Opis:
This paper is final overview of investigations on the accuracy of basic estimators of trapezoidal probability distribution samples of the measured data. For symmetrical trapezoidal PDF of straight as well concaved sides, using Monte-Carlo method of simulation, the standard deviation (SD) of linear 1- and 2-component estimators are evaluated. Approaches for theirs evaluation are proposed. It is established that in the ratio of upper and bottom bases of trapezoidal PDF in the range from 1 to 0,35 the mid-range value has smaller standard deviation (SD) than the mean value and median. It is find then for the whole family of the symmetric linear trapezoidal PDF more accurate than above single element estimators are two-component (2C) estimators as the linear form of the mean and mid-range values of the sample. Their coefficients are found, properties discussed and formulas of SD are given. The new simplified 2C-estimator of equal coefficients is also proposed. These estimators successfully extend estimation of the measurand value as the sample mean and description of its accuracy by the uncertainty type A recommended by the international guides of uncertainty evaluation in measurement GUM-2008 [1], EA-4/02 [2] and by Handbook NASA [3]. Approaches of described below investigations could be effectively applied also for other models of convoluted PDF-s.

Opis:
After short introduction transfer coefficients of the unloaded four arms bridge of arbitrary variable arm resistances, supplied by current or voltage source, are given in Table 1. Their error propagation formulas are find and two rationalized forms of accuracy measures, i.e. related to the initial bridge sensitivities and of double component form as sum of zero error and increment error of the bridge transfer coefficients are introduced. Both forms of transfer coefficient measures of commonly used bridge - of similar initial arm resistances in balance and different variants of their jointed increments, are given in Table 3. As the example limited errors of some resistance bridges with platinum Pt100 industrial sensors of class A and B are calculated Table 4 and analyzed. Presented approach is discussed and found as the universal solution for all bridges and also for any other circuits used for parametric sensors.

Opis:
A proposal of evaluation of the uncertainty type A of the stationary random component of measured signal from its regularly sampled observations when they are auto-correlated is described. In the first step the regularly variable components of the signal are identified and removed from the raw sample data. Then upgreaded formulas for standard uncertainty type A of the sample and of the mean value are expressed with use the correction coefficients or the so-called "effective number" of observations. These quantities depend on number of observations and on the autocorrelation function of the sample cleaned from regular components. Two methods of finding and estimating the autocorrelation function for the sample data are also described. Some numerical examples are included.

The novelty of this work is the analysis of accuracy measures and its visualization especially for the simultaneous two parameter measurements. The parameters of the resistance-to-voltage converters, i.e. different types of DC circuits with arbitrary variable resistive sensors (of relative resistance increments), and their accuracy measures are discussed. Transfer coefficients, limited error (and also standard uncertainty) as functions of relative increments of resistance are shown in broad range for different types of supply and sensor configuration of the circuit of initial 2D converters.

Three-element impedance including the resistance R as the main parameter and the residual parameters: serial inductance L and a parallel capacitance C is used as an equivalent circuit of resistor. It is the basic model of resistor for AC current. The real component of this impedance is not equal to the resistance R for the DC current, and there is the imaginary component. Both components depend on the frequency. Variants of the model with four different connections are also analyzed. Patterns of the relative resistor frequency errors in the generalized form, i.e. as a function of the relative values of resistance and frequency of the circuit are determined and their curves are given. Considerations are illustrated by few numerical examples

This paper briefly discusses the limitations of the international Guide ISO GUM framework and proposes improving the type A method of uncertainty evaluation of regulary sampled observations. The proposal demonstrates the influence of autocorrelation on measurement resultants and for correlated observations, the calculation of their effective number, smaller than the real value is presented. Numerical example from the computer simulation is given. Results obtained by the proposed method and classical GUM method are compared and discussed.

The expansion of logarithm likelihood ratio in the stochastic series to find the sequential change-point detection of non-Gaussian sequences is used. The moment criteria of the minimum of upper limit error probabilities sum to find the expansion coefficients is applied. The proposed method is a semi-parametric type of cumulative sum (CUSUM) algorithm which needs of higher-order statistics. Results show that polynomial algorithms are more effective in comparison with similar non-parametric procedures.

The АС impedance model of a liquid conductivity has been developed to assess the influence of electromagnetic vector potential. It has been proved that the field in a liquid conductor is quasi-static. Approximation error, even taken for very concentrated solutions (e.g. sea water), does not exceed 0.01 ppm. The calculation of resistance of the four-electrode cell is given with the account of Ampere's circuit law. Two types of errors are defined: DC error due to finite thickness of electrodes, and AC error due to presence of displacement currents when using an impedance model.

The shifted up one period of cosine function with field under it normalized to 1 is proposed to be use as the un conventional model of probability density function (PDF). It could also approximate Normal probability distribution in the range š 2.5 standard deviation with accuracy of about š0.02, which is fully acceptable in the evaluation of measurement uncertainty. In this paper the properties of the above cosine based PDF are considered. The possibility of its applications in the routine data assessment and in virtual instruments with automatic uncertainty calcula tions is recommended.

Opis:
In this paper two robust methods of assessing the value and the uncertainty of the measurand from the samples of small number of experimental data are presented and compared. Those methods can be used when some measurements results contain outliers, i.e. when the values of certain measurement results significantly differ from the others. They allow to set a credible statistical parameters of the measurements with the use of all experimental data. The following considerations are illustrated by the numerical examples of multi-laboratory measurement data key comparison. Compared are the results obtained by a classical method with rejection of outliers with two robust methods: a rescaled median absolute deviation MADS and an iterative two-criteria method. The paper also presents the advantages of the robust iterative statistical method in estimating the accuracy of the tested laboratory measurement results during its accreditation on the sample of four elements with outlier. A comparison with the estimates obtained by the standard procedure for evaluating performance accuracy is also provided.

Dynamic properties of the four-electrode cell with conducting liquid inside are described in the paper. The cell is used as a sensor of the electrolytic conductivity (EC) in the national Ukrainian standard. Electrical model and physical model for the temperature changes of this sensor are presented. To avoid additional measurement errors the stable state in desired temperature should be obtain. To obtain values of parameters describing the dynamic process of EC cell for temperature changes the experimental way was chosen. Installation and measurement procedure is presented. It is found that temperature transition process in the EC cell can be modeled by the first order differential equation and depends mainly on two cell tubes. For establishing the cell temperature within an error less then 0.002ºC time 36 min is needed.
