Opis:
Increasing the volume of construction and meeting the requirements to reduce the cost of housing contribute to the flourishing of industrial housing. First, industrial housing is cheaper, and its construction is necessary for implementation of the state policy in relation to the needy in improvement of housing conditions of needy disabled citizens, and also their other categories enjoying the privileges provided by the legislation (social housing). Secondly, with the transition to the construction of residential buildings of modernized series, i.e. houses of modern consumer and operational qualities, it is possible to move to meet the needs of a wider range of consumers, namely the more affluent segments of the population, organizations and enterprises of various forms of ownership. Thus, project institutes have developed new standard series of panel buildings, allowing to build housing with increased kitchens, bathrooms, staircases, equipped with freight elevators. In the development of some standard series managed to ensure that modern panel houses have Bay Windows, French balconies, individual architectural solutions, non-standard input groups. Solutions for the development of a series of 25-storey houses, as well as industrial 3-room houses of the manor type for rural areas on the basis of products of large-panel housing (LPH) construction are being worked out. To date, there are 14 enterprises of efficiency and house-building plants in the Republic, of which 8 enterprises are subordinated to the Ministry of construction and architecture of the Republic of Belarus and 6 enterprises are in communal ownership, and all enterprises to a greater or lesser extent require the renewal of technological equipment, reconstruction of industrial buildings and structures. In order to solve this problem, a State comprehensive program for the development of the material and technical base of the construction industry was developed, within the framework of which investment projects for the reconstruction, modernization and technical re-equipment of LPH plants were implemented.

Opis:
The aim of the study was to present our experience with the postauricular island flap (pif) and clinical evaluation of the results following auricular conchal bowl reconstructions with the pif in patients after carcinoma resections. Material and methods. We analyzed results in 13 patients who underwent auricular conchal bowl reconstructions with pif following malignant tumor resection between 2000-2013. The patients were followed-up. We estimated early and long-term results after surgery including plastic surgeon’s and patient’s opinion. Results. The malignancies were completely excised in all patients, and there were no recurrences within 2 years of follow-up. Observed complications of conchal bowl reconstructions were venous congestion in two cases (15.3 %), and pinning of the operated ear in two patients (15.3%). Postoperative result was very good in 11 cases (both in the opinion of plastic surgeon and patients), whereas in two patients with pinning of the operated ear was satisfied. Conclusions. 1. Postauricular island flap reconstructions after auricular conchal bowl resections allowed for complete removal of malignant tumors with no evidence of recurrence, and also preserved proper conchal shape in the reconstructed ear. 2. Reconstructions of auricular conchal bowl with the postauricular island flap resulted in very good postoperative results, which confirms the efficiency of the applied technique. 3. Reconstructive surgery with postauricular island flap of individuals with partial auricular conchal bowl defects contributed to postoperative satisfaction in both patients and doctors’ estimations

Opis:
The aim of the study was to present our experience with post-auricular tube flap (ptf) and clinical evaluation of the results following auricular helical rim reconstruction with this technique in patients after trauma. Material and methods. We analyzed the results in 12 patients who underwent three-staged auricular helical rim reconstruction with ptf following trauma in the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery between 2005-2014. The patients were followed-up for at least 1 year. We evaluated early and long-term results after surgery including plastic surgeon’s and patient’s opinion. Results. Postoperative results were satisfactory (very good) in 10 cases, both in the opinion of the plastic surgeon and patients. Transient venous congestion of the helix occurred in two cases (16.6%). This complication did not have any influence on estimation of the results after surgery. Delayed wound healing in the poles of the reconstructed helical edge, as well as non-aesthetic helical scars with imperfections of helical rim, were seen in another two patients (16.6%). Conclusions. 1. Post-auricular tube flap reconstructions after helical rim trauma allowed for complete restoration of contour, size and orientation of the helix and the whole operated ear, which confirms the efficiency of the applied technique. 2. Reconstructive surgery with post-auricular tube flap in patients with auricular helical rim defects contributed to postoperative satisfaction in both patients and doctors’ estimations.

Opis:
Long resident peoples including Gwich’in, Inuvialuit, Copper Inuit, and Sami, Coast Salish and others have learned over countless generations of observation and experimentation to construct place-specific, biomimetic architecture. To learn more about the heritage value of long-resident peoples’ architecture, and to discover how their architecture can selectively inform adaptable architecture of the future. we engaged Inuit and First Nations knowledge-holders and young people in re-creating tradition-based shelters and housing. During the reconstructions, children and Elders alike expressed their enthusiasm and pride in the inventiveness and usefulness of their ancestral architectural wisdom. Several of the structures created during this research are still standing years later and continue to serve as emergency shelters for food harvesters. During extreme weather, the shelters contribute to a potentially widespread network of food harvester dwellings that would facilitate revitalization of traditional foodways. The re-creations indicate that building materials, forms, assembly technologies, and other considerations from the architecture of Indigenous peoples provide a valuable heritage resource for architects of the future.

The building of the Nowa Sól public library is located on Bankowa Street, in the Lubuskie Voivodeship. The new seat of the library has been here since 2011; it had previously been located in the building on Parafialna and Szkolna Streets, which did not comply with the requirements of a comfortable library and reading room. Renovations and reconstructions of this neoclassical building began in 2007 and took four years to finish. Over the years, the century- old building had changed, its function - from a residential villa, to a children’s hospital, and finally, a clinic for children. During construction works, rib and slab (Ackerman) floors were changed to concrete slabs with higher load-bearing strength and roof truss system replaced to accordingly to the original design. A new lift was built, and the library reading rooms and archives were expanded. The building also gained a new facade as well as new wooden windows and doors. The entire building is surrounded by a park.

Opis:
Objectives: The aim is to assess the relationship of the anterior ethmoid artery with the upper attachment of the uncinate process and their relation with the lateral lamella of the cribriform plate in multiplanar reconstructions (i.e. coronal, axial and sagittal) of Computed Tomography. We measured the depth of the olfactory fossa, the length of the LLCP and determined the most superior attachment of the uncinate process, which designates boundaries of the frontal recess anteriorly, laterally and medially [4, 6]. Methods: All CT examinations were performed with the 320-detector Aquilion ONE CT scanner (Canon Medical Systems, Otawara, Japan). Axial, coronal, sagittal reconstruction were performed with dedicated workstation software (Vitrea Enterprise Suite, version 6.7; Vital images, Minnetonka USA). The Statistica13 software was used for analysis and the results were considered statistically significant at the level of P < 0.05. Results: The most frequent types of UP according to Landsberg-Friedman criteria in the group of men are: type I – 30.77%, type II – 30.77%, type III – 26.92%, type VI – 7.69%, type V – 3.85%, type IV – 0%. In women’s group: type III – 44.12%, type II – 32.35%, type I – 8.82%, type V – 8.82%, type IV – 5.88%, type VI – 0%. The median LLCP length in the anterior-posterior dimension is 13 mm i.e. Yenigun type II on both sides. The median value of depth in the superior-inferior dimension of LLCP in the ethmoid roof is 5 mm i.e. Keros type II on both sides. The mean distance between AEA and UAUP is approximately 9.73 mm and 9.16 mm on the right and left side respectively. Conclusions: The assessment of AEA,UAUP and configuration of the anterior skull base in CT multiplanar reconstructions contributes to optimizing the results of frontal sinus surgery.

This paper aims to present how the past is viewed in contemporary cultural and social narratives, and defines contemporary attitude to the past among Poles. My deliberations are placed in the context of the present-day society/culture and their constituting processes, namely the phenomenon of forgetting the past, democratization of the past, its privatization/individualization, commodification of the past and new ways of experiencing it. The paper will specifically concentrate on the archaeological past - that is the past created by archaeologists, and on archaeological heritage. It address three crucial issues, namely: (1) how changes in the historical context of post-1989 Poland influenced the emergence the renaissance of the past and different narratives about it; (2) what are the most important and widespread forms of presenting and/or experiencing the archaeological past in the present?, and (3) what are the main motivations that lie behind contemporary Poles interest in the past, archaeological heritage and activities undertaken around it? Finally, it is argued that the changes in the people’s attitudes towards the past have led also to a transformation in the hierarchy of aims and methods in education and dissemination of the knowledge about the past within institutions concerned with the past on a professional level.

The palaeolandscaps reconstruction and changes in the boundaries of the physicogeographical countries and zones of Ukraine during the end of Early and the fi rst half of Middle Pleistocene are examined. The section spans from MIS 20 to MIS 12, time interval 430–800 kyr and includefi ve stratigraphic units. This study is based on palynological, microtheriological, malacological analyzes and literature data. Our results support signifi cant changes, which can be associated with the cold and warm stages, but this study demonstrates that the surface and boundaries of the Pleistocene biostratigraphic units do not always coincide with the surface of the climatostratigraphic subunits identifi ed on the basis of palaeogeographic reconstructions.
Abstrakt: Według nowego Schematu Stratygrafi cznego Plejstocenu Ukrainy klimatolity przyazowski, martonoszski, sulski, łubenski i tiligulski korelowane są z końcową częścią wczesnego i pierwszą połową środkowego plejstocenu według międzynarodowej skali stratygrafi cznej oraz z 20-12 MIS. Z kriochronami przyazowską, sulską i tiligulską wiązała się sedymentacja lessów i osadów lessopodobnych; podczas kriochrony tiligulskiej lądolód skandynawski (Krukenycki, Okski) objął północno-zachodnią Ukrainę. Podczas termochron martonoszskiej i łubenskiej formowały się gleby kopalne. Osady subakwalne (pierwsza połowa środkowego plejstocenu) tworzą aluwialne terasy V i VI, a także osady basenów morskich Czauda i Postczauda. W celu rekonstrukcji warunków paleogeografi cznych zostały wykorzystane własne wyniki badań palinologicznych, malakologicznych, mikroteriologicznych osadów kontynentalnych i morskich, dane z analizy paleopedologicznej z lat ostatnich oraz materiały publikowane (por. bibliografi a). Uzyskane dane potwierdziły cykliczny charakter ewolucji krajobrazów i zmian klimatu na Ukrainie podczas glacjałów i interglacjałów w okresie między 800 a 430 tysięcy lat temu. Zasięgi stref roślinnych, wyróżnianych na terenie Ukrainy w tych jednostkach stratygrafi cznych, przedstawiają ryc. 3–7.

In recent years in the area of prosthetic treatment, great emphasise was put on leaving a residual dentition inside mouth. In a teeth after endodontic treatment or with broken crown a healthy root is a natural implant that can be used for further reconstruction. Use of posts-and-cores is one of possible methods of widely damaged tooth crowns treatment. There is a lot of different types of prefabricated posts-and-cores. Numerical analysis of the prefabricated post-and-core – tooth system was conducted by the authors. The prefabricated Flexi-Flange post-and-core from the Essential Dental System was selected for the analysis. The scope of the analysis has covered calculation of displacements, strains and stresses in each elements of the analysed system – depending on the applied post material and load applied on the prosthetic crown. The analysis reviled that there is a significant influence of the type of the post material and load on results. It was found that the most unfavourable variant of load is the one with force applied on the labial surface at the angle of 45° to the axis of the tooth. The results of the analysed system provided a valuable guidelines for proper design of its form, geometrical properties, selection of the mechanical properties and the optimal strengthening degree of metallic biomaterial.

Opis:
A single burial mound is located on the right bank of the Serteyka River (north-western Russia). It was discovered by E.A. Schmidt in 1951 and is attributed to the Old Russian Period. New researches on the burial mound conducted in 2013 and 2014 have uncovered several diachronic constructions. The first stage was connected to a flint knapping site, which was located on a natural ele- vation. It can be attributed to the 6th millennium BC on the basis of the Early Neolithic pottery fragments found nearby. The next period is dated to the second half of the 3rd millennium BC, when a ritual platform was created. Moreover, on another mound, a ditch was created, which can be attributed to the Long Barrow Culture due to a ceramic fragment found there. Samples from burnt bones and charcoal indicate that the first and second stages of this construction could be dated to between the middle and the second half of the 3rd millennium BC – the late stage of the Zhizhitskaya Culture of pile-dwellers and the initial stage of the Uzmenskaya Culture. Animal bones were cremated along with bronze items, as evidenced by the patina visible on the surface of the bones. Such a rite has been recorded for the first time. Furthermore, a ritual fire-place was set on a flat platform, and additional fireplaces were situated on the slope of the burial mound. This complex, which can be interpreted as a site of worship from the Late Neolithic through the Early Bronze Age, existed for a long period of time. Nowadays, it is difficult to find analogies to such ritual complexes from the 3rd millennium BC from the territory of Poland and the Upper Dnepr region; only the kurgans and burial mounds of the Corded Ware Culture dating to the 3rd millennium BC are known. It might also be supposed that some of the sites with such a sepulchral rite, usually attributed to the Long Barrows Culture, could also be ritual sites – this, however, would require further research.
