pathogens. During the growing season, the severity of late blight and early blight was evaluated on a nine-point scale. The composition of fungal communities colonising potato stems was analysed. The fungistatic properties of the fungicides used in the field experiment were evaluated in an in vitro test. The symptoms of infections caused by Phytophthora infestans and Alternaria spp. were significantly reduced in the treatment which used the integrated chemical and biological control. The least diverse fungal community was isolated from fungicide-treated plants. In the in vitro test, fungicides at all analysed concentrations inhibited the linear mycelial growth of selected pathogens.

Opis:
In this article, it is described how the reconfigurable inter-operational buffers system built on the Digital Twin platform. Interoperating production buffers are now widely used in production. Their effect on the production system can be seen in decreasing downtime. From a cost-based point of view, the interoperating production buffers may generate a gain from the reduction in the volume of work-in-process, with which we increase production performance. This ratio depends on the average number of products that the buffers contain. The average number of pieces in the buffer is limited by the capacity of the buffer. The impact of turbulence in production is seen precisely on the average content of inter-operational production buffers. If we want to maintain work-in-process on optimal values, it is necessary to calculate and maintain the optimal capacity of each interoperating production buffer on the line. In the context of Smart Factory, it is currently possible that the current capacity of the interoperating production buffers is maintained according to the current state of production. In the subject system, real production facilities communicate with each other through the IoT as autonomous agents, which are decided on the basis of a formula to calculate the optimal capacity of the buffers, the prediction of faults and negotiation, thus actively maintaining the optimal capacity of intermediate operating production buffers for Smart Factory support.

The fungi Trichoderma harzianum, T. polysporum, T. viride, Paeciliomyces fumosoroseus, P. lilacinus, Verticillium/lecanicillium lecanii, Ulocladium oudemansii, U. atrum and Beauveria bassiana are used or considered to be used for biocontrol of pests and plant diseases. Human exposure to these fungi in environments where they may naturally occur or are used as biocontrol agents has not been directly investigated to date. This review aims to provide an overview of the current knowledge of human exposure to fungi from the relevant genera. The subject of fungal taxonomy due to the rapid development of this issue is also discussed. B. bassiana, V. lecanii, T. harzianum, T. polysporum, P. lilacinus and U. oudemansii were infrequently present in the air and thus people in general seem to be seldom exposed to these fungi. However, when V. lecanii was present, high concentrations were measured. Fungi from the genera Trichoderma, Paecilomyces and Ulocladium were rarely identifi ed to the species level and sometimes high concentrations were reported. T. viride and U. atrum were detected frequently in different environments and sometimes with a high frequency of presence in samples. Thus, people seem to be frequently exposed to these fungi. Sequence data have led to recent revisions of fungal taxonomy, and in future studies it is important to specify the taxonomy used for identifi cation, thus making comparisons possible.

Opis:
Neuropeptides are regulators of critical life processes in insects, but are subject to rapid degradation by peptidases in the hemolymph (blood), tissues and gut. This limitation can be overcome via replacement of peptidase susceptible portions of the insect neuropeptides with non-natural residues or moieties to create analogs with enhanced biostability. Two neuropeptide families, the insect kinins and insectatachykinins, stimulate gut motility and Malpighian tubule fluid secretion in certain insects but unmodified members demonstrate little or no effect when fed to pea aphids (Acyrthosiphon pisum) in an artificial diet. Nonetheless, biostable analogs developed via the strategic introduction of either bulky Aib residues and/or β-amino acids demonstrate potent antifeedant and aphicidal effects when administered orally; whereas other biostable analogs are inactive. Although the precise mechanism of action has not been delineated, the activity may be associated with disruption of the physiological processes that these neuropeptides regulate in insects. The most active of the biostable insect kinin and insectatachykinin analogs show LC50 values of 0.063 nmole/μl (LT50 = 1.68 days) and 0.0085 nmole/μl (LT50 = 1.1 days), respectively; matching or exceeding the potency of some commercially available aphicides. The biostable analogs represent important leads in the development of alternative, environmentally sound aphid control agents.

The lack of proper analytical models of some production processes prevents us from obtaining proper values of process parameters by simply computing optimal values. Possible solutions of control problems in such areas of industrial processes can be found using certain methods from the domain of artificial intelligence: neural networks, fuzzy logic, expert systems, or evolutionary algorithms. Presented in this work, a solution to such a control problem is an alternative approach that combines control of the industrial process with learning based on production results. By formulating the main assumptions of the proposed methodology, decision processes of a human operator using his experience are taken into consideration. The researched model of using and gathering experience of human beings is designed with the contribution of agent technology. The presented solution of the control problem coincides with case-based reasoning (CBR) methodology.

Opis:
In this paper, an energy coordination control method based on intelligent multi-agent systems (MAS) is proposed for energy management and voltage control of a DC microgrid. The structure of the DC microgrid is designed to realize the mathematical modeling of photovoltaic cells, fuel cells and batteries. A two-layer intelligent MAS is designed for energy coordination control: grid-connection and islanding of a DC microgrid is combined with energy management of PV cells, fuel cells, loads and batteries. In the hidden layer and the output layer of the pro-posed neural network there are 17 and 8 neurons, respectively, and the “logsig” activation function is used for the neurons in the network. Eight kinds of feature quantities and 13 different actions are taken as the input and output parameters of the neural network from the micro-source and the load, and the as the control center agent’s decision-makers. The feasibility of the proposed intelligent multi-agent energy coordination control strategy is verified by MATLAB/Simulink simulation, and three types of examples are analyzed after increasing the load. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme exhibits better performance than the traditional approaches.

This paper studies an evacuation problem described by a leader-follower model with bounded confidence under predictive mechanisms. We design a control strategy in such a way that agents are guided by a leader, which follows the evacuation path. The proposed evacuation algorithm is based on Model Predictive Control (MPC) that uses the current and the past information of the system to predict future agents’ behaviors. It can be observed that, with MPC method, the leader-following consensus is obtained faster in comparison to the conventional optimal control technique. The effectiveness of the developed MPC evacuation algorithm with respect to different parameters and different time domains is illustrated by numerical examples.

Opis:
The multiagent approach to modelling, traditionally dedicated for distributed systems, can be applied on any platform where there are more processes or control threads. The world of surface transport is a typical example of such a situation where high numbers of dynamic entities (agents) interacting with each other represent a complex problem to solve, analyse and visualise. The main focus of this paper is on functional description of the traffic control problem at the rail-road intersection. Unlike conventional approaches, this model assumes usage of modern (infrastructure-to-vehicle, vehicle-to-vehicle) communication technologies as an essential base of cooperative intelligent transportation systems. The authors use the development toolkit NetLogo, explaining step-by-step the key programming details, to get a comprehensive overview of the operation of the entire system through simple definitions of a number of simple cooperating agents. The introduced model is implementation free and shows newly offered functionalities on the principal level, while a minimum theory of collective intelligence hidden in the background is needed.
