The paper presents the methodology prepared by the author. During the process of acquiring new vehicles for the armed forces, time is of the essence in practice of conducting a wide range of structure changes in previously implemented undercarriages. It has to be pointed out that with a high individuality and the very nature of the units, difficulties in scope of comprehensive testing with regard to matters of transport safety. What is more, two determinants are essential in the process of acquiring equipment - time and cost. The process does not allow for improvement and perfecting of the structure, and the research in scope of wheel vehicle movement safety may be limited. The procedure of implementation and verification of equipment stresses the structure optimization as early as on the designing and prototype preparation stages. The procedure of acquiring new wheel vehicles for the military is one of the main premises for preparing the methodology with use of simulation research. Conducting research on the basis of the prepared methodology allows for avoiding possible traffic risks. The methodology enables an effective support for the current process of wheel vehicle acquisition for the armed forces. In this work the research procedure consisting of the necessary range of prepared, experimentally verified models, accepted by the methodology, have been verified. In order to do that two simulation models have been built, both of various levels of complexity.

Opis:
This paper provides characteristics of the evacuation and technical rescue heavy vehicles. Heavy tactical evacuation and technical rescue vehicles are built on the chassis of tactical vehicles with high loading capacity, generally with8x8 driving system. In each analysed case, the vehicles are one of the family members of the tactical heavy-duty vehicles. Evacuation equipment of such vehicles is as follows: main winch, arm or towing device, and lifting equipment. A domestically manufactured vehicle, developed under the project No. 356/BO/1, was presented. The testing process that such type of vehicles, including the above mentioned, are subject to have been discussed herein. Revision of parameters received and as specified in the requirements and relevant standards enforces an adequate scope of testing. In the case of the MAMUT vehicle, the following requirements have been checked: structural design, engine, driving system, cab, main winch, auxiliary winch, winch for self-recovery, hydraulic crane, hydraulic hoisting and towing equipment, power generator, electrical system, safety, ergonomics and technical aesthetics, specialist equipment, secret camouflage, and transportability.

The paper presents main causes of threats posed on articulated vehicles traffic safety and the methods for their prevention. Based on the motoric properties evaluation method, the capabilities of military articulated vehicles as of 2010 were examined in that respect. Articulated vehicles, which include truck-tractor and semi-trailer, are used for carriage of the so-called combat technology in the armed forces. Problems related to transportation of military equipment have inter alia been presented in papers [1, 2]. They result primarily from the significant linear dimensions and large weights, which are characteristic for the articulated vehicle of truck-tractor and semi-trailer. Other, additional problems affecting the safety of traffic are related to the type of cargo and its fixing mode [3]. In the case of articulated military vehicles, in most cases, wheeled or tracked vehicles are transported, that is a very specific cargo, difficult to be fixed to the flatbeds of the semi-trailers. All these vehicles should have their load floor located as low as possible because the floor placed too high may cause that the total height of the vehicle and the load carried will interfere with the road infrastructure (tunnels, overpasses, electric traction over the roadway, etc.), and the highly located centre of mass negatively affects the stability of motion [3].

Experimental research studies of vehicles are of high cognitive importance. However, they are expensive, time-consuming and sometimes dangerous, especially when they refer to edge safety parameters of a vehicle motion. Their scope can be limited if researchers conducting the studies have at their disposal a mathematical model of the vehicle motion and dynamics and a simulation program allowing for carrying out research in "virtual space." A start-up of the simulation process requires gathering a relevant and require amount of data. If the simulation research studies that have been conducted are used for experimental verification, it is essential to obtain them to carry out a "package" of a series of experiments and a detailed design documentation analysis. Such a proceeding has been conducted with reference to research and development project of Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MNiSzW) No. R0000901 entitled "Determination of an impact that selected design and maintenance parameters of patrol-intervention vehicle have on values of boundary parameters of steerability and steadiness of the vehicle". As part of its implementation, a model has inter alia been constructed using a multi-body-system class of software. The model has also gone through its experimental verification process basing on a test of a double change of traffic lane recommended by ISO standards.
Badania eksperymentalne pojazdów mają bardzo duże znaczenie poznawcze. Są jednak drogie, czasochłonne i niekiedy niebezpieczne, szczególnie jeśli dotyczą granicznych parametrów bezpieczeństwa ruchu pojazdu. Ich zakres może być ograniczony, jeżeli prowadzący badania dysponuje modelem matematycznym ruchu i dynamiki pojazdu oraz programem symulacyjnym umożliwiającym prowadzenie badań w "przestrzeni wirtualnej". Uruchomienie procesu symulacji wymaga zgromadzenia odpowiednie, wymaganej ilości danych. Jeśli prowadzone badania symulacyjne będą wykorzystywane do weryfikacji eksperymentalnej, do ich pozyskania niezbędne jest przeprowadzenie "pakietu" szeregu eksperymentów oraz szczegółowej analizy dokumentacji konstrukcyjnej. Takie postępowanie zostało przeprowadzono w związku z projektem badawczo-rozwojowemu MNiSzW nr R0000901 pod tytułem "Określenie wpływu wybranych parametrów konstrukcyjnych i eksploatacyjnych samochodu patrolowo-interwencyjnego na wartości parametrów granicznych kierowalności i stateczności tego pojazdu". W ramach jego realizacji zbudowano, między innymi, model z wykorzystaniem oprogramowania klasy multi body system. Model tez został poddany procesowi weryfikacji eksperymentalnej bazując na teście podwójnej zmiany pasa ruchu zalecanym przez unormowania ISO.

Development of the 8-wheeled military vehicle computer model allows for motion simulation in various terrain conditions, as well as it serves assessment of selected dynamic parameters at specified extortions. Out of a number of the currently available professional software programs for dynamic and kinematic analysis of multi body systems, such as e.g.: DADS, ADAMS, SIMPACK, MEDYNA or NEWEUL, the DADS program has been used for modelling the wheeled vehicle. In the first phase, the model data (inter alia position of the main and local coordinate systems, geometrical dimensions, inertial and weight parameters, and also damping and elastic characteristics) is entered and presented in a form of a group of elements using the graphic interface DADS Model. As the next step, the system of differential equations that describe motion of the model is generated, using the second type of Lagrange equation. Then, position, velocity and accelerations of individual elements of the system are determined as well as their mutual interaction (forces, moments). The modelling results may be presented in a form of time processes of selected quantities, or by using computer animation illustrating behaviour of the entire system from any point of view. Such a proceeding has been conducted with reference to research and development project of Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MNiSzW) No. R0000502. As part of its implementation, a model has inter alia been constructed using a multi-body-system class of software. The model has also gone through its experimental verification process basing on a test of a double change of traffic lane recommended by ISO standards.

The paper shall present results of simulation research studies performed using a simulation model of a vehicle in which ABS and EBS system were taken into consideration as well as hydropneumatic suspension. A decision was made to conduct the simulation studies following three tests: circumferential fixed motion; emergency braking in curvilinear motion; stepping extortion on the steering wheel. As a result of performed simulation studies, more than 30 physical quantities were recorded describing the curvilinear motion of the AFV vehicle. The following were selected for presentation in listings: motion trajectory; progress of the value of lateral and side acceleration of the vehicle centre of inertia; progress of circumferential velocity values of driving wheels (essential at braking); progress of the vehicle velocity values recorded in the vehicle's centre of inertia and in places corresponding to positions of driving wheels; and progress of the values of vertical reaction forces under the driving wheels. Catalogue of the parameters being changed for the simulation is looked up to real objects and trends occurring in the changes being introduced. Paper presents progress of the value ofverticalforce in different conditions and vehicle motion trajectory. It also shows general diagram of hydropneumatic suspension system in view of the vehicle and diagram of hydropneumatic suspension system.

The paper shall present the way for building a model for simulation studies of the wheeled armoured fighting vehicle with hydropneumatic suspension of driving wheels axles. Thus developed model shall be used to conduct simulation studies in the area of the vehicle safety. The scope of terms and conditions for applications of hydropneumatic suspensions in wheeled armoured fighting vehicles is justifled due to a number of their advantages, such as: progressive characteristics of elasticity provides great driving comfort with a small load, as well as apossibility of placing a considerable load on the vehicle (the requirements are mutually exclusive in classical suspension). Compressed nitrogen, sealed in the sphere using an elastic diaphragm, is approximately six-fold more flexible than steel springs elements at static load of the suspension, which provides high level of driving comfort; apossibility to lower the height of the vehicle by changing the road clearance which effects in e.g. higher availability for airborne transport and soon. However, they are not free from disadvantages; therefore, it is the studies of their justified use, especially related to traffic safety, that should have a final say in individual cases. The here to presented model of hydropneumatic suspension and the vehicle motion model are applied to assess dynamic capabilities and evaluate the real object motion safety.

Opis:
Research results of armored car tire (255/100R16), equipped with run-flat insert, in aspect of radial flexibility, are presented in this paper. The tire characteristics of radial flexibility, prepared basing on laboratory research results are shown. These characteristics were determined in wide rage of air inflation pressure changes, also with no air pressure inside the tire. There is shown a participation of run-flat insert in all the tire normal load transmitting from road surface to wheel axis. Basing on tire characteristics of radial flexibility, coefficients of polynomial, approximating these characteristics were calculated. Results of research and calculations allow to use them directly in model of tire-road interaction in radial direction. The armored car tire with "run-flat" insert, the comparison of 255/100R16 tire flexibility characteristics, determined in wide rage of inflation pressure changes, the examples of polynomial approximation of tire flexibility characteristics for three different flexibility characteristics are presented in the paper.
W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań opony o rozmiarze 255/100R16, wyposażonej we wkładkę typu "run-flat", w aspekcie sprężystości promieniowej. Przedstawiono charakterystyki sprężystości promieniowej opony. Charakterystyki wyznaczono w szerokim zakresie zmian ciśnienia powietrza w kole, od ciśnienia zalecanego podczas jazdy na drogach utwardzonych do ciśnienia o obniżonych wartościach, zalecanego podczas jazdy w warunkach terenowych. Pomiary wykonano również przy braku powietrza w kole, co odpowiada sytuacji przestrzelenia opony, a jednocześnie umożliwia udział wkładki "run-flat" w przenoszeniu obciążenia normalnego przez koło. Na podstawie wyznaczonych charakterystyk sprężystości promieniowej opony wyznaczono współczynniki wielomianów umożliwiających odwzorowanie charakterystyk sprężystości promieniowej przy różnych wartościach ciśnienia powietrza w kole włącznie z udziałem wkładki "run-flat". W artykule w szczególności zaprezentowano oponę samochodu opancerzonego z wkładką typu "run-flat", charakterystyki sprężystości promieniowej opony 255/100R16 wyznaczonych w szerokim zakresie zmian wartości ciśnienia powietrza w kole, aproksymacje charakterystyk sprężystości promieniowej opony w odniesieniu do trzech różnych wartości ciśnienia.

Developed simulation model of vehicle became to a considerable degree parameterized, this means that it allows to change of the values of the defined parameter in the options ..Parameters" - in the main model window. As a result of performed initial simulations computer basing on the above simplifying results assumptions, that model reflects real object in the certain range, however requires a further development looking for a fuller model verification in aspect of the particular values obtained in real measurements, that will be continued in the later stages of work. Additionally, for the purpose of the presentation of the work first stage results to ,,the media", computer visualization of the vehicle movement was made in the form of *.avi files.

Jeśli prowadzone badania symulacyjne będą wykorzystywane do weryfikacji eksperymentalnej, do ich pozyskania niezbędne jest przeprowadzenie „pakietu" szeregu eksperymentów oraz szczegółowej analizy dokumentacji konstrukcyjnej. Takie postępowanie zostało przeprowadzono w związku z projektem badawczo-rozwojowemu MNiSzW nr R0000502. W ramach jego realizacji zbudowano, między innymi, model z wykorzystaniem oprogramowania klasy multi body system. Model tez został poddany procesowi weryfikacji eksperymentalnej bazując na teście podwójnej zmiany pasa ruchu zalecanym przez unormowania ISO. Opracowany model symulacyjny pojazdu został w znacznym stopniu sparametryzowany, to znaczy umożliwia zmianę wartości określonego parametru w opcjach „Parameters" - w oknie głównym modelu. W wyniku przeprowadzonych wstępnych symulacji komputerowych bazujących na ww. założeniach upraszczających wynika, iż model odzwierciedla w pewnym zakresie obiekt rzeczywisty, nie mniej jednak wymaga dalszego dopracowania pod kątem pełniejszej weryfikacji w aspekcie uzyskanych podczas pomiarów określonych wartości, co będzie kontynuowane w dalszych etapach pracy. Dodatkowo, w celu „medialnej" prezentacji wyników I etapu, dokonano komputerowej wizualizacji ruchu pojazdu w postaci plików *.avi.

The article presents the results of comparative tests of the experimental designs of the braking system of high mobility vehicles. Braking systems determine the safety of vehicles. Higher mobility requirements should not remain without an effect on adapting the braking system to the use conditions. Article developed within the scope of execution of the NCBiR project DOBR-BIO4/021/13355/2013. The mileage tests lead to a thorough evaluation of the various systems of the vehicle. In order to carry out the mileage test correctly, the vehicle has to be exposed to the most difficult conditions to which it is adapted to, according to the preliminary assumptions. In the case of military vehicles, the most difficult terrain is the training ground terrain with frequent bumps, uphill’s, downhill’s and water hazards, etc. The vehicle has to be operated at the maximum use of all its components (inter-wheel and inter-axle locks etc.). Only the vehicle that has been properly tested, and meets all the assumptions for a given object can be considered safe.
