    On the one hand, the contemporary world is a place of sheer abundance; on the other, it is a place where the poverty is widespread, people’s needs are unsatisfied, and the natural and socioeconomic systems remain unstable. The negligence/absence of human rights and basic political needs pose a direct threat to development. One of the most effective answers to such a threat is the idea of sustainable development, which works towards the goal of satisfying the needs of present generations without depriving the future generations of their options and basic needs. Amartya Sen’s concept of development, understood as a process of extending basic civil rights and freedoms as well as improving the effectiveness of social security networks is crucial for intellectual reflection on the idea of sustainable development.

    The aim of the article is to present tensions that occur in social, cultural, political, and technological spheres as a result of the development of postmodern societies. The changes that have been taking place in those areas involve, along with unquestionable benefits, a type of risk which, without any moral reflection, can cause a serious global crisis. The postmodern times should be understood as a continuation of the modern formation where all typical features of modernism take a more radical form. The postmodern specific style of life is characterised by uncertainty, the unpredictability of the future, as well as a decline of traditional values and morals. Moreover, the present postmodern tendencies in the area of morals can hinder the right course of development of society, economy and ecology.

    The idea of sustainable development as a normative concept emphasizes the necessity for a wider consensus on meeting human needs, ensuring social equity, and respecting planetary boundaries. The purpose of the article focuses on the deontological orientation in perceiving sustainable development. It is expected that looking at sustainability from the deontological perspective might increase individuals’ awareness of responsibility towards respecting the needs of the world’s poor, environmental boundaries, and moral equity, which emphasizes that all people are equal. Any attempt to achieve sustainability demands, first of all, rational action placed on moral duties/obligations before individual people or institutions can achieve their particular desires and goals. According to this perspective, sustainability should be treated as a prior constraint in obtaining economic maximization.

    Opis:
    The authors aimed to define the role of deontology in the implementation of sustainable development (SD) and show how consumers guided by the ethics of duty can become the initiator of common changes for SD. The article was prepared on the basis of qualitative research, and emphasizes that the concept of SD is strongly axiologically conditioned, and deontology plays a unique implementation role. The internalization of SD moral values is the key condition for the realization of sustainability both at macroeconomic and microeconomic level, i.e. enterprise management and consumer decisions. The authors indicate that in the market economy, in the era of globalization, the initiators of universal and evolutionary changes for SD may be consumers guided by the ethics of duty and supporting the sustainable consumerism movement. The article describes the main activities of the sustainable consumerism movement and the barriers slowing down its development.
    Celem artykułu jest określenie roli deontologii w realizacji zrównoważonego rozwoju (ZR) oraz pokazanie, w jaki sposób konsumenci kierujący się etyką obowiązku mogą stać się inicjatorem powszechnych zmian na rzecz ZR. Artykuł został opracowany na podstawie badań jakościowych. Podkreślono w nim, że koncepcja ZR jest silnie uwarunkowana aksjologicznie, a szczególną rolę implementacyjną odgrywa deontologia. Internalizacja wartości moralnych ZR jest kluczowym warunkiem realizacji ZR na poziomie zarówno makroekonomicznym, jak i mikroekonomicznym, czyli zarządzania przedsiębiorstwem i decyzji konsumenckich. Autorzy artykułu wskazują, że w gospodarce rynkowej, w dobie globalizacji, inicjatorami powszechnych i ewolucyjnych zmian na rzecz ZR mogą stać się konsumenci, kierujący się etyką obowiązku i wspierający ruch zrównoważonego konsumeryzmu. W artykule scharakteryzowano główne działania ruchu zrównoważonego konsumeryzmu oraz bariery spowalniające rozwój tego ruchu.

    Purpose: The paper aims to assess difficulties in ensuring justice in temporary teams. Three research questions were asked: do managers think that ensuring justice in temporary teams is difficult?; which determinants of a sense of justice in temporary teams do managers consider the most difficult/easiest?; is the degree of difficulty associated with ensuring each of the four types of justice in the work of the temporary team the same? Design/methodology/approach: The survey was carried out in June and July of 2021. The non-parametric Mann-Whitney U test was used to assess the statistical significance of differences in the difficulty level in ensuring justice in temporary teams. Findings: Managers ranked distributive justice as the most difficult to provide, followed by procedural justice, informational justice and interpersonal justice, respectively. Respondents ranked 4 factors as the most difficult to provide: the information needed for the work of the temporary team is provided just in time; each member of the temporary team is appreciated (tangibly and intangibly) according to their contribution to the team, the task team (as a whole) is appreciated, tangibly and intangibly, according to the effort put into the task and a temporary team leader will customize communication to suit the individual needs of members of the temporary team. Research limitations/implications: The first limitation is related to the research sample. Entities from a few selected industries were included. The second limitation is related to the fact that temporary teams differ, and sometimes these differences are significant. Another limitation is the composition of the research group. It included managers. In order to fully recognize the situation, it would be necessary to know the opinions of other employees. Practical implications: The results of the research may be helpful for managers in various types of organizations. They allow for a better understanding of temporary teams' regulations. In addition, they indicate those issues that should be given special attention in order to manage such teams reasonably. Originality/value: Although the topic of teamwork appears in academic publications, only a few relate justice in temporary work teams. This paper deals with this topic and focuses on difficulties with fair team management.
