    Opis:
    This study identifies respondent characteristics influencing the opinion of Polish residents regarding the euro. Using data collected from 200 residents of Łuków and Biała Podlaska districts in Lubelskie Province, a decision model was specified where the choice of opinion about the euro was determined by demographic and socio-economic characteristics, household size, and location. Results show that the largest change in probability of choosing the opinion that the euro would strengthen in the future resulted from an increase in income and number of children in a household, but the probability would decrease, although by a small amount, if a respondent resided in a rural area or was fully employed.
    Celem badań była identyfikacja cech respondentów, które wpływają na wybór opinii, że pozycja euro będzie ulegała wzmocnieniu w przeciwieństwie do rozpadu strefy. Wykorzystując zebrane dane ankietowe spośród 200 mieszkańców powiatu łukowskiego i bialsko-podlaskiego w województwie lubelskim, skonstruowano model decyzji wyboru jednej z ww. opcji dotyczących euro w odpowiedzi na zmiany w cechach demograficznych i socjo-ekonomicznych badanych osób i ich rodzin. Wyniki wskazują, że głównymi czynnikami podnoszących prawdopodobieństwo wyboru opinii o wzmacnianiu się pozycji euro były zmiany dochodów rodziny, a następnie liczby dzieci i obecność dzieci w rodzinie. Mniejsze prawdopodobieństwo wyboru takiej opinii dotyczyło respondentów z terenów wiejskich oraz zatrudnionych na pełny etat.

    The issue of the administrative system in the General Government has not yet been sufficiently studied and developed. This article is of a scientific and research nature. The author presents the structure, competences and staff of the Department of Civil Engineering, one of the main departments of administration of the city of Lublin, the capital city of the Lublin district in the years 1939–1944. The aim of the research was also to show that the entire administrative apparatus in Lublin functioned under the full supervision of the German authorities and was obliged to follow the instructions of the occupier. The issue of territorial and local administration in the area of the General Government definitely requires further research. There are works referring to individual county and municipal administration bodies, but there is a noticeable lack of synthesis taking into account all structural and organizational aspects of administration and containing an assessment of its functioning. The main source of information are archival materials available at the State Archives in Lublin (Files of the City of Lublin 1939–1944). In addition to the characteristics of the Department of Civil Engineering, the article also describes the basics of the administrative system in the General Government and the Lublin district.
    Zagadnienie ustroju administracyjnego na terenie Generalnego Gubernatorstwa nie zostało dotychczas dostatecznie zbadane i opracowane. Niniejszy artykuł ma charakter naukowo-badawczy. Przedstawiono tu strukturę, kompetencje i obsadę kadrową Wydziału Budownictwa – jednego z głównych wydziałów administracji miasta Lublin, pełniącego rolę stolicy dystryktu lubelskiego w latach 1939–1944. Celem badań było również ukazanie, że cały aparat administracyjny w Lublinie funkcjonował pod pełnym nadzorem władz niemieckich i był zobligowany do wykonywania poleceń okupanta. Problematyka administracji terenowej i lokalnej na obszarze Generalnego Gubernatorstwa zdecydowanie wymaga prowadzenia kolejnych badań. Pojawiają się prace odnoszące się do poszczególnych organów administracji powiatowej i gminnej, jednakże odczuwalny jest brak syntezy uwzględniającej wszelkie aspekty strukturalne i organizacyjne administracji oraz zawierającej ocenę jej funkcjonowania. Głównym źródłem informacji są materiały archiwalne dostępne w Archiwum Państwowym w Lublinie (Akta Miasta Lublina 1939–1944). W artykule, obok charakterystyki Wydziału Budownictwa, opisano także podstawy ustroju administracyjnego w Generalnym Gubernatorstwie oraz w dystrykcie lubelskim.

    The aim of the article is to examine the most important forms of social activity of the petty and middle nobility of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the second half of the 16th century on the example of the unique life stories of two Vitebsk noblemen. The article discusses biographies of Piotr Kisiel and Tymofiej Hurka, who represented the Vitebsk district at the Sejm in 1569 and directly participated in the conclusion of the Union of Lublin. For a long time, the historiography discussed only the most influential participants of the sessions of this Sejm. However, ‘ordinary’ representatives of the wide group of nobles from the districts of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania also played their part in negotiations regarding the conclusion of the union. The aims, ideas, worldview, and values along with the personal experiences of those people directly affected their social and political position, and thus, to some extent, shaped the entire state. The author shows the influence of military and political events of the 1560s on the political activities of Piotr Kisiel and Tymofiej Hurka. The experience gained from the Livonian War influenced their attitude towards the union between the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Polish Crown in 1569. The investigations presented by the author show that significant transformations of the 1560s (reforms of the political system of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the creation of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth) gave the Kisiel and Hurka families the opportunity to actively participate in public life and allowed them to occupy a permanent place among the political elites of the Vitebsk district. The research results are based on various types of documentary sources, both published ones and manuscripts. The methodological basis of the analysis is the biographical method. The article emphasizes that detailed investigations of the biographies of ‘ordinary’ nobles opened new research perspectives in regard to the history of the noblemen of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the entire Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
