Opis:
A review of papers that investigate the static and dynamic coupled buckling and post-buckling behaviour of thin-walled structures is carried out. The problem of static coupled buckling is sufficiently well-recognized. The analysis of dynamic interactive buckling is limited in practice to columns, single plates and shells. The applications of finite element method (FEM) or/and analytical-numerical method (ANM) to solve interaction buckling problems are on-going. In Poland, the team of scientists from the Department of Strength of Materials, Lodz University of Technology and co-workers developed the analytical-numerical method. This method allows to determine static buckling stresses, natural frequencies, coefficients of the equation describing the post-buckling equilibrium path and dynamic response of the plate structure subjected to compression load and/or bending moment. Using the dynamic buckling criteria, it is possible to determine the dynamic critical load. They presented a lot of interesting results for problems of the static and dynamic coupled buckling of thin-walled plate structures with complex shapes of cross-sections, including an interaction of component plates. The most important advantage of presented analytical-numerical method is that it enables to describe all buckling modes and the post-buckling behaviours of thin-walled columns made of different materials. Thin isotropic, orthotropic or laminate structures were considered.

Opis:
The present paper deals with a dynamic coupled response of functionally graded columns with a quadratic cross-section subjected to an in-plane pulse loading. An Al-TiC metal- -ceramic material is applied. It is assumed that functionally graded materials (FGMs) are subject to Hooke’s law. The thin-walled structures are simply supported at the ends. This study is devoted to the stability problem of rectangular dynamic pulse load. The effects of temperature, wave propagation and damping are neglected. In order to obtain the equations of motion of individual plates, the classic laminate plate theory (CLPT) has been modified in such a way that it additionally accounts for all components of inertial forces. A plate model is adopted for the structures. The problem of an interaction of the global mode with the local ones is concerned (i.e., a three-modes approach). Attention has been focused on some unexpected aspects related to dynamic interactive buckling of columns having two axes of the cross-section symmetry. In the present study, a new approach to the description of this phenomenon, based on Koiter’s theory, has been applied.

Opis:
In this paper, the dynamic behaviour of active composite blades were considered. Both numerical and experimental studies were performed. It was assumed that the rotor hub would be rotated at constant velocity. Experimental measurements were made. A special test rig was built which consisted of an active rotor with three composite blades, an electric drive system and a system of Digital Signal Processors. This DSP system was used for the excitation of the blades, control of the hub’s rotary velocity and data acquisition. The MFC patch and strain-gauge sensors were used. The influence of the hub’s rotary velocity and/or piezoelectric effect on the dynamic behaviour of the blades was determined. The numerical simulations were performed using two commercial simulation programmes: Abaqus and Matlab.
W niniejszej pracy przedstawiono dynamikę aktywnych łopat kompozytowych. Przeprowadzono badania numeryczne i eksperymentalne.

Opis:
In the paper, the authors discuss the numerical and experimental modal analysis of the cantilever thin-walled beams made of a carbon-epoxy laminate. Two types of beams were considered: circumferentially asymmetric stiffness (i.e., CAS) and circumferentially uniform stiffness (i.e., CUS) beams. The layer-up configurations of the laminate were chosen to get a vibration mode coupling effect in both analysed cases. The aim of the paper was to perform the numerical and experimental modal analysis of the composite structures, when a flapwise bending with torsion coupling effect or flapwise-chordwise bending coupling effect took place. Firstly, numerical studies by the finite element method was performed. The numerical simulations were carried out by the Lanczos method in the Abaqus software package. The natural frequencies and the corresponding free vibration modes were determined. Next, the experimental modal analyses of the CAS and CUS beams were performed. The test stand was consisted of a special grip, two beams with an adhered holder, the LMS Scadas III system with a modal hammer and an acceleration sensor. Finally, the results of both methods were compared.

Opis:
In the present work an example of the numerical modeling of electro-mechanical coupling of the activator in the form of cantilever beam made of two layers PVDF subjected to an inverse polarity is described. Calculations were done for static deflections at the selected voltage levels and for modal analysis with an included and excluded piezoelectric effect. The effect of active material on the behavior of the beam was examined. In order to validate the model, results of the static calculation were compared with the strict analytical solution and the results presented by other authors.

Opis:
The effects of storing honey for 18 months at room temperature or in a freezer as well as the impact of heating it to different temperatures (30, 40 and 50°C) were studied. The rheological parameters of fresh rapeseed honey were compared to those of the non-stored and unheated samples (control). The storage temperature significantly influenced the rheological behaviour of the honey (except adhesiveness). Higher values of all textural parameters were found in frozen honey in comparison with control and room temperature samples. However, in comparison with the control samples, higher values (around twice) of the dynamic viscosity, firmness, work and adhesive force were produced by honey stored at room temperature. Thermal treatment of the honey heated at 30, 40 and 50°C influenced a continuous decrease in all of the textural properties (with the exception of the cohesive force) compared to the control samples (20°C). The average change in the texture-temperature coefficient for dynamic viscosity, firmness, work, adhesiveness and adhesive force from 20 to 50°C was similar (between 6.62 and 4.09%). Significant, very close and positive Spearmen’s rank correlations (0.894 ≤ rS ≤ 0.987) were observed for dynamic viscosity, firmness, work, adhesiveness and adhesive force. Lower correlations (0.524 ≤ rS ≤ 0.684) were found between the cohesive force and all of the other textural properties.
