The author indicates a few of the most common experiences that are encountered, particularly in single-player open-world games where exploration of the world plays a large part of the enjoyment of a game. The experiences mentioned in the essay are: arrival in the world, the gaining of an objective, the revelation of the expansiveness of the world, the first contact with the world’s residents, world routines, travel to the world’s boundaries, and the completist’s exhaustion of the world when one has seen and experienced everything.

From the sinking of the Titanic to the end of World War II, the history of the 20th century conforms to and confirms the behavioral model of stupidity as the learned inability to learn: That is a normal, dysfunctional learning process which occurs when a schema formed by linguistic biases and social norms acts via the neurotic paradox to establish a positive feedback system which becomes first self-sustaining and then renders behavior irrelevant to the environment by carrying detached actions to maladaptive excesses.

Goethe’s philosophical writings all ultimately stem from his efforts to understand the creative act, which he experienced as essentially the same in all the various forms of activity he engaged in, the writing of his poems, novels and plays, his scientific investigations, his service to the Weimar state and participation in the life of its court. In contemplating his creative experience, he developed a unique conception of the soul, which this article seeks to analyze.

Objectives: The aim of this article is to identify the main weaknesses in Poland in combating corruption in the context of the World Bank’s experiences. Research Design & Methods: Various notions of corruption will be presented. This article will also indicate the most important conclusions from a number of previous scientific studies in the field of corruption conducted under the aegis of the World Bank. Findings: Reducing motivation to accept or provide undue benefits is directly related to an increased effectiveness in detecting corruption. The World Bank also points out that one of the most effective tools in fighting corruption is counteracting the legalisation of benefits obtained through corrupt activities. Contribution: In the Polish perspective, a positive correlation between a weaker, less operational state apparatus and the frequency of corruption will be shown.

Opis:
RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: This article seeks to outline what may be called a ‘diagnosis’ of the relationship between the church and the world, according to the English blessed, John Henry Newman. In his opinion, this relationship will always be conflictive and it is destined to remain so (an account that seems to be confirmed, and perhaps even accentuated, in our time).THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The discussion, following a brief hermeneutic because of its limited extension, reflects on Newman’s thesis relevant in its thought: the church-world opposition, an opposition on which this author is highly descriptive, and whose approaches do not have any ambiguity.THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The argumentative line of the article stops at three points consistent with each other and coherent within the British religious’s exposition: 1. The customs of the church and the world differ completely. 2. Wanting to adopt the criteria of the world is always a dangerous lure for the church. 3. A dichotomous relationship with the world, a world fallen by sin, is a natural condition for the church.RESEARCH RESULTS: The evident tension between the church and the world emerges from the analysis carried out in the investigation.CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS: What is the usual framework of the relationship between the church and the world according to Cardinal Newman? This question, tacitly present in this article, is answered by Newman in a negative way (as it shows with well-founded reasons, in my opinion, a problematic bond which dates from the beginning of the church and that in the future will continue to be so). His thesis confirms and expresses an essential discordance between two realms of different condition: a temporal one, the world, and an eternal one, the church. From his writings on this subject, it is concluded that the mission of the church is to evangelize the world in an incessant way, although the results of it seem always a little insufficient and even infertile.

Opis:
In comprehensive preparation of a player to football competition special attention is paid to his predispositions in terms of speed abilities. Therefore, the authors’ objective was to analyse maximum locomotor speed of players of the four best national teams competing during the FIFA World Cup in Brazil, including specifying the differences in terms of speeds of these national teams and players in corresponding playing positions of individual teams. The analysis used data obtained using the Castrol Performance Index, a kinematic method and in order to present significance of differences between the studied teams and playing positions one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was performed. The study showed that the mean maximum running speed of the players of the four best teams of the World Cup was 8.34 metres/ second. The mean maximum locomotive speed of the defenders in semi-finalist teams of the tournament was 8.29 m/s, while the midfielders’ speed was – 8.16 m/s, the forwards’ – 8.48 m/s and the goalkeepers’ – 7.40 m/s. The players who had a maximum speed of 9 m/s or more were the Dutchman Ron Vlaar (9.16 m/s) and the Argentines José María Basanta (9.09 m/s) and Ángel Di Maria (9.17 m/s). There is no significant difference between the world’s best teams, including between their corresponding playing positions, in the level of maximum running speeds determining the dynamics of the game.

This article provides an explanation for the single and puzzling Tocharian B gloss śaiṣṣe ‘world’ (instead of Tocharian A ārkiśoṣi) for Sanskrit jagat- ‘world’ on a Sanskrit fragment SHT 4438 with all the other glosses in Tocharian A. Based on a detailed study of the Sanskrit and Chinese texts, Tocharian A ārkiśoṣi is very likely the loan translation of Sanskrit sā̆bhāloka(dhātu)- ‘a world with radiance’, which is preserved in the Chinese translations by Kumārajīva and other translators connected with Kucha. In the Kucha area, the first part sā̆bhā- was understood as containing -(ā)bhā- ‘radiance’. Buddhist Sanskrit sa(b)hāloka(dhātu)- is built from sa(b)hāpati- ‘master of sa(b)hā world’, epithet of the highest divinity Brahmā in the sahāloka-, which derives via Middle Indic from the older epithet sabhāpati- ‘owner of the assembly hall’ in Atharvaveda. The excursus at the end offers a glimpse into the complicated transmission process of Chinese Buddhist terminology based on the analysis of Chinese sha men ‘monk’ and he shang ‘teacher, monk’.

Color revolutions is a term which was widely used to describe related movements that developed in several societies in the CIS (former USSR) and Balkan states during the early 2000s. The term has also been applied to a number of revolutions elsewhere, including the Middle East. Participants in the color revolutions have mostly used nonviolent resistance, also called civil resistance. Such methods as demonstrations, strikes and interventions have been intended protest against governments seen as corrupt and authoritarian, and to advocate democracy; and they have also created strong pressure for change. These movements generally adopted a specific color or flower as their symbol. The color revolutions are notable for the important role of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and particularly student activists in organising creative non-violent resistance. Such movements have had a measure of success, for example: The Rose Revolution in Georgia (2003), The Orange Revolution in Ukraine (2004), The Tulip Revolution in Kyrgyzstan, also sometimes called the “Pink Revolution” (2005), Blue Revolution in Kuwait (2005), Green Revolution in Iran (2009), Jasmine Revolution in Tunisia (2010–2011).

Practically everywhere around the world we encounter some form of conflict. The different views, needs, values (whether individuals or the whole society) are causing contradicts in different areas of our lives. Clearly, the conflict is a vital component of the society's life, and each of us was most likely a part of a larger or lesser conflict during his/her life. Conflict is a natural part of our lives which will push us further. Sociology is the study of social relationships, social interaction and culture of everyday life and one of the basic principles says that a constant conflict is vital for society where in the end new balance in the life is found. Mediation is an effective tool for dealing with these conflicts which is mostly used in resolving litigation, but there are other areas of use for mediation, which will be further explained in this document. Although mediation has been placed in our legal relatively recently, it has a rich history and firm place in the life of society. The new history of mediation goes back to the eighteenth century, when this was used as a tool to prevent expensive and time-consuming litigations. The institutionalized form of mediation was introduced for the first time at the beginning of the last century in the United States. Although directive 2008/52/EC of the European Parliament and Council from 21 May 2008 on certain aspects of mediation in civil and commercial matters should ensure a certain unity of national arrangements it is clear, that individual countries have different approach to legislative matters. I believe that it will be interesting to compare our legislation with the other countries but given the scope of the article I will focus only on the few selected states.

The biggest threats to contemporary economic order were chronologically the bipolarity of the world after 1945, in which one of the poles despised money and the other based its prosperity on money. An attempt to create a unipolar world already dominated by the US dollar, practically was hardly acceptable. The US showed its strength when Japan in 1995 became a pretender to be No. 1 in the global economy. Also in 2008, American banks triggered a global financial crisis by creating bubbles of toxic real estate loans. The 2008 financial crisis also started a crisis of liberal democracy. China was much more powerful than Japan as the next pretender to become No. 1 in the global economy. About it can be seen as the beginning of a global conflict between the United States and China. In addition, the coronavirus pandemic has stopped globalization and is causing a global crisis.

Opis:
Sports diplomacy is a means to influence diplomatic, social and political relations through sports. However, the sports and politics have had both positive and negative implications over history. On the one hand, sports diplomacy significantly contributes to building ever-strengthening relations among nations, sports federations and athletes which help to support world peace. On the other hand, everyday practice reveals cases of implementing negative impacts on organising sporting events such as financial and political influences, or even bribery and corruption. One of the most frequently criticised examples of the failure of the ideals of sport is organisation the 2022 FIFA World Cup which is scheduled to take place in Qatar. Football has always been the most popular sport in the world and its most significant quadrennial championship always attracts attention of millions of people worldwide. Decision to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup in the Middle East country evoked various suspicions, as the decision may be connected with possibilities of money laundering and other financial profits.
