The present study investigated the effect of surface roughness on plasma assisted nitriding (PAN) process kinetics of Ni-base alloys. Two model alloys, namely Ni-10Cr and Ni-14Cr-4Al (wt.%) and commercial Rene 80, were examined. To elucidate the effect of surface roughness on nitriding kinetics, three methods of surface preparation were used, (1) polishing up with 1 μm diamond suspension, (2) grinding up to 220 grit sand-paper, and (3) grit blasting. The samples from each type of material were nitrided under the same conditions and investigated after processing. It was found that increase in roughness results in decreasing nitriding kinetics. The decrease of nitriding kinetics depends on alloy chemical composition, namely more complex chemistry resulted in smaller decrease of kinetics. Moreover, grit-blasting was found to be an improper method for surface preparation for PAN. The responsible mechanism for the effect of surface roughness on PAN kinetics of Ni-base alloys was proposed.

A solution of (E)-2,5-dimethyl-3-hexene (͟1) in dichloromethane containing tetraphenylporphine as a photosensitizer was illuminated, under an oxygen atmosphere, with a sodium lamp, and 3-hydroperoxy-2,5-dimethyl-4-hexene (͟2) was obtained. It partially rearranged in CDCl₃, to give a mixture of hydroperoxide (͟2) and (E)-2-hydroperoxy-2,5-dimethyl-3-hexene (͟3), in the ratio 2 : 3.
W wyniku fotochemicznie inicjowanego procesu utleniania (E)- -2 , 5-dimetylo-3-heksenu otrzymano 3-hydroperoksy-2,5-dimetylo-4- -heksen. Na podstawie badań ¹H-NMR stwierdzono, że ten nowo otrzymany wodoronadtlenek ulega częściowemu samorzutnemu przegrupowaniu w CDCl₃ do (E)-2-hydroperoksy-2, 5-dimetylo-3-heksenu.

The subject matter of the training varies depending on the activities of the recruits. If a recruited person is not ready to devote his life to a suicide attack, he may be rejected and sent home. In such a case, such a person may be entrusted with another type of mission which he or she may carry out in his own country. Sometimes recruits do not go to training because they are not able to contact the agent who is due to deliver them to the camp, or because they arrive at the camp after they arrive in the country of destination and were under the watch of special forces.

The leaders of the global jihad reveal a growing interest in the use of weapons causing the greatest damage and losses in the civilian population [1]. Al-Qaeda since the early 90s of the twentieth century was interested in buying weapons of mass destruction or components necessary to produce it [2]. Already in 1999 Osama bin Laden said that acquire nuclear and chemical weapons is a religious duty [3]. Nets of islamists also manipulate public opinion by threatening to use chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) [4,5]. Although these actions are purely propaganda and are part of the psychological warfare, the fact is that this grid they make progress in planning the increasingly sophisticated methods of attacks.

The description undertaken attempts to investigate the threat of Islamic terrorism in Europe. This problem is still real, because the countries of the Old Continent participating in the so-called the war against global terrorism already experienced terrorist attacks on their territories. The main objective of this work is to determine the capabilities of the terrorist threat by examining the essence of the phenomenon of modern Islamic terrorism in the European area and the assessment of the threat. During the development of this description the author used different research methods, and the main criterion for their selection was a rationalization of the course and the possibility of obtaining objective results. Method of analysis and detailed examination of documents has been used as a gateway and adapted in the optimal way to achieve the desired result in the form of leaked conclusions. The leading element to the entire research process was a critical analysis of the literature on the subject of research. Literature and the sources from which were used in the study can be divided into several thematic segments: the history of Islam and the sources of Islamic fundamentalism, history and theory of terrorism, the sources of law in the context of counter-terrorism and policies in the field of counter-terrorism and the fight against this phenomenon. Literature research in the field of scientific studies in the context of the presented thematic sections, characterized by diverse accessibility, which consists of a number of items related to the Muslim religion and Islamic fundamentalism, terrorism and the disciplines of law, as well as occurring much less frequently highly specialized positions describing the security system of anti-terrorist.

The aim of this article is to present the most important issues related to West European perceptions of the history of South Slavs in the second half of the 18th and the early 19th century, a time of an increased interest in Slavic history, a process that ran parallel to the development of the Enlightenment perception of history. The analysis shows that in the second half of the 18th c. and the early19th c., in the face of the increasing weakness of Ottoman Turkey, the local Slavic communities were rediscovered in the Balkans. Although West European historiographies were familiar with them, the invention of new historical tools and contexts in the Age of Enlightenment resulted in a selective treatment thereof. It made it easy to consider South Slavs as uncivilised communities which, contrary to historical facts, remained at a primitive, tribal stage of development.

The conducted research revealed that the matter of age in the sources of Roman law appeared several times in a combination with the victim and was the feature of some delicts and crimes. The article demonstrates that in Roman law, in cases of unlawful acts, not only was the perpetrator’s age important, but also sometimes the age of the victim depended on the perpetrator’s liability. In modern law, we can also find the provisions in which the perpetrator’s liability depends on the age of the victim. For example, Article 200 § 1 of the Polish Penal Code can be listed here. The aim of the presented article is to describe unlawful acts (mostly crimes) occurring in Roman law, in which the perpetrator’s liability depended on the age of the victim. So far, the above-mentioned thematic hasn’t been described in the literature of the subject, because when the matter of age in this context was analyzed, the most attention was focused on the age of the perpetrator and his ability to bear liability. The result of the research was to discover and elaborate Roman law sources where in fact the perpetrator’s liability depended on the age of the victim. Selected examples are presented in the text.
Przeprowadzone badania ujawniły, że wiek w źródłach prawa rzymskiego, kilkakrotnie pojawił się w połączeniu z osobą pokrzywdzonego (poszkodowanego) i stanowił znamię niektórych deliktów i przestępstw. Pokazuje to, że w prawie rzymskim przy czynach bezprawnych wiek miał znaczenie nie tylko wtedy, gdy dotyczyło to samego sprawcy. Niekiedy odpowiedzialność sprawcy była uzależniona od tego, w jakim wieku był pokrzywdzony. We współczesnym prawie również możemy odkryć przepisy, które odpowiedzialność sprawcy uzależniają od wieku ofiary. Prezentowany artykuł ma na celu przedstawienie czynów bezprawnych występujących w prawie rzymskim, w których odpowiedzialność sprawcy była uzależniona od wieku ofiary. Dotychczas taka tematyka nie była podejmowana w literaturze przedmiotu, bowiem jeżeli temat wieku w takim kontekście był analizowany, to najczęściej uwaga skupiała się na wieku sprawcy i jego zdolności do ponoszenia odpowiedzialności.

The terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001 realized to the international community that there are new challenges and threats, which in a completely different light presented the phenomenon of terrorism. They are characterized by an extremely significant result of social, psychological and media. The international situation has undergone dynamic changes. Conditions of international security has changed. The duty of the EU countries is to fight against this kind of threats. Ensuring the safety of citizens within the EU is the responsibility of each state element thereof. This paper deals with the problem of the threat of Islamic terrorism on the territory of the Community. The author tries to present it in the most transparent manner this threat, as well as selected aspects of counteracting this phenomenon.

Problem. Is it possible to apply the principles of martial arts in life, in professional practice, and in management? We will check it on the example of Professor Kazimierz Obodyński. Method. The author uses the method of participant observation (1987–2015), document analysis, and content literature analysis. Results. Judo practice took place, but essentially the path of “spiritual jujutsu and judo” was implemented, which was associated with management and activities in various scientific and social organizations. Conclusions. In the analyzed case of Professor Kazimierz Obodyński, applying the principles of martial ways in life, in professional practice, and in managing various institutions proved to be possible and effective.
