Opis:
The aim of the study is to examine the effectiveness of applying GMDH-type neural network and the developed procedure for predicting UTC(k) timescales, which are characterized with high dynamics of changes of the input data. The research is carried out on the example of the Lithuanian Timescale UTC(LT). The obtained research results have shown that GMDH-type neural network with a developed predicting procedure enables us to receive good prediction results for the UTC(LT). Better prediction quality was obtained using time series which are built only on the basis of deviations determined by the BIPM according to the UTC and UTC Rapid scales.

Opis:
The article presents results of the influence of the GMDH (Group Method of Data Handling) neural network input data preparation method on the results of predicting corrections for the Polish timescale UTC(PL). Prediction of corrections was carried out using two methods, time series analysis and regression. As appropriate to these methods, the input data was prepared based on two time series, ts1 and ts2. The implemented research concerned the designation of the prediction errors on certain days of the forecast and the influence of the quantity of data on the prediction error. The obtained results indicate that in the case of the GMDH neural network the best quality of forecasting for UTC(PL) can be obtained using the time-series analysis method. The prediction errors obtained did not exceed the value of š 8 ns, which confirms the possibility of maintaining the Polish timescale at a high level of compliance with the UTC.

Opis:
In this paper, the effectiveness of using Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) for predicting the corrections of the Polish time scale UTC(PL) (Universal Coordinated Time) is presented. In particular, prediction results for the different types of neural networks, i.e., the MLP (MultiLayer Perceprton), the RBF (Radial Basis Function) and the GMDH (Group Method of Data Handling) are shown. The main advantages and disadvantages of using such types of neural networks are discussed. The prediction of corrections is performed using two methods: the time series analysis method and the regression method. The input data were prepared suitable for the above mentioned methods, based on two time series, ts1 and ts2. The designation of prediction errors for specified days and the influence of data quantity for the prediction error are considered. The paper consists of five sections. After Introduction, in Sec. 2, the theoretical background for different types of neural networks is presented. Section 3 shows data preparation for the appropriate type of neural network. The experimental results are presented in Sec. 4. Finally, Sec. 5 concludes the paper.

Opis:
This article presents the experience from the first stage of the optimization tests of an automatic machine for breaking oversized lumps. The tests took place between December 2017 and March 2018 at the O/ZG Polkowice-Sieroszowice mine. The URB/ZS-3 automatic machine was developed as part of the second competition of a joint venture financed by NCBR and KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. under the name of CuBR. The adopted methodology of carrying out the operational tests of the URB/ZS-3 machine was discussed, which had to take into account the specific requirements and operating conditions of the mining department in the Polkowice-Sieroszowice mine. The reference point for evaluating the effectiveness of the new solution was the cleaning times of the grate by a machine working in remote mode. The results of clearing the grate of excavated materials by a machine working in automatic mode were presented for various algorithms and scenarios included in the control software. The influence of the degree of ore fragmentation (including the number of oversized lumps) on the time of the grate cleaning was taken into account. The influence of the changes introduced in this software on the obtained grate discharge times was initially evaluated. The article also presents the impact of loading the grate with the use of loaders and haul trucks on the effectiveness of the automatic machine for breaking oversized lumps. Also, the driver elements of the machine were assessed in terms of their reliability, and the directions for possible structural changes were proposed. In conclusion, the directions for further activities aimed at optimizing the machine and increasing its efficiency and reliability were proposed.

Opis:
A mixed state in dc-biased thin films of II-type superconductors realizes the Abrikosov magnetic vortices/antivortices, which are the result of the current-self magnetic field penetration into the film at temperatures lower than its critical temperature $T_{c}$. A nucleation of vortices/antivortices at the superconducting film's edges, their motion perpendicular to the direction of biasing current, and the annihilation in the film's center originates from a current dissipation in the superconductor and expresses itself in experiments as a dc voltage. This work reports on the results of simulation of current density in a 50 μm wide, 100 μm long, and 0.3 μm thick $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7 - x}$ microbridges containing Π-shaped 5 μm wide single channel of easy vortex motion fabricated by means of laser-writing technique. Analyzing a two-dimensional-net of resistors and assuming that, due to the Meissner-Ochsenfeld effect, the magnetic flux penetration into superconducting film is nonlinear, we demonstrate that presence of a Π-shaped channel causes a non-homogeneous distribution of current in the microbridge.

Opis:
A current-self-induced magnetic field $H_{j}$, such that $H_{c1} < H_{j} < H_{c2}$ at $T < T_{c}$, penetrates a thin-film, type-II superconductor forming the Abrikosov magnetic vortex-antivortex pairs in the film's areas of weakest superconductivity. Our atomic force microscopy and scanning tunneling microscopy images confirm that in 50 μm wide, 100 μm long and 0.3 μm thick $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7 - x}$ superconducting devices magnetic flux penetrates first into a 5 μm wide, Π-shaped and partially deoxygenated (x ≈ 0.2) channel for easy vortex motion. When the Lorentz force overcomes pinning force in the channel, the flux starts to move and its drift dissipates energy inducing dc voltage. This work reports on the density of coherently moving vortices along the channel vs. temperature in range from $0.93T_{c}$ to $0.97T_{c}$. Our simulations show that the vortex density vs. temperature dependence extracted from I-V measurements of our devices follows the temperature dependence of magnetic field penetration depth and the coherence length of the superconductor.
