This paper proposes fuzzy-based positioning algorithms for an iRobot B21r mobile robot, which is equipped with a 180° scanning laser rangefinder and other sensors, in an indoor environment. A novel, dynamic error model for the laser rangefinder is built with consideration of the detection distance and the detection angle. A new concept, the virtual angular point, is introduced in this paper as one of the features for positioning a mobile robot. To position a mobile robot, three kinds of feature points, such as break points, real angular points, and virtual angular points, are employed in this paper. Based on fuzzy evaluation for the accuracy of each feature point, positions obtained by two arbitrary points are fused together by the weighted mean technique, in which weight is determined by the uncertainty represented by fuzzy numbers. Experimental study has been carried out to verify the effectiveness and the accuracy of the algorithms.

In order to monitor and correct the meteorological factors of the spring gravity meter, the characteristics of the time varying gravity changes caused by meteorological factors were analyzed. Kunming GS15 gravity meter from 2007 continuous gravity observation has been carried out with the sampling rate of the pressure observation. In this study, we first compare the effects of 4 types of gravity meter and 3 different types of stations on the gravity observed seasonal gravity signals. It is indicated that the observed seasonal gravity signal of the cave is only 1/10, and there is a constant temperature and constant pressure device. Compared with the same time, the gravity signal of the gravity signal is about 100 times smaller. The influence of the pressure load of the gravity meter is tested by using the theory of pressure. The results show that only the actual value of 2cpd - 3cpd pressure load varies from -0.395 to -0.280×10-8ms-2 , and the 1cpd to 1 cpm periodic partial type gravity meter is also in accordance with the law of gravity and air pressure. And with the characteristics of time lag. In this paper, the nonlinear zero drift parameters of the linear regression model with time lag and the time series of the GS15 gravity meter are used to simulate the nonlinear zero drift parameters of the gravity meter. The results show that the gravity signal contains time lag 35 hours, and the air pressure admittance is 0.8 × 10-8ms-2/mbar. The correlation can reach 79%. The gravity changes signal and satellite gravity as well as the gravity water load signal of the land water model are the same as the gravity water load signal in the autumn as the minimum value, and the seasonal variation of the maximum value of gravity in summer.

In this paper, polarization dependence of patterning effects in quantum well semiconductor optical amplifier-based wavelength conversion is experimentally and theoretically investigated. The carrier and photon density rate equations are numerically solved by using the time-domain traveling wave model. The material gain calculation, including the strain effect in the active layer, is based on the k·p method. By comparing experimental and computational results, it is demonstrated that the polarization of the injection signal has a significant influence on the gain recovery time of quantum well semiconductor optical amplifier. Under the cross-polarized signals injection, the output signals suffer the weakest and strongest patterning effects both for unstrained and tensile strained quantum well semiconductor optical amplifiers.

Abstract A hydrodynamics + hadronic rescattering model is used to simulate Au+Au collisions at 200 GeV and a Cooper-Frye method is adopted for hadronization. The effect of hadronic rescattering on elliptic flow V2 in 20 40% Au+Au collisions at 200 GeV has been investigated. It is found that the hadronic rescattering can suppress elliptic flow V2 and makes an asymmetric system in momentum space tend to be less anisotropic. The suppression effect becomes weak with increasing transverse momentum. In addition, the effect of hadronic rescattering on transverse momentum spectra and anisotropy of hadronic coordinate space is presented.

Stowage planning is the core of ship planning. It directly influences the seaworthiness of container ship and the handling efficiency of container terminal. As the latter step of container ship stowage plan, terminal stowage planning optimizes terminal cost according to pre-plan. Group-Bay stowage planning is the smallest sub problem of terminal stowage planning problem. A group-bay stowage planning model is formulated to minimize relocation, crane movement and target weight gap satisfying both ship owner and container terminal. A GA-A* hybrid algorithm is designed to solve this problem. Numerical experiment shown the validity and the efficiency.

Opis:
This article proposes a method of locating and recognizing lockholes in shipping container corner castings. This method converts the original image of the containers captured by a camera into the HSV (Hue, Saturation, Value) color space. To reduce the influence of the surface color of the containers and lights from the environment on the locating and recognizing algorithm, most noisy points of the image are filtered by binarization and a morphology opening operation to make the features of the containers clearer in the image. Thus, the container body can be separated from the total image. Then, the position and size of the corner castings are defined through calculation based on the international standard of the shipping container size. Lastly, by using this method, we can locate the corner casting in the image by using the General Hough Transform fitting algorithm onto ellipses.

In this research, the high arsenic content dust of copper smelting, as a raw material, the extraction of copper and arsenic from the high arsenic content dust in the leaching system containing acidic and alkaline compounds was investigated. Meanwhile, the effects of acid/alkaline initial concentration, liquid to solid ratio, leaching temperature, leaching time on the leaching rate of copper and arsenic were studied. The optimum conditions for the leaching of high arsenic content dust and preparation of copper arsenate were determined. The results showed that acidic/alkaline leaching of high arsenic content dust was particularly effective. 93.2% of the copper, and 91.6% of the arsenic were leached in an acidic leaching process and 95% of the arsenic, while less than 3% of the copper, less than 5% of the antimony, less than 2% of the bismuth was also leached in an alkaline leaching process. A new method (the parallel flow drop precipitate method) was developed in the synthesis of copper arsenate process. The parallel flow drop method was employed to adjust the molar ratio (copper to arsenic) of the mixed solution of the acid-leaching solution and the alkali-leaching solution by taking the drop acceleration of an acidic leaching solution and an alkaline leaching solution at 10 mL/min and 12 mL/min, at a temperature of 60°C and a reaction time of 1h. Copper arsenate was prepared by mixing an acidic leaching solution and an alkaline leaching solution. The main phases of copper arsenate were CuHAsO4·1.5H2O and Cu5As4O15·9H2O. Copper arsenate contained 30.13% copper and 31.10% arsenic.

Recent developments in Taiwan toward the technology intensive country, the employment of cost effective foreign labors by shipping companies, the widespread of universities and the internationalization of shipping industries propose considerable threats on the quality assurance of maritime education. A resultant crisis for lacking on-board seafarers with managerial levels has urged the consolidation of governmental, private and educational organizations in the attempts to further improve the quality of maritime education and to promote the on-board career incentives. The process from the formulation of problems to the implementation of strategies undertaken by the National Kaohsiung Marine University (NKMU) is reviewed. A chain reaction initiated from the degradation of students’ entry performances due to the widespread of universities has formed a viscous cycle leading to the outsourcing of foreign human resources by shipping industry. Strategies in the aspects of course reform, joint ventures of lectureship with shipping industry, pre-courses for students’ extended career plans and the establishment of educational center that consolidates the departments of navigation, marine engineering and fishery in NKMU are illustrated.

An average maintenance time calculation method based on components failure correlation analysis is proposed to revise the traditional system maintenance time. This paper focus on complex system type II fault correlation, using the Decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory / Interpretative structural model method to divide the fault level of components. And the copula connection function is introduced to calculation of failure rate function of failure correlation components. In addition, the system maintenance time model is established by synthesizing the failure rate function of each unit of the system. Moreover, the average maintenance time under the minimum number of failures is determined. This method shows that the minimum average maintenance time of the proposed system is more reasonable than the traditional one and provides the basis for system and component reliability design.
W artykule zaproponowano metodę obliczania średniego czasu konserwacji, opartą na analizie korelacji uszkodzeń elementów składowych systemu. Metoda ta ma na celu rewizję tradycyjnego czasu konserwacji systemu. Głównym tematem pracy jest korelacja awarii typu II występujących w systemach złożonych. Elementy systemu podzielono ze względu na poziom uszkodzenia przy użyciu metody DEMATEL w połączeniu z interpretacyjnym modelowaniem strukturalnym. Funkcję intensywności skorelowanych uszkodzeń elementów systemu obliczono za pomocą funkcji łączącej (kopuły). Dodatkowo, opracowano model czasu konserwacji systemu poprzez syntezę funkcji intensywności uszkodzeń każdej jednostki systemu. Ponadto, określono średni czas konserwacji dla minimalnej liczby uszkodzeń. Metoda ta pokazuje, że minimalny średni czas konserwacji proponowanego systemu jest korzystniejszy niż tradycyjnie przyjęty i stanowi podstawę do projektowania niezawodności systemu i jego składowych.

Oscillations of photoluminescence properties in external magnetic fields are investigated in CdTe modulation doped quantum wells. The oscillatory behaviour of the luminescence intensity, the line width and the g factor is due to many-body effects in the 2-dimensional electron gas. The oscillation of photoluminescence intensity can be easily used as optically detected Shubnikov de Haas effect to determine the electron concentration in quantum wells without contacts.

Opis:
The solid solution crystals, $Bi_{4}(Ge_{x}Si_{1-x})_{3}O_{12}$ (BGSO) with x=0, 0.05, and 0.15, have been grown by the modified vertical Bridgman method. The as-grown crystals show 80% of transmittance with an absorption edge of 285 nm. The relative light yields of BGSO crystals are found to be 7.2%, 6.3%, and 4.2% of CsI(Tl) crystal for x=0, 0.05, and 0.15, respectively. The energy resolutions of these crystals are 18.9%, 21.3%, and 24.7%, respectively, with PMT for 662 keV gamma rays at room temperature when exposed to $\text{}^{137}Cs$ γ -ray. The scintillation performance of BGSO crystals clearly deteriorates with the increase of Ge content. However, the appropriate number of germanium ions doped to BSO crystal can improve its crystallization behavior and effectively restrain component segregation. It is expected that large size crystals of BGSO will be grown and applied to the dual readout calorimeter in the nearest future.

This paper studies the tracking and almost disturbance decoupling problem of nonlinear systems with uncertainties, based on the feedback linearization approach. The main contribution of this study is to construct a controller, under appropriate conditions, such that the resulting closed-loop system is valid for any initial condition and bounded tracking signal with the following characteristics: input-to-state stability with respect to disturbance inputs and almost disturbance decoupling, i.e., the influence of disturbances on the L2 norm of the output tracking error can be arbitrarily attenuated by changing some adjustable parameters. Two examples, which cannot be solved by the first paper on the almost disturbance decoupling problem, are proposed in this paper to exploit the fact that the tracking and the almost disturbance decoupling performances are easily achieved by the proposed approach. In order to demonstrate the practical applicability, the paper has investigated the AMIRA ball and beam system.

Opis:
Wenjiang (China) is the area which undertakes high-intensity planting activities. Additionally, the soil environmental capacity has been a hot area of research as it plays a key role in environmental protection planning, environmental impact assessment and sustainable development. In this paper, the static model of soil environmental capacity is employed to investigate the distribution of residual soil environmental capacity in Wenjiang. The results show that the soil environmental capacity of mercury is the largest for industrial land while it is the lowest in garlic-rice planting areas; the soil environmental capacity of arsenic is the largest in city construction land while it is the lowest in ecological conservation zone; the soil environmental capacity of lead is the largest in city construction land while it is the lowest in garlic-rice planting areas; and the soil environmental capacity of chromium is the largest in city construction land while it is the lowest in garlic-rice planting areas.
