Opis:
Several conjunctive use approaches can be distinguished. Drought cycling of groundwater (GW) usage and storage relies on more surface water (SW) during wetter years and delivers more water from GW during drought years. This method has the benefit of temporal changes in water availability. Additionally, it is usually desirable in areas with internal variability of SW where surface storage of wet-year surpluses is uneconomical, suffer excessive evaporative losses, or cause unacceptable environmental disruption. In previous studies, the purpose of operating the drought cycling was to reduce operating costs. In these studies, the objective function of the proposed model was to minimise the present value cost derived from the system design and operation to satisfy a predefined demand during a finite planning and operation horizon. However, it is important to consider other objectives in operating water resources systems, including minimising water shortages accurately. Hence, in this study, two scenarios were focused on: 1) mi-nimising water shortagages, 2) minimising operational costs. Pareto solutions are then presented with the objectives of minimising costs and water deficit. In this study, the weighting method has been used to extract Pareto options. The results show that reducing costs from 234 to 100 mln USD will increase water shortage from 9.3 to 11.3 mln m3.

Opis:
This article presents a research project carried out by academic researchers and practicing teachers who made an attempt to reconstruct the complexity of school reality and understand the cultural activity of the teams of teachers and students. We gained entirely different pictures of schools, filled with a unique language and symbols, specific organizational culture, exceptional sensitivity, methods of expressing understanding or disapproval of particular ways of perceiving in the school reality. A particular asset of our method of cultural studies is sensitivity to varieties of local determinants, focusing attention on conjunctive action patterns and cooperation with social actors.

Opis:
Fuzzy inference using the conjunctive approach is very popular in many practical applications. It is intuitive for engineers, simple to understand, and characterized by the lowest computational complexity. However, it leads to incorrect results in the cases when the relationship between a fact and a premise is undefined. This article analyses the problem thoroughly and provides several possible solutions. The drawbacks of uncertainty in the conjunctive approach are presented using fuzzy inference based on a fuzzy truth value, first introduced by Baldwin (1979c). The theory of inference is completed with a new truth function named 0-undefined for two-valued logic, which is further generalized into fuzzy logic as α-undefined. Eventually, the proposed modifications allow altering existing implementations of conjunctive fuzzy systems to interpret the undefined state, giving adequate results.

Opis:
This paper aims at systemising the observations on the constructions used for expressing Future tense in the three known Old Slavonic translations of Vita Antonii Magni by Athansius Alexandrinus. The text was first translated in the early Old Church Slavonic period, while two other (Middle Bulgarian) translations were written in ca. 14th century. This makes the text suitable for observing the different strategies for expressing Future tense, both regarding the translation technique and its dynamics on a synchronic level, i.e., vis-à-vis other translations from the period, and from a diachronic perspective, i.e., paying closer attention to the discrepancies between the three translations themselves. The paper focuses on the Future periphrastic constructions used in the three Slavonic translations of the Life of St Anthony the Great by Athanasius of Alexandria. The approach is based on the relation with the Greek Vorlage, thus analysing closely the situation attested in the Greek original. Observations are made regarding the usage of the periphrases in the Slavonic texts adducing comparative material for similar phenomena from other early (Preslavian) and Middle Bulgarian texts. Some examples provided, as well as those from other texts, might suggest that the Old Church Slavonic periphrases were used not only to express Future tense per se, but for every non-Indicative (or non-factual) Present.
