The aim of this paper is to determine the expectations of students from selected Polish academic centers toward facilities at agritourist farms, and identifying the socio-demographic characteristics that determined those expectations. A survey method was used in this research. Using the Likert’s five-level scale, respondents rated the significance of elements of agritourist farm facilities. It was found that academic youth expected, above all, facilities for enabling passive leisure and the independent preparation of meals. Provision of facilities for active leisure were of less significance to them. Gender, place of living, field of study and prior experience connected to leisure on the farms analyzed were not factors that differentiated students’ expectations. A weak correlation was found between students’ expectations of facilities at agritourist farms and their economic status. Students’ expectations were very similar to the expectations of the average agritourist. Research results confirmed some of the results known from the literature, stating that socio-demographic characteristics differentiated the expectations of academic youth to a small extent. However, the effects obtained did not correspond to results claiming that age, gender, place of living and income have a significant influence on tourist expectations. Additionally psychographic characteristics should be considered in the following research. A combination of demographic and psychographic characteristics may offer a wider base for analysis and give better end results, allowing market segmentation.

The survey carried out among university students has proved that they choose the forest as a place to spend their leisure time mostly in the spring (13.2%) and in the summer (21.2%). Students declare that they relaxed in the forest even a few times a week. Apart from recreation (walking - 61.6%, picking mushrooms - 37%), they engage in health improving activities, including sport (29.4%). Young people (especially town dwellers - 40.2%) decide go to the forest to get away from everyday routine (33.9%) in search of peace and quiet surroundings (40.5%). They do not have any specific preferences for the type of forest (50.1%), they feel good in mixed forests (31.9%), however. Since the forms of activity most frequently indicated by students are hiking and biking, they notice poor infrastructure of forest areas (lack of marked hiking routes - 14.3% and bicycle lanes - 12.5%). Respondents are familiar with the condition of forests in the proximity of the place of their residence (81.6%), considering it as basically good (75.9%). However, their knowledge of the natural environment protection forms and fire protection rules is definitely insufficient.

The study is supposed to start a series of research on the role of natural building as an environment friendly solution. It includes the results of a survey which was carried out to define the level of university students’ ecological awareness of benefits and development prospects of this technology in Poland. Young people were surveyed to find out their knowledge of the solutions based on natural resources available in the environment. It has been established whether positive attitude of students toward the natural environment can find reflection in their approval of eco-building and subsequently, willingness to invest money in construction of such buildings in the future. An important question has been addressed, that is, whether people are interested in houses made of clay, straw or wood an whether they consider them as cheap, durable, modern and esthetic architectural forms.

The survey which was supposed to provide information on popularity of rural holiday destinations among the academic youth has revealed that rural areas are most willingly visited by students who come from cities (49.3%). The locations most frequently chosen by the respondents included: the Baltic coast, Helski Peninsula, Kujawy and Kaszuby Region. It was also observed that male students are more willing than female students to spend holidays outside towns (54.6%). The recreational activities indicated by the respondents who chose to spend their free time in the village were mainly cycling and hiking (34.3% vs 28.4%). Another form of activity was sightseeing (32.3%), and kayaking (30.4%). People who declared to have spent their holiday time in the country were more often involved in sailing (mainly men - 66.6%) and rowing (mainly women - 54.5%) sunbathing and diving (7.8%) than those who chose to go to the city. Students are regarded to be an active and important group of tourists who tend to visit the village even two times a year and stay there for longer periods of time (even 8 – 14 days). It is likely that trips to regions characterized by peace, quietness and clean air will increase among the analyzed group of tourists.

The contemporary socio-economic reality generates the need to create a life project that determines the direction of implementing important goals as well as of developing new competences. This inspires the individual to look for ways of thinking and behaving which can serve as protection against various risk factors. This applies to the factors which enhance socio-professional ambivalence, the difficulty of taking advantage of life opportunities and performing new social roles. The study introduces the subject of designing the future by academic youth. It is a group that, at the stage of entering adulthood, takes up the challenge of adequate learning about their own needs and confronting them with the value system, in order to realistically determine their capabilities, both at the emotional and behavioral level. Then they will be ready for their internal and external exploration. In early adulthood, developing a plan for life turns out to be both an important protective factor and a manifestation of proactivity. In this context, creating a plan for life can also mean taking care of oneself and one’s self-development.

W artykule zaprezentowane zostały wyniki badań porównawczych dotyczących świata wartości studentów polskich i węgierskich uczelni wyższych. Podczas kwerendy badawczej wykorzystano narzędzie pozwalające zarówno na aksjologiczne autoidentyfikacje badanych, jak i wyrażenie opinii na temat budzących społeczne emocje zagadnień. Projekt badawczy pozwolił zidentyfikować zarówno podobieństwa, jak i interesujące różnice w systemie wartości studentów dwóch analizowanych państw. Studenci węgierscy rzadziej deklarowali się jako wierzący i mniejszą wagę przydawali religii, równocześnie znacznie częściej niż polscy uznając, że chrześcijański system wartości powinien być podstawowym fundamentem dla Europy. Inną interesującą kwestią może być zidentyfikowana różnica pomiędzy różnymi wymiarami świata wartości kobiet i mężczyzn. Zarówno w Polsce, jak i na Węgrzech, to studentki są bardziej światopoglądowo liberalne – natomiast studenci konserwatywni i odwołujący się częściej do tradycji.
This article presents the results of a comparative study on the world of values of Polish and Hungarian university students. During the research queries, a tool allowed both the respondents’ axiological self-identification and the expression of opinions on socially emotive issues. The research project made it possible to identify both similarities and interesting differences in the value systems of the students of the two countries analysed. Hungarian students were less likely to declare themselves as believers and to give less importance to religion, while at the same time being much more likely than Polish students to consider that the Christian value system should be the basic foundation for Europe. Another interesting point may be the identified difference between the different dimensions of the world of values of men and women. In both Poland and Hungary, female students are more worldly liberal, while male students are conservative and refer more often to tradition.

Introduction: Living in the age of modern inventions one forgets about one of the best medications for many health problems, which is physical activity. In 2016, Kantar Public (Ministry of Sport and Tourism, 2016) announced that only one in five Poles aged 15-69 had an adequate level of physical activity. A CBOS (Centre for Public Opinion Research) survey conducted in 2014 showed that half of Poles weigh too much. For the development of lifestyle diseases, besides overweight, the wrong lifestyle also contributes (CBOS No. 122/2014). According to the WOBASZ (a multi-center nationwide survey of the health status of the population) survey, only 3% of Polish society is characterized by "an indicator of a healthy lifestyle" (Kwaśniewska, Kaczmarczyk-Chałas, Dziankowska-Zaborszczyk, Kucharczyk, Drygas, 2010). The role and task of physical activity at an early age, as well as at any other stage of life, is very important in the prevention of civilization diseases, which is why it is crucial to monitor it. Aim of the study: The aim of the study was to assess the relationship between the level of physical activity, state of health and the lifestyle of the academic youth. Material and methods: The research was carried out among students from three universities in Wrocław (n = 629): University of Wrocław (UWr), Wrocław University of Science and Technology (PWr) and Wrocław Medical University (UM). The study used self-constructed questionnaires: physical activity questionnaire, health questionnaire, lifestyle questionnaire. The following statistical analyzes of the results were used: Shapiro-Wilk test, Pearson chi-square test independence, post-hoc test, analysis of variance (ANOVA), correlation coefficient rank (Spearman) and Pearson's correlation coefficient. In the calculations, the package of computer programs STATISTICA v. 9.0 was used. Hypotheses verified at the level of p ≤0.05. Results: Health was the highest-rated one of the studied factors. In addition, it was found that as much as 67.7% of students from all universities represent a very good level of lifestyle. 68.4% of the respondents were characterized by a very good health potential. Research has shown that the physical activity of students from Medical University is at a higher level than students of PWr and UWr. Among the demographic variables, gender turned out to be important (men perform physical activity more often than women, while BMI and place of origin did not affect the physical activity of students). Studies have confirmed the relationship between all major variables (physical activity, lifestyle and health). The increase in the level of physical activity is accompanied by an increase in the level of lifestyle. A positive correlation between lifestyle factor and health condition was also observed.

The main purpose of the work is to define and characterize the level of financial literacy of students coming from rural areas in the Malopolskie voivodship in 2018. The main source of data used was primary information from the author’s own study (the PAPI method, a group of 170 respondents). The research used a set of questions to assess the level of financial literacy of adults proposed by the OECD INFE. In addition to primary sources, Polish and foreign literature on the subject was also used to achieve the goal. Total statistical indicators (mean, minimum, maximum) were used for data analysis and the non-parametric chi-square test (χ2). As results from the analysis, students are characterised by an average level of financial literacy, which may indicate a low effectiveness of financial education activities carried out at various levels of education in Poland. The factors determining the level of financial literacy of rural youth were gender and the field of study. Men and people studying economics were characterized by a higher level of financial literacy. Financial behaviour is a component of financial literacy in which students received the lowest results. The minimum target score in this module was obtained by only 24% of people.
Celem artykułu jest określenie i charakterystyka poziomu świadomości finansowej młodzieży akademickiej pochodzącej z obszarów wiejskich w województwie małopolskim w 2018 roku. Zasadniczym źródłem danych wykorzystanych do analizy i wnioskowania były informacje pierwotne uzyskane z badań własnych (metoda PAPI, 170 respondentów). W badaniach wykorzystano zestaw pytań umożliwiający ocenę poziomu świadomości finansowej osób dorosłych zaproponowany przez OECD INFE. Poza źródłami pierwotnymi wykorzystano polską i zagraniczną literaturę przedmiotu. Do analizy danych zastosowano sumaryczne wskaźniki statystyczne (średnia, minimum, maksimum) oraz nieparametryczny test chi-kwadrat (χ2). Jak wynika z przeprowadzonej analizy, studenci cechują się średnim poziomem świadomości finansowej, co może wskazywać na niską efektywność działań z zakresu edukacji finansowej, realizowanych na różnych poziomach edukacji. Czynnikami determinującymi poziom świadomości finansowej były płeć oraz kierunek studiów. Wyższym poziomem świadomości finansowej cechowali się mężczyźni oraz osoby studiujące na kierunkach ekonomicznych. Zachowania finansowe to komponent świadomości finansowej, w przypadku którego studenci otrzymali najniższe rezultaty. Minimalny docelowy wynik w tym module uzyskało tylko 24% osób.

Aim. The research aim of this article is to explore academic youth’s education process and career in the UK. The research focuses on Lithuanian students from three prestigious British universities. Methods. The study revealed three questions: the reasons of students choises to study in prestigious higher schools of the UK, students’ satisfaction in terms of their education process; their placement in the labor market, or academic/business career. To answer the research questions qualitative research was conducted by using structured, partly-structured in-depth interviews, the questionnaire forms, discussions, and observation methods. Results. The analysis of the empirical research data revealed that the determining factor of students’ choices was the high quality of the studies and international work perspectives after graduation as well as the rating of the universities and the recommendations of senior fellow students, progressive learning and living environment. Furthermore, they had the possibility to become part of the international social web. The results of the survey indicate that students give more value to individualism emphasizing achievement, critical thinking, high level of education. They also appreciate the possibilities to apply knowledge in real-world setings, also to the career in international business or academic field, which is garanteed by most reputable universities. In such evironment students are encouraged to be responsible actors and to create a more sustainable world (UNESCO (ESD), 2017). Cognitive value. With the help of a case study of education in the UK, the paper reveals the sustainable education perspectives.

The outlining of the values appreciated by academic youth and their perception of the possibilities of implementing and fulfilling them was based on the international comparative research conducted in 2019–2021 in the Polish-Czech-Slovak-Ukrainian borderland. In the pedagogical analysis undertaken in the study of this subject matter, some theoretical and methodological conceptualizations were applied, which referred to: (1) Ronald F. Inglehart’s concept of changes of values, (2) the objectivistic approach to values and axiological maturity according to Adam Węgrzecki and (3) comparative analysis in international studies. Comparing the declarations of student groups in the investigated environments reveals significant differences in all value assessments, except for the implementation of moral values and a respectable life. The analysis and interpretation of the collected empirical material also indicate that the image of university students’ axiological preferences is characterized – in the context of Inglehart’s theory – mainly by secular-rational authority and post-materialism aimed at achieving a particular quality of life.

Opis:
The purpose of this article is to draw attention to the numerous transformations taking place in the contemporary reality, including the world of work, which influence people’s professional career and the success achieved through it. This article presents the results of own research concerning career success as perceived from the perspective of young people. The studies were conducted among academic students and students of vocational school complexes using the diagnostic survey method, which involved the survey technique and the questionnaire survey tool. Within them, particular attention was paid to two aspects of this issue: its objective and subjective nature, as well as the assessment of own chances for achieving it within one’s career path. The results of the studies prove that the surveyed youth perceives success in a career to a large extent in a subjective manner and that the vast majority take a positive attitude towards their own professional future. The resulting empirical material may carry important implications for the educational practice. It shows, what skills and knowledge should be taught to young people preparing them to enter the labour market.

In the philosophical-pedagogical analysis of the undertaken issues, some theoretical and methodological conceptualizations have been applied that refer to Paweł Boski’s theory of the cultural identity based on values and practices in bi-or multicultural socialization and Harold J. Noah’s model of the comparison of academic education. The assumption was also made that the research into the quality of life of Polish and Ukrainian university students enables one to learn the way(s) in which students understand themselves, the others and the world - the way(s) anchored in their own experience and culture. The undertaken studies also address the important problem of forming students’ identity in the stage of the so called emerging adulthood. It occurs in the countries where a knowledge-based economy dominates and where the intensive changes both decrease the young’s motivation to engage in adult roles and make the young postpone them.

Aim. This paper aims to learn about the opinions of university students of education on selected aspects of attachment parenting as well as to present those opinions. The problem is not only important from the point of view of the individual histories but it also has a wider, societal dimension. The more rational and healthy parental decisions there are, the better off society gets. The detailed research problems posed in this paper include the opinions of attachment by the respondents regarding the preparation for parenthood; what importance they attribute to hugging the child by the parent; what the opinions of the respondents on positive discipline are, and what their knowledge of the perils related to physical contact is. Materials and methods. The study was conducted using a diagnostic interview with a group of 124 education students at the University of Zielona Gora. Results. The results show that respondents lack knowledge of the importance of physical contact in child development. The reluctance expressed by male respondents to educate themselves as well as prepare for fatherhood may be considered a serious social issue. The fact that, at the same time, they don’t accept positive discipline and approve of corporal punishment, which is expressed by over half of the male respondents, seems especially worrying.
Cel. Celem artykułu jest poznanie i zaprezentowanie opinii studentów na temat wybranych aspektów rodzicielstwa bliskości. Zagadnienie to jest istotne nie tylko z perspektywy indywidualnych losów, lecz ma także wymiar ogólnospołeczny. Im więcej świadomych, zdrowych zachowań rodzicielskich, tym zdrowsze społeczeństwo. Szczegółowe problemy badawcze postawione w pracy dotyczyły tego, jakie są opinie badanych osób na temat przygotowania do rodzicielstwa, jak respondenci oceniają przytulanie dziecka w relacji rodzic-dziecko, jakie są opinie badanych studentów dotyczące pozytywnej dyscypliny oraz jaka jest wiedza respondentów dotycząca zagrożeń związanych z dotykiem. Materiał i metody. Badania przeprowadzono metodą sondażu diagnostycznego w grupie 124 studentów Uniwersytetu Zielonogórskiego. Wyniki. Uzyskane wyniki badań wskazują na niski poziom wiedzy respondentów dotyczący znaczenia stymulacji dotykowej dla rozwoju dziecka. Brak potrzeby edukacji w obszarze rodzicielstwa oraz brak chęci i gotowości do przygotowania się do roli ojca wyrażone w opiniach badanych mężczyzn można spostrzegać jako duży problem społeczny. Niepokojący jest także brak akceptacji dla pozytywnej dyscypliny przy jednoczesnej aprobacie kar fizycznych wyrażony przez ponad połowę respondentów płci męskiej.

Opis:
The article is a research report on candidates for archaeological studies, for which the source of data was the Internet Candidate Registration (IRK) system of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. The analysis was carried out on a sample of 695 people admitted to the first year of archeology at UMK, with the material covering the period from 2007 to 2017. It was decided to build the profile of candidates for students based on six criteria: the size of the hometown and its distance from Toruń, gender, age of the candidates, completed secondary school, results of secondary school-leaving exams and recruitment decisions of candidates (priority system). As researchers, we had no influence on the set of data we had at our disposal, the work was carried out using an already existing database, the primary purpose of which was not research or analyzes similar to ours. The text presents conclusions and generalizations based on proprietary tools for the analysis of the existing database. The conclusions, although they concern archeology itself and candidates for archeology, may be a starting point for further analyzes of other majors. Archaeologists can use these outcomes to evaluate the condition of their discipline
