Opis:
The dynamics of magnetization in low-dimensional systems of micromagnets has been a very interesting subject of scientific studies last years. Excitations in such systems may have forms of normal modes. The frequency of the mode can be determined with the use of analytical methods as well as of micromagnetic numerical techniques. One of the latter is the Hamiltonian dynamical matrix method. The method is an analogue of that used to determine oscillations of atoms in crystal. The advantage of it is the possibility of calculating both of all frequencies and profiles of normal modes. Excitations in a finite system can depend on the size of it, as was noticed by experimentalists. The aim of this study is an analysis of eigenstates of the chain consisting of finite numbers of nanomagnets and dependence of states on orientation of magnetic moments and external magnetic field.

Opis:
The Heisenberg isotropic exchange Hamiltonian with the nearest neighbour interactions for the ring of N = 12 nodes (the clock dial plate) with the spin 1/2 has been diagonalized within the manifold of all 66 two-magnon excitations from the ferromagnetic ground state. The spectrum consists of 5 full bands, i.e. bands defined over the whole Brillouin zone, and a single band which is doubly rarefied, i.e. defined only for even values of quasimomentum. The rarefied band is found to be dispersionless outside the centre of the Brillouin zone. It separates two bands of "weakly bounded" spin waves from two other which are "weakly antibounded". The last remaining band is situated below this collection of scattered spin waves, and describes two tightly bounded spin deviations. The spectrum exhibits dispersion, but it is degenerate (singlet and quintet) at the boundary of the Brillouin zone.

Opis:
In this work electron magnetic resonance (EMR) spectra of off-stoichiometric $Ni_{50}Mn_{35.5}In_{14.5}$ Heusler alloy ribbons obtained by melt-spinning method were measured. The EMR measurements were performed on the X-band (9.36 GHz) spectrometer. Angle dependences were registered for three orientations of sample, with the use of uniaxial goniometer at 300. The results exhibited magnetic anisotropy and were used for calculating the principal values of g tensor.

Opis:
This paper presents the application of X-ray fluorescence and X-ray diffraction methods for the study of copper oxide structures as an absorber layer in thin-film solar cells. The layers of copper oxide were applied by direct current magnetron sputtering. Quantitative and qualitative analysis of oxide layers were performed using XRF (X-ray fluorescence). The studies showed a high copper content in both samples, amounting to 98% and 96%, as well as trace amounts of other elements (nickel, lead). The XRD (X-ray diffraction) study showed Cu20 and Cu8O phases, amorphism ranging from 24% to 44%, and crystallinity from 55% to 75%. Crystallites of 30 nm were also determined. The aim of the study was to determine the chemical and phase composition of the layers obtained and to determine the degree of their contamination depending on the parameters of the manufacturing technology in terms of their application in photovoltaics. One of the samples showed an advantage both in terms of material and structural composition.
