    Opis:
    While analyzing the teaching and attitudes of Pope Francis, we decided to devote this article to the issue of inclusion. Considering the sphere of our interests – education, broadly understood – we focused on the inclusion of students coming from abroad, in the education system in Poland. In our publication, we rely on legal regulations, the results of research and control carried out by the Supreme Audit Office in the field of education of children of foreigners and Polish citizens returning to the country, studies by  researchers of the above-mentioned issues, and we discuss a case study. The conclusions are clear: there are more and more students coming from abroad into Polish schools; despite declarations, schools are not fully prepared for their admission when all responsibility for the organization of education rests with school principals and teachers. The role of pedagogical supervision in this respect is insufficient. It is worth paying special attention to practical guidelines for teachers in order to effectively implement the pedagogy of inclusion.

    Political parties are the key element of the representative formula of democratic system. The aim of the paper is to show parties’ attitudes towards the citizen legislative initiative, being an institution of direct democracy. The analysis was carried out with the inclusion of the following three levels of party activity: conceptional, programme-related and functional. Both on the conceptional and programme-related levels there is a lack of reflexion and – in consequence – hardly any debate held on the essence of the institution of citizen legislative initiative, its significance and consequences with regard to the socio-political system. This results in an almost mechanical acceptance of concrete legal solutions, which – at the next stage, i.e., that of realization of these records – ends in an escape from the problem (here: prolonging works of Parliament or an instrumental making use of citizens’ activity).Both ruling parties and those in the Opposition – despite obvious differences in the approach towards institutions of direct democracy – are joined by an axiologically justified dislike of strengthening these forms of citizens’ engagement, which diminish the area of representative democracy.

    Opis:
    Celem badań była rekonstrukcja medialnego obrazu kobiety jako obywatelki w polskiej prasie dla kobiet w latach 1989–1992. Przedmiotem badań były czasopisma, które osiągały we wskazanym okresie największy nakład (powyżej 500 tys. egzemplarzy). Wśród nich znalazły się: tygodnik „Przyjaciółka”, tygodnik „Kobieta i Życie”. Badanie objęło 208 numerów każdego ze wskazanych tygodników (prze-badano wszystkie numery, które ukazały się w okre-ślonej cezurze badawczej). W badaniach posłużono się analizą treści oraz zawartości, aczkolwiek podjęto również próbę analizy ukrytego znaczenia zamieszcza-nych w prasie dla kobiet komunikatów. W tym celu zbadano toposy dominujące w analizowanych tekstach, które ukazywały stosunek kobiet do zmian ustrojowych i ich roli w państwie, a także prezentowały bariery realizacji zadań kobiet w przestrzeni publicznej.
    This article presents the results of a study aimed at reconstructing the image of the woman citizen promoted in the women’s magazines in 1989–1992, the first phase of the great transformation following the collapse of Poland’s socialist system. Within the scope of the study were high-circulation magazines (over 500,000 copies), including the two leading weeklies “Przyjaciółka” and “Kobieta i Życie”. A total of 208 issues of every magazine published in that time span were analyzed. The methods used included content and textual analysis, complemented by the examination of some recurrent topoi treated as indicators of some inexplicit (hidden) meanings, i.e. the attitudes of women to the process of reform, their role in the agenda for change, and the barriers they came up against in the public sphere.
