    Cancer and cardiovascular diseases are a leading causes of morbidity and mortality in developed countries. Cardiological complications of oncological treatment are a  significant problem that can be manifested in both permanent and transient cardiac dysfunction including myocardial damage, left ventricular dysfunction, and heart failure, hypertension, ischemia, as well as arrhythmias or QT prolongation, which can be life-threatening. Early detection of cardiotoxicity due to cancer treatment is crucial in the prevention of adverse cardiovascular outcomes in this group of patients. In this review we try to summarize the role of biomarkers in the detection of cardiotoxicity due to cancer treatment.

    The theoretical and cognitive aim of the research was to find out the opinions and knowledge of teachers in the field of education about old age. The research was carried out among 106 teachers from primary schools in the Opolskie Voivodeship using the diagnostic survey method, the questionnaire technique.
    Teoretycznym i poznawczym celem badań było poznanie opinii i wiedzy nauczycieli w zakresie edukacji o starości. Badania przeprowadzono wśród 106 nauczycieli szkół podstawowych województwa opolskiego metodą sondażu diagnostycznego, techniką ankiety. Jako narzędzie wykorzystano oryginalny kwestionariusz.

    The paper examines the representation of Seneca in two literary works of the late 1st and early 2nd centuries AD, the anonymous tragedy Octavia and the Annals by Tacitus. In the Octavia Seneca appears as the emperor Nero’s upright but unhappy teacher trying in vain to inculcate salutary advice to his master. There is no question of his being responsible for the crimes of Nero; the picture of him drawn in the play is wholly favourable. The portrayal of Seneca in Tacitus’ Annals is more complex and nuanced, and only seldom does the historian give his own views about Nero’s advisor. However, it would be wrong to suppose that Seneca is harshly criticised by Tacitus.

    The past 25 years has seen the increasing use of commercially contracted firms to provide logistic support to Western armies, especially in the British, US, and Australian militaries. The resulting integration of civilian and military logistic personnel and systems to form a joint military-civilian/ public-private integrated logistic system has required a number of adjustments and changes in order for the product to be efficient, effective, and functional and remains a dynamic and ongoing process. In 2018, commercial logistic support is now at the point where certain militaries are deploying non-military logistic contractors forward into 1st and 2nd line logistic support roles. This article will briefly describe the western military trend to commercial logistic contracting, highlighting key points and considerations of which any military will require awareness, if contemplating a similar expansion. It will also emphasise that this growth of civilian contracting has been predicated on low intensity, counterinsurgency conflicts such as deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan. 1st and 2nd line commercial logistic support hence remains completely untested in the event of a potential peer or near-peer conflict. The untested nature of commercial contracting in a forward support role is the greatest potential critical vulnerability of militarycivilian integrated logistic systems, especially in the context of a potential NATO Article V -type conflict. The lessons for the Polish military as it considers greater integration of military and civilian logistics as part of a modernised force structure are clear.

    The Article Messages to the Seven Churches in “Johannes Offenbarung” by Johann Gottfried Herder refers to the publication in Polish Siedem bram. Komentarz do Apokalipsy 2–3 według “Johannes Offenbarung” Johanna Gottfrieda Herdera, in: Veritatem revelare. Księga Pamiątkowa dedykowana ks. dr. hab. S. Ewertowskiemu, prof. UWM. W 40-lecie święceń kapłańskich i 65-lecie urodzin, ed. M. Karczewski, S. Mikołajczak, J. Ruciński, Faculty of Theology University of Warmia and Mazury, Olsztyn 2017, p. 107–118. However in the English-language article significantly expanded the number of quotes from the original source, the scientific bibliography has been supplemented, the theological conclusion were refined, the content of the publication has been extended. The article is a contribution too further research on the biblical hermeneutic of Johann Gottfried Herder. Scientific discussion on this subject is not free from simplifications and opinions not entirely legitimate. The article contains an introduction, two main parts and conclusion. The main parts contain: 1) a short description of the scientific and ecclesiastical career of J.G. Herder; discussion of his theological works; characteristics of J.G. Herder as a biblist and 2) analysis of the Messages to the Seven Churches contained in his commentary on the Revelation. The basic source is Maran atha. Das Buch von der Zukunft des Herrn. Des Neuen Testaments Siegel. 1779 issued originally in Riga and in the edition of J.G. Müller in Stuttgart and Tübingen in the Johann Gottfried von Herder’s Sämtliche Werke. Zur Religion und Theologie. Zwölfter Theilseries, 1829, pp. 8–291 along with additional texts on the Revelation of St. John from 1773–1778. A biblical commentary to Rev. 2–3, along with its unusual scientific style and preaching, is a valuable source of knowledge about Herder’s biblical interpretation. This allows you to get acquainted with Herder’s original theology, which, flowing from the Word of God, is based on three pillars: Christology, pneumatology and ecclesiology. Theological message of J.G. Herder contained in the discussed part of the commentary on the Revelation has, over many points, the value above the confessional and timeless.

Komentarz do Apokalipsy 2 – 3 według „Johannes Offenbarung” Johanna Gottfrieda Herdera, w: Veritatem revelare. Księga Pamiątkowa dedykowana ks. S. Ewertowskiemu w 40-lecie święceń kapłańskich i 65-lecie urodzin, red. M. Karczewski, S. Mikołajczak, J. Ruciński, Wydział Teologii UWM, Olsztyn 2017, s. 107 – 118. Jednak w artykule angielskojęzycznym poszerzono znacznie ilość cytatów z oryginalnego źródła, uzupełniono bibliografię naukową, dopracowano wnioski teologiczne, poszerzono zasadniczą treść publikacji. Artykuł stanowi przyczynek do dalszych badań nad hermeneutyką biblijną Johanna Gottfrieda Herdera. W dyskusji naukowej na ten temat nie brakuje bowiem uproszczeń i opinii nie do końca uprawnionych. Artykuł zawiera wstęp, dwie części główne oraz zakończenie. Części główne są dedykowane odpowiednio: (1) krótkiej charakterystyce rozwoju naukowego oraz kariery kościelnej J.G. Herdera; omówieniu jego twórczości teologicznej; charakterystyce twórczości J.G. Herdera jako biblisty oraz (2) analizie Listów do Kościołów zawartych w jego komentarzu do Apokalipsy. Źródło podstawowe stanowi tekst Maran atha. Das Buch von der Zukunft des Herrn. Des Neuen Testaments Siegel. 1779 wydany pierwotnie w Rydze oraz w edycji J. G. Müllera w Stuttgarcie i Tybindze w serii Johann Gottfried von Herder’s Sämtliche Werke. Zur Religion und Theologie. Zwölfter Theil w roku 1829, s. 8 – 291 wraz z dodatkowymi tekstami dotyczącymi Apokalipsy św. Jana z lat 1773 – 1778. Komentarz biblijny do Ap 2 – 3, wraz z jego niezwykłym stylem naukowym i kaznodziejskim zarazem stanowi cenne źródło informacji o sposobach interpretacji tekstu biblijnego stosowanych przez J. G. Herdera. Jednocześnie pozwala zapoznać się bliżej oryginalną teologią Herdera, która wypływając ze Słowa Boga zdaje się bazować na trzech filarach: chrystologii, pneumatologii oraz eklezjologii. Przesłanie teologiczne J. G. Herdera zawarte w omawianej części komentarza do Apokalipsy św. Jana posiada w wielu punktach walor ponad konfesyjny i ponadczasowy.

    Opis:
    The influence of the parameters of wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM) on the surface layer of FeAl based sinters with and without Al2O3 nanoceramic addition has been studied in this paper. The properties of the sinters surface layer were controlled by WEDM parameters, including time of interval (tp) and amplitude of current (IA). The WEDM roughing and finishing treatments were carried out for selected technological parameters of process. The surface texture (ST) of the sinters after WEDM was analyzed by profilometer method. Theoretical parameters describing abrasive wear resistance of investigated sinters were estimated on the basis on the load capacity curve. On the basis on obtained results it can be stated that there is possibility of shaping geometry of nano- Al2O3 doped and undoped FeAl sinters by WEDM. Reduction of the time of interval (t p) and increase of current amplitude (IA) during WEDM deteriorate surface properties. Addition of nano- Al2O3 improve the quality of the obtained surface. Applied parameters of WEDM improve theoretical abrasive wear resistance and lubricant maintenance of the nanoceramic doped material in comparison with undoped sinter.
    W niniejszej pracy analizowano wpływ parametrów cięcia elektrozyjnego (ang. WEDM – wire electrical discharge machining) na warstwę wierzchnią spieków na osnowie fazy międzymetalicznej FeAl bez i z dodatkiem nanoceremiki Al2O3. Poprzez zmianę parametrów obróbki elektroerozyjnej, tj. czas przerwy (tp) i natężenie prądu (IA), sterowano właściwościami warstwy wierzchniej obrabianych spieków. Dla wybranych parametrów technologicznych procesu przeprowadzono obróbkę zgrubną i wykańczającą. Strukturę geometryczną powierzchni (SGP) spieków po obróbce elektroerozyjnej analizowano za pomocą metody profilometrycznej. Parametry charakteryzujące teoretyczną odporność na zużycie ścierne zostały oszacowane na podstawie krzywych nośności Abbotta-Firestone’a. Na podstawie uzyskanych wyników stwierdzono, że istnieje możliwość kształtowania geometrii spieków FeAl bez i z dodatkiem nanoceramiki Al2O3 za pomocą obróbki elektroerozyjnej WEDM. Wraz ze skróceniem czasu przerwy i wzrostem natężenia prądu podczas obróbki wzrasta chropowatość obrabianych powierzchni, natomiast dodatek nanoceramiki poprawia jakość otrzymanych powierzchni. Zastosowane parametry obróbki WEDM poprawiły teoretyczną odporność na zużycie ścierne i zdolność do przechowywania środka smarnego powierzchni spieków domieszkowanych nanoceramiką, w porównaniu do materiału niedomieszkowanego.
