There are contradictive explanations in the literature on the impulse buying behavior. Some research shows that consumers view impulse buying normatively wrong, while other research reveals that consumers buy impulsively. The purpose of this study is to examine the motivations of impulse buying behavior and to investigate the relationship between each set of motivation and decisions which lead to university students’ impulse buying behavior. Multiple regression analysis was used to determine the predictors of impulse buying behavior. The results show that hedonistic desires, perceived decision-making accuracy and perceived decision effort were the determinants of impulse buying. As a recommendation, business strategies targeting Malaysians in this university should be carried out by considering their potential motivations and university students should not over-rely on their impulsiveness traits as complimentary purchasing alternative.

Assisted living institutions such as nursing homes were established to answer a vital social need. Such services are needed by the elderly, disabled, and chronically ill. The social demand for these institutions is growing due to a deficit of care functions in families, among other factors. Undoubtedly, assisted living institutions play a vital role by providing help and assistance to less-independent individuals, and for many, they are a chance for survival or a dignified life because they offer food and shelter. However, nursing homes as assisted living institutions are not limited to satisfying the needs of their residents. There is something surprising and worrying about their functioning. To use R.K. Merton’s terminology, they operate according to latent functions that maintain social order and social control. To better understand the problem, it is worth looking at Erving Goffman’s popular theory of total institutions and Niklas Luhmann’s social systems theory.

Purpose: The article aims to formulate basic assumptions defining the resilience of complex systems falling within social logistics' scope of interest. The article emphasizes the importance of general systems theory for the contemporary understanding of management sciences, with particular emphasis on logistics. The authors of the article have also characterized, based on the current state of literature, the concept of social logistics as one of the three "clean" types of logistics, positioning it alongside military and economic logistics Design/methodology/approach: The article presents an overview of approaches to the crystallizing issue of social logistics in literature. The analyzed object of research was referred to the general theory of systems and conclusions were drawn in the form of proposals to shape the social logistics system. In addition, the authors presented an original proposal for the composition of the social logistics system based on observation of the activities of social entities and in-depth analysis of Polish and foreign literature. Findings: Then it was proposed to consolidate the term 'social logistics system resilience' and to conduct empirical research along with an outline of the research procedure. The proposed research procedure will be used and the results of research conducted in accordance with it – described in subsequent articles of the authors. Social implications: In the article, it was concluded that the subject of the study is relatively broad, and the link between the topic of social logistics and supply chain resilience is a research gap that will be filled by series of articles, the starting link of which is this one. The analyzes contained in the article refer to a large extent to the problems of comfort in social life, with particular emphasis on human needs of a social nature. Originality/value The originality of the article express in compiling the issues of social logistics with issues of systems’ resilience. In the face of the constantly observed negative phenomena disrupting the functioning of social logistics systems, the topic of their resilience is of particular importance.

Celem prezentowanego badania była ocena społecznego wpływu pandemii COVID-19 na pacjentów z przewlekłą chorobą nerek, populację szczególnie narażoną na liczne powikłania w przypadku zarażenia się wirusem SARS-CoV-2. Autorzy skupili się na analizie problemów społecznych, które pojawiły się i nasiliły w pierwszej fazie pandemii. W badaniu wzięło udział 117 pacjentów leczonych w CKD, skierowanych do otrzymania pomocy socjalnej. Zaobserwowano wzrost liczby osób kierowanych do otrzymania pomocy. Nowych zgłoszeń było 37,6%, a 62,4% z nich związane było z pogorszeniem społeczno-ekonomicznej sytuacji pacjenta – głównie deprywacją ekonomiczną lub brakiem dochodów, bezrobociem i izolacją społeczną. Złożoność interwencji socjalnej była wyższa wśród osób z nasilonymi problemami społecznymi. Wyniki otrzymanych badań mają nie tylko walor naukowy, lecz także praktyczny – pozwalają pracownikom socjalnym na planowanie pomocy skoncentrowanej na najistotniejszych problemach pojawiających się w kontekście wyzwań pandemicznych.
This study aimed to assess the social impact of COVID-19 on chronic kidney disease patients, a vulnerable population, by analysing the social problems that emerged and aggravated during the pandemic’s first phase. 117 CKD patients on treatment, referred to Social Work, participated in this study. New referrals were 37.6%, and 62.4% were aggravated situations, presenting mostly economic deprivation or lack of income, unemployment, and social isolation. The social intervention complexity was higher among those with aggravated social problems. The results allow social workers to plan interventions focused on the most relevant emerging issues in a pandemic challenging context.

The article presents an overview of social considerations for location of renewable energy production sites (wind or solar farms) at the overburden disposal areas situated inside Jóźwin II B and Jóźwin IIA open pits of the PAK Konin Lignite Mine which are researched in frame of the SUMAD project (entitled “Sustainable Use of Mining Waste Dumps”). The article includes a preliminary investigation of socio-economic variables in order to verify if the new function planned for the post-mining areas meets the needs of a local community.
W artykule przedstawiono przegląd uwarunkowań społecznych związanych z lokalizacją miejsc produkcji energii odnawialnej (farm wiatrowych lub słonecznych) na wewnętrznych zwałowiskach górniczych zlokalizowanych w obrębie odkrywek Jóźwin IIB i Jóźwin IIA PAK Kopalni Węgla Brunatnego Konin, które są przedmiotem badań w ramach projektu SUMAD (pt. “Zrównoważone wykorzystanie zwałowisk górniczych”). Artykuł obejmuje wstępne badanie zmiennych społeczno-ekonomicznych w celu sprawdzenia, czy nowa funkcja planowana dla terenów pogórniczych odpowiada potrzebom lokalnej społeczności.

Introduction: This paper focuses on providing social care to a close relative. It is crucial in social services. Design: qualitative methodology – method of semi-structured interviews. Methods: respondents were selected to satisfy specific criteria. Particularly, these criteria were the care of a close relative who was assigned level III or IV care benefits. Another criterion according to which we selected respondents was that the carer belonged to the age group in which a person is still usually economically active. The research sample consisted of 6 respondents. Results: Based on the data analysis, we created categories to present the content of semi-structured interviews. Needs focusing on the body carried over into maintenance of one’s own physical and mental health are: the need for safety, the need for acceptance, the need for acknowledgement and respect, and the need for self-fulfilment and perspective. Conclusions: It is important to identify the care of a close relative, the specifics and needs, in the interests of configuring effective management of medical, psychological and social care, and creation of a system of social protection.

Dynamic of the society development is associated with extension of social problems, notably in educational context. The role of school, as the main public institution for social development of the students, is now obvious throughout the world. Consequently the role of social workers in schools is becoming essential, especially in terms of the inclusion of marginalized children from the opportunity of education, by impacting the educational system, to meet the diverse needs of all learners. Social work is focused on the welfare of individuals by increasing and developing their potential, so it goes hand in hand with inclusive education for children with disabilities, which emphasizes the children’ rights to obtain a definite, qualitative and suitable education in regular schools. The main focus of this study was to draw a clear panorama of the school social workers’ role towards the processes of inclusiveness of students with disabilities in Albanian regular schools. The data were collected via in-depth interviews with eight school social workers of the secondary schools in Korça region. The results showed that social service in schools is very important for helping students to develop social competences, intermediating parents in utilizing school and community resources, identifying and reporting bullying phenomenon, etc. School social workers could play a key role to implement the educational reform, which is being undertaken in Albania. Interviewees also shared their difficulties regarding the practical work, especially obstacles related to inclusive education processes.

Aim. The aim of this thesis is to present the impact of students exclusion (including SPEs) on their virtual behaviour in social media. Students with no special educational needs and those with SEN were taken into account. The relationship between exclusion of SPE and digitisation exclusion will be indicated . In addition, social exclusion in the family area was included. Methods: The analysis was based on statistical methods, such as: range, standard deviation, variance. Surveys were used. They were conducted on the Internet through the Facebook social portal on a national and global scale. Results: Respondents from around the world feel more excluded by the SPE than respondents in Poland. In contrast, respondents from the SPE use fewer social networking sites than in groups of computer players, both in Poland and worldwide. Conclusions: In Poland, SPE is not a barrier to communication with peers for most respondents, unlike global respondents. Respondents from the SPE spend less time on social portals because it absorbs their time devoted to learning, which can be an indicator of digital exclusion. Cognitive value: The originality of the research is to focus on introducing the global and Polish scale of the problem excluding students from SPE from the social media, which was calculated by the author’s method based on the indicator digital exclusion.

At this moment, the presence of foreigners in our country is one of the importan problems aefcting society in Poland. eTh unstable situation on the eastern border with Belarus and numerous attempts to illegally cross the border by emigrants - refug from, among others, Syria, Iraq, or Afghanistan, are one of the very popular topic of public and media disputes or topics discussed by politicians. This topic is very important and crucial - it concerns first of all respect for human rights in relation those people. Nevertheless, in Poland, apart from the problem of illegal foreigne there are also citizens of other countries who reside legally in our country. Curre it is a growing group, whose members are not citizens of our country, but they ar an increasingly important part of our society. eThrefore, it is worth taking up this topic and reflecting on the situation of foreigners who reside legally in Poland. eTh subject of this article is the issue of social security of foreigners staying in Poland. Th basic research question to which this article is to answer is the question of wheth foreigners legally residing in the territory of the Republic of Poland are guaran social security - it means if they have ability to live, survive and develop. eTh article will use the method of an interview and a survey conducted among foreigners livin in our country, as well as an analysis of available documents and sources regardi the situation of foreigners in Poland. eTh results of the research and analyzes indicat that the situation of foreigners in Poland is relatively correct, but not in all are needs of this group are fully satisfied.

The development of social competence is reflected in the individual’s potential for constructive cooperation and behavior in social situations, in the possibility of establishing interpersonal relationships and understanding different viewpoints and in the capability of to tolerance and compassion. The purpose of this research paper is to compare teachers’ opinions on attained social competence of pupils with special needs and other pupils. A questionnaire for teachers was adapted. Pupils with special needs were slightly better at accepting diversity and difference and demonstrated a higher level of politeness than other pupils.
