The paper presents the anthropodynamic dummy constructed at the Department of Automotive Vehicles and Transportation of the Kielce University of Technology, Kielce, Poland. The dummy is shown at the concept and design stages, and as a final construction. The first part of the study presents structural and dynamic requirements, and also the structure and construction selected for the dummy. The vertical dynamics of the body of a seated human is accounted for by conducting detailed analysis of the variation range of mass parameters and of the dummy elastic and damping parameters. The second part of the study presents the results of experimental simulations performed for the dummy.

In the following paper there was built a mathematical model of 13 degrees of freedom which shows a man-driver model in a sitting position with a fastened seatbelt. Next a multi-section concept of a headrest was shown, and in fact an ideal protection of the back of head and spine. There was conducted a simulation of protective activity of a headrest with the use of a man-model. Obtained results have been used to conduct the analysis which show the influence of headrest activation time and the level of its filling-in on its protective features.
W pracy zbudowano model matematyczny o 13 stopniach swobody przedstawiający człowieka-kierowcę w pozycji siedzącej, zapiętego pasami. Następnie przedstawiono koncepcję wielosekcyjnego zagłówka a w zasadzie idealnej tylnej ochrony głowy i kręgosłupa. Wykonano symulację ochronnego działania tego zagłówka z wykorzystaniem opracowanego modelu człowieka. Uzyskane wyniki wykorzystano do przeprowadzenia analiz pokazujących wpływ czasu uruchomienia zagłówka oraz stopnia jego napełnienia na właściwości ochronne zagłówka.

The following work presents research of driver behaviour in pre-accident situations conducted on Kielce Car Track within a research project N509016 31/1251. The aim of the following research work is the completion and extension of the knowledge concerning reaction times and an update to an existing data base. At the same time, driver behaviours in a particular pre-accident situation are analysed. The tests are conducted with a relatively big group of drivers, of different age and different driving experience. Reaction times are determined for three event scenarios, as it was previously mentioned, the type of scenario can significantly influence on obtained values of these times. The research conducted in a pre-arranged risk situation, where an obstacle in a form of a car mock-up suddenly forces its way into a road area with a simultaneous limitation of "room" for a manoeuvre by a lorry mock-up moving on the opposite lane and opposite direction. This work presents the pattern and scenario course of a pre-accident situation selected for tests. Measuring equipment and movable mock-ups used for research were characterised. There were presented selected, preliminary results of three trials characterised by different values of risk time (different level of accident risk). The following article presents the patterns of the first pre-accident situation under research, the research method and example research results obtained on Kielce Track.

The paper presents the results of the behaviour of drivers in emergency/risk situations caused by a pedestrian entering the driving lane from the right. They were carried out on Kielce Track in Miedziana Góra. 100 drivers were tested in various age groups at different value risk times behind 0,5s - 3,0 s. The drivers have the opportunity to perform variant defensive manoeuvres: braking, bypassing or braking with bypassing. The researchers used a specially designed, safe model-up a pedestrian, moving on the path of a car from behind the curtains limiting the visibility of the model. The paper presents and analyses the results of measurements of the reaction times of drivers in a risk time function (mental reaction time, psychomotor reaction time while "braking", motor reaction time when braking psychomotor reaction time). The presented results of drivers reaction time confirm the thesis about the influence the risk time on reaction time. Drivers' reaction times confirm the thesis on the influence of the risk time on reaction times, both when turning and braking and also indicate a trend to shorten reaction times in difficult situations. The research method allowed for the capture of many of these disturbances though the fact of such a capture itself does not mean the possibility of their unambiguous interpretation.

Following any type of statistics, the human being (a driver) is the weakest element of the man - vehicle - environment system. The paper discusses research on drivers behaviours in pre-accident situations, conducted in driving simulator auto PW under the research project MNiSzW N509 016 31/1251. Tests have been performed in a staged situation of danger involving unexpected emergence of an roadblock - passenger car into the road area, with a simultaneous limitation of space for making a passing-by manoeuvre on the opposite traffic lane, which was caused by the fact that a delivery vehicle was approaching on the lane. The work presents issues that are related to the preparation of research scenario by realising vehicle traffic in the way assuring the probability of individual tests. Basic featur es of the autoPW car driver simulator have been characterised. The modifications, introduced in the simulator for purposes of the research, have been discussed. Selected research results - the probability diagrams of occurrence ofa specific type of collision, depending on the so-called risk time (potential time that a driver has to avoid the collision), have been presented. The diagrams indicate a clear boundary beyond which avoidance of the collision becomes practically impossible. The results obtained have been compared to results of research being similar in their character, conducted in another research centre.

Reaction time is one of the basic parameters that characterize the driver and very important in the analysis of accident situations in road traffic. This paper describes research studies on the reaction time evaluation as conducted in three environments: on a typical device used in the transport psychology labs (the so-called reflexometer), in the driving simulator (autoPW) and on the driving test track (the Kielce Test Track). In all environments, the tests were performed for the same group of drivers. The article presents the characteristics of research in each environment as well as shows and compares exemplary results.
Czas reakcji jest jednym z podstawowych parametrów charakteryzujących kierowcę, bardzo istotnym w analizach sytuacji wypadkowych w ruchu drogowym. W pracy opisano badania dotyczące oceny czasu reakcji, przeprowadzone w trzech środowiskach: na typowym urządzeniu stosowanym w pracowniach psychologii transportu (tzw. refleksometrze), w symulatorze jazdy samochodem (autoPW) oraz na torze samochodowym (Tor Kielce). We wszystkich środowiskach testy przeprowadzono dla tej samej grupy kierowców. W artykule przedstawiono charakterystykę badań w każdym środowisku oraz pokazano i porównano przykładowe wyniki.

The paper discusses the results of the studies on the surface properties and lubricating abilities of five ionic liquids compared to a high quality gear oil: Mobilube 1SHC 75W90 and two base oils: PAO-6 and SN-650. The investigated ionic liquids were: 1) tetrafluoroborate 1- benzyl-3-methylmidazolium, 2) bis (trifluoromethylsulfonyl) imide 3-methyl-1- propylpyridinium, 3) bis (trifluoromethylsulfonyl) imide 1,2-dimethyl-3-propylimidazolium, 4) bis (trifluoromethylsulfonyl) imide trihexyltetradecylphosphonium), 5) tetrafluoroborate trihexyltetradecylphosphonium. The density, surface tension and wetting angle as well as dynamic and kinematic viscosity were measured. Next, the lubricity properties were evaluated using the four-ball tester. The research results showed the more better lubricity properties of ionic liquids than the base oils. The research results showed the more better lubricity properties of ionic liquids than the base oils. The ionic liquids had the comparable properties to a high quality gear oil. Obtained results of these preliminary studies confirmed a possibility of using selected ionic liquids as new lubricants. These compounds can probably replace the lubricants used so far and find a wide scope of application in lubrication technology in the future. However, particular implementations require further complex studies.

In the paper the investigative results of lubricity and surface properties for four synthetic perfluoropolyether (PFPE) oils, comparing with the high quality gear oil Mobilube 1SHC 75W-90 and two base oils PAO-6 and SN-650, are discussed. The goal of the research was to identify anti-wear and anti-seizing properties of PFPE oils correlation with their surface-energetic and viscosity-temperature properties. Modern test equipment was used for perfomed research. The following apparatuses were used: KSV Sigma 701 and KSV CAM 100 made in Finland, AMVn Anton Paar made in Austria, and T-02 four-ball apparatus made in Poland. Measurement of density, surface tension and wetting angle were done with the use of KSV Sigma 701 apparatus, according to its instruction manual. The static wetting angle on the real surface of a steel plate was determined with the use of KSV CAM 100 apparatus. The dynamic viscosity of the tested compounds was determined with the use of AMVn microviscometer. The tests of the lubricity properties of the synthetic oils and comparative liquids were perfomed with the use T-02 four-ball tester. The investigative results showed that PFPE oils can be used particularly in hydrodynamic and elastohydrodynamic lubrication.
