Opis:
The increase of machine utilization in manufacturing companies contributes significantly to improving customer logistics service by ensuring the availability of stocks at the required level. The aim of the article is to present the impact of the improved machine use in the manufacturing plant of the lighting industry on supply chain efficiency. The first part discussed the performance indicators of machine use in the Total Productive Maintenance grasp with suggestions of their improvement. The second part presents the facilitation of the machine use process in the company. It also contains the analysis of the influence of the machine use improvement on shaping the availability of component inventory of the customer.

The article addresses issues related to quality assurance in manufacturing companies based on the guidelines of quality maintenance pillar under the Total Productive Maintenance concept. The first part of the article presents the methodological steps for determining machine quality points. The second part contains a case study on the implementation of methodology in the manufacturing plant in the lighting industry. The article shows a positive influence of the methodology on the reduction of quality defects in the examined plant.

Opis:
Natural user interface (NUI) is a successor of command line interfaces (CLI) and graphical user interfaces (GUI) so well known to computer users. A new natural approach is based on extensive human behaviors tracking, where hand tracking and gesture recognition seem to play the main roles in communication. The presented paper reviews common approaches to discussed hand features tracking and provides a very effective proposal of the contour based hand’s poses recognition method which can be straightforwardly used for a hand-based natural user interface. Its possible usage varies from medical systems interaction, through games up to impaired people communication support.

Opis:
Artificial camera navigation is the most ubiquitous and principal interaction task within a virtual environment. Efficient and intuitive virtual scene navigation affects other tasks completion performance. Though many scientists have elaborated invaluable navigation techniques design guidelines, it is still, especially for novice users, the really challenging and demanding process. The user interface input hardware imprecision, interface operation cognitive burden put on users and deficiency of direct mapping between user physical movement and virtual camera navigation evoke discrepancy between user desired and actual camera position and orientation. The provided paper concentrates on the new potential field based camera navigation support method. Originally designed and exploited potential fields support not only collisions solving, but goal profiled attraction and camera manoeuvring as well. It works both in static and dynamic environments. It can be easily boosted by the GPU approach and eventually can be easily adapted for advanced or novice interface users for a miscellaneous navigation task completion.

Opis:
The historical arsenic and gold-ore operation at the Złoty Stok mine generated around 1 500 000 tonnes of wastes. The gold-bearing post-flotation tailing dumps, waste slag heaps, mined rock and arsenic roasting spoils (cinders) from mining of metamorphogenic, hydro -thermal As-Au deposits have been examined to evaluate their gold grade. The waste material is dominated by calc-silicate skarn, dolomitic marbles, serpentinites and As-Au ore fragments. Sulfides are mainly loellingite, arsenopyrite and pyrrothite with some pyrite, chalcopyrite, sphalerite and galena. In oxidized material, sulfides are rare or absent. Over 1000 samples of post-flotation waste muds and three bulk samples of mined rock spoils were analyzed. Only tailings show high concentrations of Au (0.8–20.1 ppm) and As (1.0–2.6 wt.%). Anaverage contents of other metals (in ppm) are: Cu — 177.5; Pb — 212.2; Zn — 127.5; Ag — 0.38; Pt — 0.006; Pd — 0.001. Analytical results indicate that concentrations of these elements are very low along profiles, with no obvious relation ship between content and depth. Average gold content of 0.3 ppm in waste slags disqualifies this material as a source of gold. The re main ing re sources of gold in the flotation tailings and waste heaps are estimated at as high as 2370 kg. The main pollutant is As with contents exceeding 52 100 ppm in the mined rock spoils.

Opis:
Interspecific compatibility and self-compatibility in Pyrus communis, P. pyraster and P. salicifolia were evaluated. Degree of compatibility was determined by means of fluorescence microscope. Self-incompatibility evaluated on the basis of the pollen tubes growth showed that two cultivars of P. communis (Bera Hardy and Lukasówka) were self-compatible and the other three cultivars were self-incompatible. All ecotypes of P. pyraster are self-incompatible. In interspecific crosses full inter-incompatibility or unilateral self-incompatibility was observed.
Na podstawie obserwacji łagiewek pyłkowych, wykonanych przy użyciu mikroskopu fluorescencyjnego, oceniono samozgodność oraz samoniezgodność u pięciu odmian sadowniczych gruszy pospolitej Pyrus communis ('Packhams Triumph', 'Bera Hardy', 'Lukasówka', 'Konferencja' i 'General Leclerc'), 5 drzew gruszy dzikiej Pyrus pyraster rosnących w okolicach Poznania oraz jednego drzewa gruszy wierzbo-listnej Pyrus salicifolia. Kwitnące pędy grusz zostały umieszczone w laboratorium i w tych warunkach przeprowadzono zapylanie. Słupki do obserwacji zbierano po 48 godzinach od momentu zapylenia. Obserwacje wzrostu łagiewek pyłkowych wykazały, że dwie odmiany Pyrus communis ('Bera Hardy', 'Lukasówka') były samozgodne a 3 inne były samo niezgodne. Wszystkie ekotypy Pyrus pyraster były samoniezgodne. W międzygatunkowych krzyżowaniach obserwowano pełną lub jednokierunkową niezgodność.

Internet auction sites are trading platforms with huge number of visitors who may become customers. On-line auctions allow users to buy and sell products without geographical borders, as in majority of cases ordered products are delivered by surface mail. The aim of the study was to collect substantial amount of data describing on-line auctions in a variety of attributes, and customer behaviour. We provide quantitative arguments in the discussion on effectiveness of promotional features used in on-line auctions. Experimental survey showed that almost 2/3 of the total number of observed auctions were indexed in five top (out of 23) product categories. Noticeable difference in sale effectiveness was observed for particular days of week and hours of auction termination. On Saturdays and Sundays the chance to terminate an auction with transaction was 17.72% and 19.46%, respectively, while on Tuesdays – Orly 14.29%. The highest ratio of successful auction-transaction against total number of auctions ending within particular hour occurred between 19:00 and 22:00. Our approximation of job lot transactions showed that it was a common practice among bidders to buy more than one product form one seller. In the reference period about 25% of all transactions could be qualified as job-lot ones. A miniature image displayed by auction title appeared the cheapest and most price effective form of advertising an auction while promoting on action site main page was the most effective in increasing visits/displays (by 2341%), yet, the high price of this advertising feature may pay back only if customers’ visits turn into transactions.

Opis:
Eye-gaze tracking is an aspect of human-computer interaction still growing in popularity,. Tracking human gaze point can help control user interfaces and may help evaluate graphical user interfaces. At the same time professional eye-trackers are very expensive and thus unavailable for most of user interface researchers and small companies. The paper presents very effective, low cost, computer vision based, interactive eye-gaze tracking method. On contrary to other authors results the method achieves very high precision (about 1.5 deg horizontally and 2.5 deg vertically) at 20 fps performance, exploiting a simple HD web camera with reasonable environment restrictions. The paper describes the algorithms used in the eye-gaze tracking method and results of experimental tests, both static absolute point of interest estimation, and dynamic functional gaze controlled cursor steering.

By defining the fluid's thermodynamic properties, the cycle can be simplified using various assumptions. A lot of models of the combustion engine process were developed that including the thermodynamics, turbulence, and chemical kinetics to predict thermodynamic parameters of the engines. Mathematical model the working process occurring in the cylinder of the four-stroke piston-combustion engine is an object of the paper. The following assumptions consisting in that thermodynamics system is an open thermodynamical system, in accepted model were taken into account. Generalised mathematical model of the working process in the cylinder of the piston-four-stroke combustion engine was worked out. Dependences describing instantaneous volume of the working charge in the cylinder, equation of the balance of the of the working charge quantity in the cylinder and state equation of the working charge in the cylinder were considered at formulating of assumptions. Values of coefficients for each component processes of working cycle with taking into consideration of the dependence concerning the compression process , the combustion process, and expansion process after finishing of the combustion process were an object of worked out mathematical model. For nonstationary processes formulating working cycle of the engine realized during openings of valves (the open system), the quantity and composition of the working charge in the cylinder, its specific heat and temperature are variable. The temperature difference between the working charge and walls temperature of borderering the space of the cylinder was taken into account, too. Generalized mathematical model of the working process in the cylinder of the piston- four-stroke combustion engine applying for the theoretical analysis of the working process in the combustion engine, as well as for working out of experimental results was elaborated.
