Opis:
The purpose of this work was to obtain samples of CL-20 by precipitation process in a solvent/nonsolvent system, under variable process parameters such as: antisolvent kind, time of nonsolvent addition, stirrer speed, mass of seeded crystals of ε-CL-20. Received samples were studied in the aspect of their sensitivity to friction. As the results of the crystallization processes were prepared crystals of different sizes and shapes depend on applied parameters. It was affirmed, that applied antisolvent has essential influence on type of received crystals. CL-20 crystals of cuboid shape and sizes of 80-200 μm were obtained by recrystallization from ethyl acetate/chloroform. As the result of the recrystallization from ethyl acetate/xylene crystals with rounded edges were obtained. Crystals, from both samples, were mostly single and showed the lowest sensitivity to friction. Also, the crystals of irregular shape and sharp-edged agglomerates were obtained from systems with n-heptane, isooctane, cyclohexane and toluene, which revealed the highest friction sensitivities.

Opis:
The results of the studies on the synthesis, mechanical and thermal properties of polypropylene composites with various amount of halloysite filler are presented. Halloysite (HNT) belongs to the silica type characterized by a two-layer 1:1 structure. This work was aimed to develop a method for the modification of halloysite in its prime use as a filler for polypropylene by extrusion. The composites contain 1, 3, 5 and 7 wt.% of HNT. The degree of crystallinity of the composites decrease with increasing halloysite content. The results confirm the expectations that composites of interesting physicochemical, mechanical and thermal properties can be obtained. The mechanical properties studied show that the filler modification method used leads to the synthesis of polymer composites of improved thermal and mechanical properties.

Opis:
The aim of the research was to define the influence of treatment methods, with the use of growth biostimulators and herbicide on the yield structure of three varieties of edible potato. The series of field research was carried out in the years 2015-2017, in the region of eastern Poland, in Biała Podlaska municipality, in Lubelskie voivodship, on light, acidic soil. The experiment was constructed with the use of random sub-blocks method in three repetitions. The tested factors included: I. factor – three early edible potato varieties Owacja, Bellarosa, Vineta; II. factor – five methods of treatment of the field of potato crops with the use of growth biostimulators: GreenOk-Uniwersal Pro and Asahi SL and their combinations with Avatar 293 ZC herbicide. As a result of the conducted research it was found that the methods of treatment with the use of growth biostimulators and herbicide had a positive effect on the structure of potato tuber yields, compared to the standard object on which only mechanical care was applied. The highest weight percent of large tubers input (in fractions >51mm) was observed in case of experimental object 4. (in case of which herbicide Avatar 293 ZC and GreenOK Universal-PRO preparation were applied) as well as experimental object 3 (post applying biostimulator Asahi SL). Varieties cultivated in the experiment had a significant impact also on the structure of potato crops. An impact of weather conditions on the structure of potato tubers was further noted. Based on the conducted experiment, it can be concluded that the growth biostimulators, as well as their combination with herbicide, positively influenced the quality parameters of potato tubers. Therefore, these preparations should find wider application in agricultural practice.

Opis:
Disordered carbons prepared by slow pyrolysis of saccharose and anthracene and subsequent heat treatment at 1000ºC and 2300ºC have been studied by high energy X-ray diffraction. Computer simulations of the powder diffraction patterns of fullerenes, nanotubes and carbon models have been compared with the experimental data after conversion to real space via the Fourier transform. The presence of fullerene- and nanotube-like fragments with non-six membered rings in the investigated samples has been deduced by detailed analysis of the radial distribution functions of the saccharose- and anthracene-based carbons and related to resistance to graphitization of the saccharose-based carbons and to stability of the growing crystallites in the case of the anthracene-based carbons. The obtained results are compared to high resolution electron microscopy and Raman studies.

Opis:
Wide-angle X-ray scattering studies of carbon nanotubes produced by catalytic decomposition of acetylene on a supported Co catalyst are reported. The X-ray intensities were recorded up to maximum scattering vector K$\text{}_{max}$=24Å and then Fourier transformed to real space. Yielding the radial distribution functions of good spatial resolution were analysed by the model based on fitting procedures method. Detailed analysis of the experimental data by a least-squares fitting procedure shows that the local atomic structure exhibits the expected hexagonal network with the nearest-neighbour C-C distance of 1.41Å. Investigation of stacking nature of subsequent layers suggests the structure in which adjacent layers are arranged without spatial correlations with inter-tubule spacing of about 3.4Å.
