Opis:
Human capital management in sustainable development conditions means, in everyday practice, taking care of the welfare of employees, understood, i.a., as a friendly atmosphere in a team, stable, and free from stress and conflicts. The author has analysed several cases of conflicts in employee teams connected with personnel movement in order to answer the following research questions: What are the characteristics of employee teams susceptible to the emergence or escalation of conflicts to levels destructive for the organisation, what types of interpersonal conflicts escalate in the analysed situations, which factors are a catalyst and which factors block conflict? Conclusions from the analysed cases allow the author to describe the main threats of destructive conflict and put forward recommendations for human capital management.

Opis:
Introduction. To our knowledge, no studies have checked the effect of the abdominal drawing-in maneuver (ADIM) on gait and stabilometric parameters in lower back pain (LBP) and pain-free subjects Aim. To assess the effect of sustained ADIM on a) gait pattern and b) stabilometric parameters with opened eyes and closed eyes in an adult population. Material and Methods. A group of 20 adults were invited to participate in the study. The Oswestry Disability Index was used for assessing LBP. Gait analysis was performed on a treadmill ZEBRIS FDM-T. The static balance assessment was performed on a stabilometric platform ZEBRIS FDM-S. Results. There were no significant differences in all tests conducted on the stabilometric platform. Results of gait analysis showed between-group differences in the main effect of group (Non-LBP vs. LBP) for the difference in maximal vertical ground reaction force during the terminal stance (GRFts). The mean GRFts value in the Non-LBP group was greater by 14.8 N (95% CI 9.55–20.1) compared with the LBP group (Table 3). Conclusions. ADIM has no immediate effects on selected stabilometric and gait parameters in the study group. No effect was seen in subjects with and without pain during the examination.

Opis:
The quality of body posture and its balance depends on the efficiency of the receptors, the good work of the central nervous system integrating and coordinating the postural system and the effective musculoskeletal system. Physical activity of people with intellectual disability can stimulate the processes of improving the posture and its postural stability, improving the quality of life. Methods: The study was conducted in 2017. 20 randomly selected volleyball players with intellectual disabilities and 10 healthy players took part in it. Body posture was recorded using a photogrammetric system. To evaluate the use of the Frohner Posture Index and the Dolphens classification, stability of the posture was assessed on the Zebris FDM power plate, analyzing the basic stabilographic parameters sway path and sway area. Results: Athletes with intellectual disabilities had significantly poorer posture and body balance than healthy players. There were no differences in postural stability between the groups studied. Some linear correlations were found between the quality of posture and balance and stabilographic variables. Conclusions: Incorrect postural patterns, observed in people with intellectual disabilities, require the development of special recovery programs. Qualified physical activity can help them improve their balance systems, reducing the risk of falls and injuries. The lack of the possibility of an unequivocal relationship between the quality of body posture and its stability requires research on a larger research material. New evaluation methods used (Frohner Posture index and Dolphens classification) confirmed their usefulness and gave new possibilities of application in postural research.

Opis:
In the last several weeks we have been witnessing the exponentially progressing pandemic SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. As the number of people infected with SARS-CoV2 escalates, the problem of surgical management of patients requiring urgent surgery is increasing. Patients infected with SARS-CoV2 virus but with negative test results will appear in general hospitals and may pose a risk to other patients and hospital staff. Health care workers constitutes nearly 17% of infected population in Poland, therefore early identification of infected people becomes a priority to protect human resources and to ensure continuity of the access to a surgical care. Both surgical operations, and endoscopic procedures are considered as interventions with an increased risk of infection. Therefore, determining the algorithm becomes crucial for qualifying patients for surgical treatment, but also to stratify the risk of personnel being infected during surgery and to adequately protect staff. Each hospital should be logistically prepared for the need to perform urgent surgery on a patient with suspected or confirmed infection, including personal protective equipment. Limited availability of the equipment, working under pressure and staff shortages in addition to a highly contagious pathogen necessitate a pragmatic management of human resources in health care. Instant synchronized action is needed, and clear uniform guidelines are essential for the healthcare system to provide citizens with the necessary surgical care while protecting both patients, and staff. This document presents current recommendations regarding surgery during the COVID-19 pandemic in Poland.
