Opis:
The automotive industry is one of the most important sectors of the global economy. It has long been setting new standards not only in quality management (QS 9000/VDA or ISO/TS 16949). It is also an inspiration for seeking efficient production methods, such as lean production, agile production and tools that support such production in the global automotive supply chain. Since October 2016, a new quality management standard in the form of the IATF 16949:2016 system has been in place in the automotive industry. The standard amends the existing ISO/TS 16949:2009 based on the revised ISO 9001:2015 and customer-specific requirements (CSR).

Opis:
The lack of an implementation roadmap always deters enterprises from choosing Total Quality Management (TQM) as its major management approach. This paper proposes a stepwise ISO-based TQM implementation approach which is based on the notion of the new threedimensional overall business excellence framework developed by Dahlgaard et al. [1]. The proposed approach consists of nine steps comprising three categories: “TQM faith building”, “TQM tools and techniques learning”, and “system development”. The steps in each of the three categories are arranged to span across the proposed nine-step approach. The ISO 9001:2015 standard is used as a case study to demonstrate the proposed approach. The ideas and benefits of the proposed approach are further discussed in relation to this illustration.

Opis:
Diabetes, adjudged a risk factor for coronavirus infectious disease 2019 (COVID-19), can be managed through consumption of plantain and its associated products. Plantain is usually processed into flour and other storable/value-added products due to its very short shelf-life. To process unripe plantain pulps into flour, there is a need for size reduction after drying. This paper presents the development and performance evaluation of a size reduction unit for pulverizing, sieving and conveying material to the next processing stage in a plantain flour process plant. Its model was developed using solidworks application software. After design analysis, the model was simulated to establish its suitability/adequacy for fabrication. The pulverizer was fabricated using locally available materials. Its performance evaluation gave 400kg/h throughput, 96% crushing efficiency and 96% efficiency based on the required particle size. The average particle size of flour obtained was 236μm using 500μm screen. Effect of cyclone control-valve on the pulverizer’s overall efficiency was also investigated by allowing it to operate when the valve was completely closed, partially closed and fully opened. It was observed that the control-valve’s positions significantly influenced the machine’s performance/efficiency. It can thus be inferred that the position of cyclone control-valve has significant effect on a pulverizer’s efficiency/performance. Hence, leaving control-valve fully opened during operation would help a pulverizer perform with optimum efficiency, as the pulverizer was able to convey material, efficiently in that position, to the next processing stage during performance evaluation.

Top management demonstrates leadership and the ability to commit to customer focus within particular organization.

Opis:
Inferior automotive component quality might be caused by diverse sources in the supply chain network. To compete in a highly dynamic environment, a supply chain quality management integrating quality issues of the internal and external supply chain is needed. In this paper, a supply chain quality management model for automotive components was developed on the basis of further development of ISO 9001:2015. This way, the quality within the value chain can be managed. To evolve the model, the novel concept of supply chain quality management and its dimensions were reviewed in the literature. Drawing upon the results, intersections concerning common processes of both approaches, quality management and supply chain management, were identified using ISO 9001:2015 and the SCOR model. Based on the findings, a supply chain quality management model for automotive components was developed and will be introduced. The results reflect implications for the management of supply chain quality to be implemented by companies.

The aim of the paper is to analyze the question connected with the context of the organization in the organization implemented ISO 9001:2015 system. In the paper we described the elements of the context of the organization and their influence on the activity of the firm, the needs and expectations of the interested parties and methods for monitoring the needs of the interested parties. The external and internal issues relevant to an organization are determined during management reviews. Top management assigns monitoring issues to appropriate process owners for monitoring. The process owner should monitor the issues and prepare appropriate reports indicating the methods and results of the whole monitoring process. If feasible, appropriate metrics are also advised for presenting the results.

The study deals with strategic management of organisations in conformity with quality management system requirements. The aim of the paper is to point out factors with impact on strategic performance of organisations, taking into account strategic concepts of its management. The implementation of a quality management system is a strategic decision that can improve the organization's overall performance. Results of the questionnaire survey focused on identification of industrial enterprises readiness to implement the ISO 9001:2015 are presented in the paper. Survey was also focused on strategic management of the organisations. The survey results recovered implemented strategic tools for performance management in industrial enterprises in the Slovak Republic. There is also described further continued research focussed on correlation between the factors impacting performance of organizations and strategic management tool s in conformity with quality management system.

The aim of the paper is analysis of dissemination of management systems in Poland, and to discover if there any difference between management systems dissemination and size of enterprise. On the basis of conducted research, the most widespread management system in the surveyed organizations, besides ISO 9001, was ISO 14001. Moreover, many organizations use IATF 16949, PN 18001, AQUAP, ISO 22000, EMAS, ISO 27001 management systems.

Purpose: The aim of the paper is to analyse the problems connected with the design of operation processes realised within an organisation in the ISO 9001:2015 implementation process. Design/methodology/approach: Critical literature analysis. Analysis of international literature from main databases and Polish literature and legal acts connecting with the researched topic. Findings: Design and development planning refers to identifying the stages and controls for the stages to design and develop products. Stages that are appropriate for product development are decided by a design team. An organisation is required to plan and develop its design and development activities as a process. The goal of this process is to ensure that the realisation of the product or service will be according to their specification. The design and development processes, operations, activities and controls shall be planned in accordance to several requirements. The organisation should implement the planned arrangements at appropriate stages to verify that the product and service requirements have been met. The release of products and services to the customer shall not proceed until the planned arrangements have been satisfactory completed, unless otherwise approved by a relevant authority and as applicable by the customer. Originality/value: Detailed analysis of all subjects related to the organisation of design in ISO 9001:2015.

The whole organisation should take appropriate actions based on the nature of the nonconformity and its effect on the conformity of products and services. Originality/value: Detailed analysis of all subjects related to organisation of operations under the ISO 9001:2015 standard.

Purpose: The objective of the study is to present the results of a study on disruptions occurring in organizations, certified for compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015, as well as the results of analysis on the results obtained. Design/methodology/approach: The study was carried out on a group of 69 organizations certified by a large international certification body. The original method of analyzing disruptions in systems, based on non-compliance identified during third-party audits, was used in the study. Findings: The results of the study have been presented. A summary of the number of non-compliances identified in relation to the sections and subsections of the ISO 9001:2015 standard has been prepared. A summary of the number of non-compliances identified in small, medium-sized and large organizations in relation to subsections of the standard has also been drawn up. Practical implications: It has been pointed out that the evaluation of disruptions in the system should consist in analysis of their causes and taking actions that will protect the organization from further occurrences. Such knowledge should help organizations better maintain and improve quality management systems. Originality/value: Specific sections and subsections of the standard, in which problems have been identified, were indicated. An attempt was made to determine the impact of the size and type of the organization's activities on the type of disruptions. Yet again, it was confirmed that examination of problems with the original method, based on the results of third-party audits, provides objective information on non-compliance in organizations.
