Opis:
The vector approach in either stationary or synchronous plane is commonly used for the analysis of the AC drives like induction and PM brushless AC drives whilst it has been hardly ever used for the PM brushless DC (BLDC) drives. A possible reason is that they require injection of square-wave currents into the motor phases, which are non-sinusoidal in nature. Recently, the PM BLDC drives have been analyzed by the help of the vector approach in the stationary plane. This paper applies such an approach to an in-depth analysis of the operation of the PM BLDC drives during the current commutations, illustrating the potentialities of the approach in giving a better insight into the current transients and the ensuing torque characteristics. At last, two voltage control strategies proposed to eliminate the torque ripple due to the current commutations are considered, showing that they can be readily understood by the vector approach.

Opis:
In order to develop a PM BLDC motor control system, which will be tolerant of selected faults, simulation work was first performed and then verified on a universal test stand. The results were published in earlier works. The next stage of works was the implementation of previously developed algorithms on the target research test stand – in this case, the prototype vehicle. This last stage of the laboratory work has been presented in this article, i.e. it has been presented the results of experimental research related to the reproduction of rotor angle position, used after the detection of a rotor position sensor fault. A new test stand with the laboratory prototype of a vehicle with two PM BLDC motors is presented. A zeroth-order algorithm (ZOA) was used as a fault compensation method. The effectiveness and usefulness of the previously proposed methods have been confirmed.

Opis:
The development of electric vehicles (EV) necessitates the search for new solutions for configuring powertrain systems to increase reliability and efficiency. The modularity of power supplies, converters, and electrical machines is one such solution. Among modular electric machines, dual three-phase (DTP) motors are the most common in high-power drives. To simplify low and medium power drives for EVs based on DTP PM motor, it is proposed to use a BLDC drive and machine of the simplest design - with concentrated windings and surface mounted PMs on the rotor. To study and create such drives, an improved mathematical model of DTP PM machine was developed in this work. It is based on the results of 2D FEM modeling of the magnetic field. According to the developed method, the dependences of the self and mutual inductances between all phase windings from the angle of rotor position and loads of different motor modulus were determined. Based on these inductances, the circuit computer model of DTP PM machine was created in the Matlab/Simulink. It has a high simulation speed and a high level of adequacy, which is confirmed by experimental studies with a mock-up sample of the electric drive system.
