Opis:
An Active Queue Management (AQM) robust control strategy for Traffic Control Protocol (TCP) data transfer is proposed. To this purpose, the TCP behaviour is first approximated by a second–order model with delayed input obtained from the linearization of an efficient and commonly used nonlinear fluid–based model. The adopted feedback control structure uses a fractional– order PI controller. To ensure the desired robustness, the parameter regions where such a controller guarantees a given modulus margin (inverse of the H1 norm of the sensitivity function) are derived. An example commonly used in the literature is worked out to show that the suggested graphically–based design technique is simple to apply while it limits the effects of disturbances and of the unmodelled dynamics.

Opis:
The control of a planar elbow manipulator driven by a squirrel-cage induction motor using sliding mode control (SMC) is presented in this paper. The modeling of the manipulator mechanical coupling as a load applied to the induction motor shaft is developed. This has direct influence on both dq currents, which are chosen as the sliding manifold instead of controlling both mechanical and electrical parts as individual processes like most industrial manipulators do. Conventional proportional-integral (PI) controllers are used for each loop, implying easy design procedure and implementation with low computational effort. The system can then be implemented by using a digital signal processor (DSP) and applied in industrial environments. Simulation and experimental results on a real manipulator are shown to validate the proposed control scheme. The results show that there is low steady-state error for the manipulator position.

Opis:
In renewable systems, there may be conditions that can be either network error or power transmission line and environmental conditions such as when the wind speed is unbalanced and the wind turbine is connected to the grid. In this case, the control system is not damaged and will remain stable in the power transmission system. Voltage stability studies on an independent wind turbine at fault time and after fixing the error is one of the topics that can strengthen the future of independent collections. At the time of the fault, the network current increases dramatically, resulting in a higher voltage drop. Hence the talk of fast voltage recovery during error and after fixing the error and protection of rotor and grid side converters against the fault current and also protection against rising DC voltage (which sharply increases during error) is highly regarded. So, several improvements have been made to the construction of a doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) turbine such as: a) error detection system, b) DC link protection, c) crow bar circuit, d) block of the rotor and stator side converters, e) injecting reactive power during error, f) nonlinear control design for turbine blades, g) tuning and harmonization of controllers used to keep up the power quality and to stabilize the system output voltage in the power grid. First, the dynamic models of a wind turbine, gearbox, and DFIG are presented. Then the controllers are modeled. The results of the simulation have been validated in MATLAB/Simulink.

Opis:
Tuning rules for position and velocity controllers in P-PI and PI-PI electrical servomechanisms are developed using the root locus design method. P-PI controller is equivalent to PID controller with a set-point filter. PI-PI servo provides zero steady-state error for linear disturbances, which may be important for some tracking tasks. Three design data are needed to calculate the tunings, i.e. drive gain, settling time and control cycle. The development begins with continuous controllers for better understanding. Closed-loop transfer functions involve real multiple poles, so the responses are smooth, without overshoot. Upper limits on control cycles as fractions of settling times are given. Some experimental results are presented.
