The paper analyses changes that occurred in production of renewable energy in EU countries in 2004-2017 with special focus on Poland. Forecasts of renewable energy shares in total gross energy consumption for 2020 were calculated for EU and individual member states to verify whether it is possible to achieve the goals determined in Europe 2020 strategy. It is probable that the goal for EU will be achieved, however, a lot of countries will face difficulties in meeting it, and some other countries simply have no chances to meet the goal. Unfortunately, Poland is among the last group of countries. There are also states that have achieved the goal determined for 2020 much earlier, for example Bulgaria, Estonia or Sweden. In the next step, development of the renewable energy share in final consumption in power industry, in heating and cooling, as well as in transport is analysed. Based on this, using the method of k-means, a group of countries that in 2004 and in 2017 were leaders in this sphere, but still have a lot to do to reach high level of share of renewable energy is identified. The group of leaders in 2004 and 2017 slightly changed. Estonia and Lithuania joined Denmark, Croatia, Latvia, Austria, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Finland and Sweden. Poland still has a lot to do to reach the European level of renewable energy share, however the trend of renewable energy share that has been observed since 2012 is really alarming.

Weigh-in-Motion (WIM) systems are designed for weighing vehicles driving across a measurement site. Because during measurements the vehicle has to come in physical contact with the components of the system, WIM systems always use built-in sensors installed in road pavement. Each WIM system consists of force sensors placed in one, two or even several lines, perpendicular to the direction of traffic. The idea behind WIM systems is to measure the dynamic loads that the wheels of a moving vehicle exert on the road surface and, on this basis, to estimate static wheel loads as well as gross vehicle weight.

The numerical analysis was conducted using the FEM ABAQUS software to establish the impact of various undercut anchor diameters on the rock breakout cone formation. The central focus of the investigations was on the rock breakout prism, which tends to be approximated to a cone or a quadrilateral pyramid, including its characteristic parameter, the angle of failure cone . Assuming that the embedment depth and the undercut anchor head angle were constant for the considered range of anchor head diameters, it remains unclear, however, precisely how the anchor head diameter affects the value of the failure cone angle, and thus the surface area of the full breakout prism. This conclusion stands in confirmation of our former considerations regarding the impact of the anchor head angle on the size of the breakout surface. Furthermore, it is supported by the results obtained from the mechanical model simulation of the anchor-rock system, where the anchor head angle and the effective embedment depth were determined as significant factors affecting the assumed rock breakout failure. The underlying aspect of the reported investigation was to evaluate the effectiveness of the non-conventional rock breakout technology performed with an undercut anchor, whose primary factors were both the pullout force and the assumed volume of the rock cone.

Opis:
An EPS ventilated panel, which may be applied as an external insulation to humid walls, is investigated. Dimensions of the air channel sections have been determined using the ANSYS software. Afterwards, the drying rate of the walls externally insulated with EPS, mineral wool and EPS ventilated panel has been compared using the WUFI software. The ventilated panel increases the drying rate when compared with the standard polystyrene panel and increases the heat loss through the wall by less than 20%.

Opis:
The KOBO extrusion is an unconventional elastic-plastic deformation process in which the phenomenon of chang- ing a path of plastic deformation due to die cyclic oscillations by a given angle and with a given frequency is applied. As the result of the application of the oscillating rotary motion of the die, the reduction of the extrusion force was obtained. The numerical study of the KOBO extrusion of metallic materials was presented in this paper. The three-dimensional coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian (CEL) analysis was applied. The relationship between the extrusion force and the punch displacement during the KOBO process was achieved. The effective plastic strain distribution in the butt was found. The results of the numerical computations were compared with the experimen- tal data. The influence of the material hardening parameters on the cyclic loading phenomena (ratcheting, mean stress relaxation) in terms of the course of the KOBO extrusion was also examined. The proper determination of the material hardening parameters can help to optimize the KOBO process in terms of the reduction the extrusion force and the choice of the amount of die oscillations.

The numerical results of superplastic punchless deep drawing of the Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy were presented in this paper. The material behavior subjected to the forming process was characterized by deformation-microstructure constitutive equations including the grain growth. Superplastic stress-strain characteristics used in the numerical simulations were computed with the application of authorial program. The explicit integration scheme is used in solving differential equations. The numerical simulations of the super-elastic deep drawing were made with finite element method analysis. The von Mises stress distribution in the blow-forming process was obtained. The possible faults of extrusions caused by the improper load history as well as unsuitable pressure were also presented in this paper. The numerical simulations included in this research allow for the proper choice of material and drawing parameters which can help to optimize the superplastic forming process.

Numerical simulations of tension and shear tests for a polycrystalline, anisotropic material were performed using crystal plasticity theory. The slip was considered here as the main mechanism of plastic deformation. Constitutive equations to describe the elastic-plastic deformation caused by the slip are presented. The generation and meshing of various shapes geometries (cubic and paddy shapes) with randomly-orientated grains by means of open source program NEPER program was shown. The Voronoi tessellation was used in order to include morphological properties of a crystalline material. The selected results of elastic-plastic analyses (stress, strain distributions and the macroscopic stress-strain resulting from homogenization) are presented here. The results obtained show the non-uniform distribution of stress and strain for different grains associated with their crystal orientation. The crystal plasticity finite element modelling of materials subjected to plastic deformation is important for microstructure-based mechanical predictions, as well as for the engineering design and to perform simulations involving not only the change of a material’s shape at a macro level but also the phenomena occurring in material in a micro-scale.

Numerical simulations of the KOBO extrusion process are presented in this paper. The coupled thermomechanical Eulerian-Lagrangian approach was applied for the three-dimensional finite element model. The dynamic explicit Euler forward method was used in numerical calculations. The elastic-plastic Chaboche model assuming isotropic and kinematic hardening under variable temperature conditions was applied to describe the behaviour of the material under cyclic loading. In numerical computations Chaboche material model implemented in commercial software, as well as the proprietary one written as FORTRAN procedure were tested. The numerical results present the stress and strain distributions in the extruded material, as well as an increase of temperature due to the plastic work and friction. The shape of plastic strain zones was verified experimentally. The approach presented in the paper is a promising numerical tool to simulate the KOBO process.

n the Bardo Syncline (Holy Cross Mountains, Poland), two beds of tuffite (named the Niewachlów tuffites) have been discovered within greywackes of Ludlow (Silurian) age. K-Ar dating of the lower bed yielded an age of 292.8 ±4.0 Ma, while the upper bed provided an age of 341.9 ±4.3 Ma. The dates pertain to metamorphic alteration of the tuffite, related to reactivation of the Daleszyce Fault Zone. In this zone, biotite crystals present in the foliation zones were recrystallized and their K-Ar isotopic system was rejuvenated in a temperature range of ~270–300°C. The dates that were obtained define the ages of two tectono-metamorphic episodes and reflect the timing of displacements along the fault which, in turn, reflect two deformation phases during the Variscan Orogeny (Mississippian and Early Permian). Moreover the dates may be correlated with Late Variscan magmatic activity in the Holy Cross Mountains and adjacent areas. The deformation of the Daleszyce Fault Zone may be regarded as resulting from displacements of lithospheric blocks within the Trans European Suture Zone during the Late Variscan reconstruction of the Baltica palaeocontinent margin.

Lubelskie voivodeship has been standing out from other Polish administrative regions because of its agricultural function that has been shaped for centuries. Food and agricultural products originating in this region are seen as healthy, ecological and tradition-based. These resources have been noticed and used by the local government for building the regional brand and for promoting it. The main aim of this paper was to present the level of Polish people’s familiarity with lubelskie culinary heritage. Research findings obtained by means of the preliminary study and the diagnostic poll prove initiatives that have been undertaken to be effective. Inhabitants of other voivodeships do recognise lubelskie voivodeship and its culinary tradition, furthermore, a great majority know regional products from lubelskie. A development of tourism based on such a heritage is therefore an opportunity to make lubelskie voivodeship’s tourist offer more attractive. The offer may also become an important component for creating the brand.

Opis:
Efficient control of the process of jigging ore of small and fine grain allows avoiding the loss of valuable material in production residual. Due to the multi-dimensionality and multi-connectivity of this enrichment process, classical control methods do not allow achieving the maximum technological indicators of enrichment. This paper proposes investigating intelligent algorithms for controlling the jigging process, which determine the key variables - the level of the natural «bed» and the ripple frequency of the jigging machine. Algorithms are developed using fuzzy logic, neural and hybrid networks. The adequacy of intelligent algorithms was evaluated using the following criteria: correlation of expert and model values (R); Root Mean Square Error (RMSE); Mean absolute percentage error (MAPE). To assess the adequacy of the obtained algorithms, a test sample of input variables, different from the training one, was compiled. As a consequence, we determined an algorithm that gives a minimal discrepancy between the calculated and experimental data.

The article presents the results of studies on the tourist space of the Lublin Region conducted so far by employees of the Department of Regional Geography and Tourism at the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Spatial Management of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University. The studies, regarding the environmental and cultural tourist values, the level of management and transport accessibility, as well as selected elements of the tourism policy of the local authorities, permitted the determination of the tourist potential of spatial units (administrative and physicogeographical) with various importance and character. Areas with varied degrees of attractiveness were distinguished based on their tourist potential. Those classified as attractive and very attractive were described in detail in terms of: the degree of development of the tourist function, functional types of spatial units, perception of tourist space by users, and attitudes of the local community towards the development of tourism.
