Opis:
Described were IBMER (Institute for Buildings Mechanization and Electrification of Agriculture (IBMER)) activities aimed at the development and verification of research procedures used for the assessment of commercial family farm activities and for evaluation of progress in their technological and ecological modernization. Current assessment of agricultural farm activities has been conducted using an appropriate IBMER procedure [Wójcicki 2008], which comprises tables for parametric (numerical) description of commercial farm equipment and activities in 2008.Development family farm is modernized on the basis of the project of its organization and mechanization in the nearest 5-7 years (e.g. until 2015). Such project may be developed using new IBMER technological and balance sheet procedure (methods), which has been currently (2009) elaborated and verified. A comparison of the recent activities with the accepted organizational project allows to determine the level of progress in the sphere of technical and ecological modernization of the analysed farm and its infrastructure. Both research procedures contain a number of common methodical bases, the part of which was synthetically compiled in tables concerning the assessment of modernization of a sample farm with farm area 40 ha AL, specializing in potato, milk and beef cattle production.

Opis:
The current situation and predicted socio-economic, technological and ecological changes, which under the influence of scientific progress, implemented Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and globalied food markets will happen in Polish agriculture and its infrastructure by 2030 are presented in the paper. Owing to the progressive integration with the economy and markets of the European Union (EU), further intensified polarization processes and modernisation of farms is perceived accompanied by restructuring of agriculture, agri-food processing industries, production services, rural supply chains and the other infrastructure in rural areas. The future model of agriculture and agrotechnology is shaping, which is characterized by arable area (AL) diminishing to 12M ha, a decreasing number of family commercial farms and smaller agricultural holdings to 400 thousand, diminishing livestock population and number of farms specializing in commercial production of milk, meat, eggs but also sugar beets, potatoes, vegetable and fruit. Crop yield and animal productivity will increase, so despite diminishing AL and livestock population, both the global production and final output of Polish agriculture will be growing annually by between 0.5 and 1.0%. Quantitative and qualitative increase in plant and livestock production will be taking place accompanied by farms and agricultural enterprises switching to the system of sustainable agriculture (including organic and precision farming) integrated with multifunctional rural development and protection of the natural environment in rural areas. Various forms of mechanization and energy supplies for agricultural production will be used aiming at diminishing its cumulated energy-intensity and lowering unit costs of raw material and food product acquisition. The share of agriculture and rural areas in acquisition and consumption of renewable energy resources (RER) will be increasing. Further progress in agriculture will be dependant on modernization and all-around development of agricultural and rural infrastructure.

Opis:
The paper presents the mathematical analysis for the design of a new tennis ball launcher in order to assess the possibilities for its technical implementation. First, traditional launchers are described. Next, several new requirements improving training possibilities of such machines are suggested. The motion equation of the flying tennis ball is formulated and numerically solved. This makes it possible to analyze the trajectories of the ball for different initial conditions: elevation and heading angles, as well as the rollers angle. Then, the mathematical analysis of the launcher with two counter rotating rollers is presented. Stiffness (Young's) modulus and friction coefficients for the typical tennis ball have been determined ex-perimentally. Based on these, initial conditions for the throw have been found: rotating speeds of the rollers and powers of the driving motors.

Opis:
It has been increasingly realised that geological storage of CO2 is a prospective option for reduction of CO2 emissions. The CO2 geological storage potential of sedimentary basins with the territory of Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, and the Baltic States is here assessed, and different storage options have been considered. The most prospective technology is hydrodynamic trapping in the deep saline aquifers. The utilisation of hydrocarbon (HC) fields is considered as a mature technology; however storage capacities are limited in the region and are mainly related to enhanced oil (gas) recovery. Prospective reservoirs and traps have been identified in the Danube, Vienna and East Slovakian Neogene basins, the Neogene Carpathian Foredeep, the Bohemian and Fore-Sudetic Upper Paleozoic basins, the Mesozoic Mid-Polish Basin and the pericratonic Paleozoic Baltic Basin. The total storage capacity of the sedimentary basins is estimated to be as much as 10170 Mt of CO2 in deep saline aquifer structures, and 938 Mt CO2 in the depleted HC fields. The utilisation of coal seams for CO2 storage is related to the Upper Silesian Basin where CO2 storage could be combined with enhanced recovery of coal-bed methane.
