The article presents vibration test of three different types of gyroplane main rotors. The test was carried out on a specially prepared test bench using a Red Led Tacho Sensor measuring system. Tests were conducted for the project „Research and development works on innovative construction of aircrafts of weight over 560 kilograms at the company Trendak Aviation”. The work outlines the basic properties of the gyroplane vibration and gives their sources. The research focused on the gyroplane main rotor vibration related inter alia to the rotor imbalance as well as rotor hub connector construction. Tested rotors consisted of three different types of gyroplane rotor blades and innovative universal hub connector with positive coning angle of 2.8º. The article summarized the basic properties of three types of gyroplane the rotor blade, marks advantages of use hub connector witch constructional dihedral angle. Discusses the principle of operation of measuring device, tests methodology starting from instrument calibration. The results of the measurements are shown in the graphs in polar coordinates. The vibration measurement is carried out in two axes, in x-axis, longitudinal, along the rotor radius and in y-axis, perpendicular to the x-axis, in the direction of the chord of the rotor blades.

The article presents advantages and disadvantages of two blade teetering rotors with constructional dihedral angle greater than 0o . Several structural design solutions of rotor hub connector are shown in this work. However, the main attention is focused on innovative hub connector design and manufactured by Trendak Aviation Company during the project “Research and development works on innovative construction of aircrafts of weight over 560 kilograms”. Discusses structural advantages of the new rotor hub connector according to other construction. Also were raised issues related to the load of the gyroplane rotor during the flight, in particular the load of rotor blades root, during a gyroplane break manoeuvre, according to conning angle of rotor hub connector. The disadvantages of using the structural dihedral angle in teetering rotors are also presented, focusing on the rotor aeroelastic instability so-called waving, which from the literature analysed is concerned only with two blades teetering rotors. Performed a coarse analysis in SMOG program, prepared at the Institute of Aviation for the analysis of helicopter and gyroplanes rotors. The stability analysis of the rotor for a number of structural dihedral angle and blades setting pitch was performed. Basis of this analysis the stability boundary were determined for the analysed gyroplane rotor with connector hub with positive coning angle of 2.8o. .

The article presents the course of the composite rotor blades tests. Object of study was designed in Institute of Aviation, new airfoil for gyroplane rotors and technology of manufacturing carbon rotor blades were made. When the test program was developed, we focused for special test to check not only typical rotor blades properties but also composite structures thereby technology of manufacturing. One of the basic rotor blades test is to determine the breaking force, which, taking into account the safety factor, cannot exceed the maximum centrifugal force occurring on the rotor blades during flight. The first step of rotor blades tests was static test, which gave us answer about stiffness in plane of low stiffness and torsional stiffness, it’s very important properties related to vibrations. Another mechanical properties measured during tests were centre of gravity and mass moment of inertia in rotor blade. Next step was dynamic test – tracking and balancing verification. After static and dynamics, which has proper results – good balance and no vibration on the entire range of rotational speed – rotor blades can be use on fly object. After getting proper results of static and dynamic test next step was a specially prepared test, which defined the time needed for delamination to take place. During the delamination tests, the rotor blade was subjected to adequate loads that occur in horizontal flight. That kind of test is basis to determine service life of rotor blades.

This article presents the influence of rotor blade airfoil shape on main rotor performances. In this case, we analysed the influence of anti-erosion tape, which is applied to the leading edge of the blade to protect the blades from environmental conditions. In Gyro-Tech Innovation an Aviation Company and Institute of Aviation the independent tests of helicopter and gyroplane main rotors were performed. Research includes: bench tests, on the test stand for dynamic testing of insulated rotors and tests on two flying constructions, gyroplane Cavalon produced by AutoGyro GmbH Company and ultralight helicopter Dynali H3. On the test bench, a two-blade rotor, used in ultralight and unmanned helicopters, was tested. In article, the authors present importance of the proper selection and application of anti-erosion coatings on rotor blades. Discuss the behaviour of the above-mentioned constructions with main rotor blades leading edge covered anti-erosion tape, during flight tests. The results of bench tests, including the comparison of polar curves of the main rotor with anti-erosion coating and without were also presented and discussed. In the summary of this article among others the solution of technological pocked introduced in the rotor blade, corresponding to the thickness of the anti-erosion tapes, in such way that after tape is applied it does not change the contour of the blade airfoil were presented.

The article presents the potential use of magnesium alloys in the aerospace industry. In this project the static strength analysis of magnesium alloy AZ31 of the control – system lever of the ILX-27 unmanned helicopter was carried out. Control-system levers are located between the swash plate and an actuator. The aim of the tests was to confirm the strength properties of the magnesium alloy control-system lever for their implementation on the ILX-27 unmanned helicopter. Strain gauge sensor was used during the tests. Strain gauges installation on easily corrodes surface requires special method. The laboratory tests were proceeded by the lever static strength calculations in the computing environment ANSYS Inc. Additionally, a geometry measurement of the control-system lever at CMM equipped with a laser scanner head was made to compare with the lever CAD model to assess the quality and method of conformance. Unmanned helicopter ILX-27 is being developed through the introduction new materials and technologies. Tests of control system lever have shown if it is possible to use lighter materials than aluminum alloy to provide sufficient strength properties while reducing the mass of the object. Analysis of the available materials used in aerospace engineering allowed selecting the best of magnesium alloy.

The paper presents test bench method for verifying the fatigue life of the rotor blades, working in operating conditions in a position steady flight (autorotation), on the aviation construction called the gyroplane. One of the critical elements of this design is the main rotor, which in its modern versions takes the form of advanced composite structures subjected to loads in flight complex variable, the nature of which differs from the well-known operating conditions of helicopter rotors. The article includes a description of the test object, which are composite rotor blades designed specifically to work in autorotation, the specificity of loads of autorotation rotor, and method of implementation of the gyroplane rotor work cycles in the test bench. The main aim of this research is to evaluate the sustainability of the composite blades under the gyroplane operating loads with the goal to allow the rotor to operate in the air. The tests were carried out for 100 hours of gyroplane flight at loads do not exceed the maximum operating loads, and for several hours under a load higher than operating. During test for the evaluation of composite structure, the infrared camera with dedicated software IRNDT was used. The reached showed structural integrity in critical mounting section of the blade.

Background. Being acquainted with nutritional recommendations does not necessarily imply that they are fully understood, nor on how they can be applied when correctly planning an adequate diet. Objective. To determine whether children can recognise single portion sizes of various foodstuffs and to test their ability for planning a daily menu in accordance to the guidelines from a Food and Nutrition Pyramid. Material and methods. Subjects under survey were n=100 children aged 10-11 years, attending two elementary schools: in Warsaw and Piaseczno. The school in Warsaw participated in two national education programmes on food and nutrition (ie. ‘Fruit at School’ and ‘A Glass of Milk’) whilst the other did not participate in any such programmes. The study tool was a questionnaire consisting of closed questions together with practical exercises on planning a dietary balanced menu using the Food and Nutrition Pyramid recommendations. Results. Children could easily recognise single portion sizes (73% correct replies), however they found it more difficult to plan a suitable menu, where 60% met the given specifications; ie. numbers of different food type portions, menu diversity, number of meals as well as taking physical activity into account. Girls were significantly better at planning menus. It was also found that, compared to the guidelines, wheat and dairy products, vegetables and fats were under-represented whereas meat and fruit were chosen in excess. Nearly 80% of menus were sufficiently diverse but only 48% were composed of a typical/normal selection of foodstuffs. Conclusions. Despite being provided with guidelines for preparing appropriate menus, most children failed this task. This was likely due to either not fully understanding the instructions or a lack of skills in adopting the Food and Nutrition Pyramid recommendations. Thus it is necessary to give more comprehensive explanations when teaching nutrition during school lessons as well as letting the children practice doing the practical aspects.
Wprowadzenie. Znajomość zaleceń żywieniowych nie zawsze przekłada się na ich zrozumienie i praktyczne zastosowanie do planowania zbilansowanych posiłków. Cel. Celem badań było określenie stopnia znajomości wielkości pojedynczej porcji różnych produktów przez dzieci oraz ocena umiejętności planowania jednodniowego jadłospisu zgodnie z zaleceniami zawartymi w Piramidzie Zdrowego Żywienia. Materiał i metoda. Badaniem objęto 100 dzieci w wieku 10-11 lat uczęszczających do szkół podstawowych: jednej w Warszawie, objętej programami edukacyjnymi „Owoce w szkole” i „Szklanka mleka” oraz drugiej w \Piasecznie, nieobjętej żadnym programem edukacyjnym. Badanie przeprowadzono za pomocą autorskiego kwestionariusza ankiety z wykorzystaniem pytań zamkniętych oraz zadania praktycznego obejmującego zaplanowanie zbilansowanego jadłospisu z wykorzystaniem zaleceń przedstawionych w Piramidzie Zdrowego Żywienia. Wyniki. Rozpoznanie pojedynczej porcji produktów nie stanowiło dla respondentów trudności (73% prawidłowych odpowiedzi), zaplanowanie prawidłowego jadłospisu sprawiało trudności, średnio 60% jadłospisów spełniało wyznaczone kryteria (odpowiednia liczba porcji poszczególnych grup produktów, urozmaicenie, liczba posiłków, uwzględnienie aktywności fizycznej). Badani uzyskiwali mniejszą od zalecanej liczbę porcji produktów zbożowych, warzyw, produktów mlecznych oraz olejów i tłuszczy, zaś powyżej zaleceń - owoców oraz produktów mięsnych. Prawie 80% jadłospisów było urozmaiconych, natomiast komponowane poszczególne posiłki tylko w 48% miały typowe zestawienie produktów. Wnioski. Uczniowie mimo podanych wytycznych jak prawidłowo zaplanować jadłospis w większości nie poradzili sobie z tym zadaniem, co mogło wynikać z niepełnego zrozumienia poleceń lub nieumiejętności zastosowania zaleceń zawartych w Piramidzie Zdrowego Żywienia. Wskazuje to na konieczność wprowadzenia bardziej obszernych wyjaśnień podczas omawiania zagadnień żywieniowych w czasie zajęć szkolnych i wielokrotnego ćwiczenia praktycznego wykorzystywania omawianych zaleceń.

Opis:
Personalised medicine (PM) is the adaptation of medical treatment to an individual patient. More importantly, PM offers the potential to detect disease earlier when it is easier to treat effectively. PM is beginning to overcome the limitations of traditional medicine. In PM there are many potential benefits and facilitators but also many barriers. The goals of the Regions4PerMed project are to set up the first interregional cooperation on PM, align strategies and financial instruments, and most importantly, identify primary barriers in personal medicine adoption in the health care system and systematic actions to remove as many of them as possible to create a future where PM is fully integrated into real life settings. Each key action activity will be followed by a focus group or semi-structured qualitative interview. The questions asked during the research will concern barriers and facilitators of PM implementation in the country of a subject and will concern: medical big data and electronic medical records; health technology in connected and integrated care; the health industry; facilitate the innovation flow in health care; socio-economic aspects. The qualitative study outcomes are supposed to bring more qualitative data to the discussion. They could be implemented to the daily practice of the health care system’s stakeholders through the best practices transferred to all five key strategic areas of the Regions4PerMed project.

The research, which encompassed the period from 1981 to 2009, was conducted on water samples collected from 15 wells, 24–103 m in depth, located within the administrative districts of Olecko and Ostroda. The results of water analyses were varied depending on the location of a well and year of the study. The waters were characterized by a high content of manganese and iron. Ammonia was found in all the samples except from the wells in Cimochy, Niemsty, Szczecinki in 2005 and in Gucin in 2009. Nitrate(III) and nitrate(V) were determined much less frequently than ammonia. None of the three above-mentioned compounds was detected in three wells in the district of Olecko.
Przeprowadzone badania w latach 1981–2009 obejmowały wody pobrane z 15 studni położonych na terenie powiatu oleckiego i ostródzkiego, których głębokość wynosiła 24–103 m. Uzyskane wyniki analiz laboratoryjnych wody były zróżnicowane ze względu na miejsce położenia studni, jak i rok badań. Wody te charakteryzowały się zwiększoną zawartością manganu i żelaza. We wszystkich próbkach, z wyjątkiem studni w Cimochach, Niemstach, Szczecinkach w 2005 r. i w Gucinie w 2009 r., stwierdzono obecność amoniaku. Azotany(III) i (V) występowały w analizowanych wodach znacznie rzadziej niż amoniak. W trzech studniach powiatu oleckiego nie odnotowano obecności żadnego z tych składników.

The paper presents opportunities of cavity enhanced absorption spectroscopy technique application in nitrogen oxides (NO_{x}) detection. In this method the concentration of an absorbing gas is determined by measure of decay time of the light pulse trapped in an optical cavity. The measurements are not sensitive to fluctuation of both laser power and photodetector sensitivity. The cavity enhanced absorption spectroscopy technique is a modification of cavity ring down spectroscopy technique where the off-axis adjustment of the resonator is used. NO_{x} detection is carried out in the visible and infrared range. The signal is registered with a developed low noise photoreceiver. Features of the presented sensor show that it is possible to build a portable trace gases sensor. Its sensitivity could be comparable with chemical detectors. Such a system has several advantages: relatively low price, small size and weight, and detection possibility of other gases.

The paper presents investigations of a free space optical transmitter operating with quantum cascade lasers. The main goal of the research was to determine influence of lasers driver parameters on an optical data link performance. Using some commercial driving devices, the laser pulse limitations of power, repetition rate and time duration have been observed. In the paper, the preliminary results of the designed laser driver are described. The driver was developed at the Institute of Optoelectronics, MUT in cooperation with scientists from the Faculty Electrical Engineering, WUT. It is characterized by high current efficiency, high pulse repetition rate, and compact construction. Additionally, the driver also includes a controller of Peltier modules
