    Opis:
    This paper is a preliminary review of main shock deformations in the Morasko meteorite. Three main types of metamorphism structures occur in the investigated material: (i) brittle, (ii) plastic and (iii) thermal. Their interpretation may indicate, that Morasko meteorite reveals several stages of shock, eg.: extraterrestrial collisions and fall on the Earth.

    In result of searching in the Morasko preserve for the documentary series Meteorite Men two irons were found below ground. A 544-g shrapnel-like with weak shock deformations, mildly weathered, at low depth, and 34-kg individual, with its upper surface 156 cm deep, with a thick shell of clay and weathering minerals. Of particular interest is presence of chukanovite, a mineral discovered in the Dronino iron meteorite. Morasko is the second meteorite, where chukanovite could be found. The recovery of a new specimen so much deeper than the previous depth record, suggests that further, more detailed surveys should be conducted in the future with improved metal detecting equipment. Moreover, the larger specimen was found embedded in a Miocene clay, which demonstrates that it fell from the sky at that exact spot and was not deposited in glacial terminal moraine.

    Opis:
    The state of the dislocation substructure of meteorite in which the history of phenomena accompanying the meteorite during its passage through the Earth’s atmosphere is recorded remains unused. The main goal of the presented work is a comprehensive analysis of the dislocation structure of the iron meteorite from the Morasko reserve (Poland, Wielkopolska Voivodeship) by TEM methods to determine the conditions and mechanism of its formation. The work is cognitive in the field of phenomena related to the destruction and deformation of the material in extreme conditions: space and terrestrial space. It can also be useful in the research on the creation of the material with specific mechanical properties, as well as a unique reference material for earth experiments with low-temperature deformation, high-speed deformation, recrystallization processes with short thermal pulses and structure relaxation in conditions of very long time periods.
