Opis:
The City of Kaliningrad is an example of a “market area,” thanks to which we discover the methods of cross-border trades that developed before and after the implementation of a local border traffic agreement between Poland and Russia. It applies not only to the Central Market in Kaliningrad but also to the whole urban space that serves in everyday life as a large marketplace away from the officially designated market areas. The article deals with the urban space of Kaliningrad and its most important markets: The Central Market, The Flea Market, the market for agricultural and other forms of trade that can be observed in public space. We can put an equals sign between Kaliningrad and bazaar, City of Kaliningrad and its space is a grand bazaar.

Opis:
The main aim of this paper is to discuss the notion of language viewed as a tool of communication of purchasers and vendors in a Polish bazaar. On the basis of scholarly literature and the material gathered in the conducted study the authors of this article emphasize an important role which language plays in the discourse of these two groups of people and identify a set of functions which language performs in exchanging information between them. It demonstrates how socio-economic reality is related to and reflected by means of language and how language as a tool helps members of the bazaar community (both sellers and buyers) to communicate messages and build relationships with each other. In order to exemplify how language is used in this particular social context, they provide evidence in the form of citations and eventually draw conclusions with regard to the subject in question.

Opis:
The article briefly presents the empirical results of a large research project focused on Polish urban marketplaces, commonly known as bazaars, and their interactional order. Due to the spatial separation and legal regulations concerning bazaar trade, a relatively constant community of market vendors is created in the area of the particular marketplace. The primary activity of each merchant is to offer and sell goods; however, the specificity of marketplace trade results in the necessity to maintain relationships with other vendors to keep this primary activity going. Thus, the activities of merchants are carried out in the same direction for both economic results and performance (sales and profit) and social action, that is, building and managing relations with vendors operating in the same marketplace. A wide range of activities and interaction strategies is developed that create an order of interactions between vendors, both in terms of perceiving and assigning meanings, interpreting, and taking actions. The consequences of such an interactional foundation affect the economic layer of the market, embedding, on the one hand, economic phenomena in social phenomena, and, on the other hand, generating paradoxes of prices and competition—the two economic concepts that cannot be analyzed without their social contexts.

Opis:
Key position of the Vistula in the ecological system of Poland potentially makes it possible to form an “ecological corridor” of this country, connected with the natural macro-system of Europe. The possible use of the Middle Vistula and its meridional connection with Kaliningrad region as well as Belarus and Ukraine territories concerns the rivers : Warthe, Notec Vistula, Narew and Bug Realization of functional connections between neighbouring territories will stimulate development of their economy and culture and make it possible to demonstrate their natural merits. Ecological and economical aspects of transport based on inland waterways make it necessary to formulate criteria for architectural objects to be created on waterfront areas (with taking into consideration of social, historical and location contexts, local conditions and architectural traditions).
