Opis:
Purpose: The aim of this study was to validate the Trust in Physician Scale (TPS) for Polish patients. Materials and Methods: The validation of a Polish-language version of Anderson and Dedrick’s TPS was performed with a group of 849 patients. Validation consisted of the translation and evaluation of the psychometric properties of the Polish TPS and its application among Polish-speaking patients. We also explored the TPS with the patient’s sex, age, education, income, marital status, and number of physician visits. Results: The internal consistency of the Polish TPS was high (Cronbach’s alpha = .891). In our study, the TPS is positively associated with age, education, income, marital status, and number of physician visits. Also, we have found that the TPS is negatively associated with sex and place of residence. Conclusions: The Polish-language scale fulfills all the criteria of psychometric and functional validation with the original version of the Trust in Physician Scale.

Opis:
The increasingly appreciated role of physical activity in societies concerned about their health requires proper assessment. The main tools for measuring the level of physical activity comprise some relevant questionnaires, among which the best known in the foreign literature is Global Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPAQ). However, this questionnaire is not yet available in the Polish language version. The following article presents one such attempt that has taken into account the Polish conditions and lifestyle following the guidelines of the GPAQ Guide, which meets the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO). The source text was translated into Polish and then a reverse translation was made involving four steps.
Powszechnie doceniana rola aktywności fizycznej społeczeństw w trosce o ich zdrowie wymaga odpowiedniej oceny. Głównymi narzędziami do pomiaru poziomu aktywności fizycznej są nadal odpowiednie kwestionariusze. Swoje miejsce w literaturze zagranicznej posiada Globalny Kwestionariusz Aktywności Fizycznej (GPAQ). Kwestionariusz ten nie jest dotychczas dostępny w wersji polskojęzycznej. Takiego opracowania dokonano w niniejszym artykule, zgodnie z zaleceniami Światowej Organizacji Zdrowia (WHO), uwzględniając dostosowanie do warunków polskich i stylu życia, zgodnie z wytycznymi Przewodnika GPAQ. Tekst źródłowy przetłumaczono na język polski, a następnie dokonano tłumaczenia zwrotnego z uwzględnieniem czterech kroków postępowania.

Opis:
The article presents the theoretical background and the psychometric properties of the Polish version of the Religious Commitment Inventory-10 (RCI-10-PL). Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was conducted on two samples: 273 participants (Sample A) and 308 participants (Sample B). The results of the CFA showed an acceptable fit of empirical data to the one-factor and two-factor theoretical models, the latter model having a slightly better fit. Moreover, we obtained satisfactory values of the reliability coefficient. Cronbach alpha coefficients for the Polish version of the RCI scales ranged from .82 to .95. Test-retest reliability correlations ranged from .90 to .91 for a five- -week interval between ratings. We also found positive correlations between specific dimensions of RCI-10-PL and religious attitudes, ethical sensibility, and focus on the achievement of harmony in life, which confirms the external validity of the instrument. The results of the analysis conducted on Polish samples are similar to the results obtained from American samples.

patient after maxillofacial trauma Polish version of the Iowa atisfaction with Anesthesia Scale
Opis:
Purpose. The article presents an assessment concerning patient satisfaction with anesthesia as based on the Polish version of the Iowa Satisfaction with Anesthesia Scale. Material and Methods. The study group consisted of 198 patients with maxillofacial injury admitted to the Clinical Ward of Maxillofacial Surgery. The quality of the anesthesiological care was evaluated with the Polish version of Iowa Satisfaction with Anesthesia Scale. Results. It was stated that the level of satisfaction with the anesthesia in patients operated on due to maxillofacial injury used was average. According to the Polish version of the Iowa Satisfaction with Anesthesia Scale, the average score in the studied population was 0.8 on a scale from -3 to +3, SD 2.41. There were differences observed depending on patient age (18-30 years old (p = 0.0001)) and clinical condition. Conclusion. The level of satisfaction with anesthesia in patients with craniofacial trauma is moderately positive, however, in patients with an injury of the upper face and in patients with ASA scale I and II, the same level of satisfaction is higher. Among the analyzed socio-demographical factors only the age determines the level of satisfaction with anesthesia. The level of satisfaction is higher in older patients.

Polish version of Colquitt's Organizational Justice Measure
Opis:
Objectives Organizational justice is an important predictor of employees’ well-being and job performance. Colquitt’s Organizational Justice Measure (OJM) was designed to assess four aspects of justice – distributive, procedural, interpersonal and informational. The lack of a Polish version of the tool, however, has precluded its application in Poland. The objective of this study was to test the psychometric properties of the OJM in a Polish sample. Material and methods The validating study was conducted on 2 participant samples (N = 209 and N = 659), employed in public and private companies. Both the exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses (EFA, CFA) as well as the estimation of internal consistency with Cronbach’s α method were conducted. Predictive validity was assessed by correlating organizational justice with job-related factors and outcomes, including job resources and counterproductive work behavior. Results The EFA and CFA supported a 4-dimension model of the OJM Polish version. This model indicated a better fit to data than the alternatively tested 1-factor, 2-factor and 3-factor models. The internal consistency of the scales was satisfactory, ranging 0.81–0.93 for various subscales. As expected, the overall organizational justice and the four subscales correlated positively with job resources and negatively with counterproductive work behavior. Conclusions The Polish version of OJM has satisfactory psychometric properties and may be useful in assessing organizational justice in a Polish setting.
