An awareness of a growing importance of quality and reliability of products against competitive international markets tends to improve the quality of all of the processes that make up their activities and to generate products of an increasing quality and reliability [1]. This analysis of quality and reliability is systematic and independent of the action in the field of quality assurance and reliability of products carried out in order to check whether these activities and their results are consistent with planned ones and if they are effectively used to achieve the objectives [2]. The aim is to carry out an analysis of Audi engines malfunctions, to be specific A6 model, types C6 and C7. The essence is based on verification that the new generation 2011 model has boosted the reliability of assembled engines. This topic is of particular importance, because it raises the aspect of actual quality and durability of new engines during their three years of operation. The available literature has no signs of related examination. The analysis of the reliability consists of four major stages: 1) structural and functional analysis of objects 2) qualitative analysis of the problem, the aim of which is to identify all possible factors affecting the reliability of the object 3) quantitative analysis of issues, leading to the estimate of measurement reliability, 4) draw conclusions [7]. The study 20 used Audi A6 cars was to compare randomly selected 10 vehicles C6 generation coming out in 2004, and another 10 vehicles C7 generation presented in 2011. In order to carry out a separate analysis of malfunctions of engines, in each type the cars were chosen in such a way, that the 5 of them were equipped with spark-ignition engine and another 5 with compression-ignition engine. The data of these faults was read from service programs such as Autostacja and ElsaPro on the basis of submissions in an authorized Audi service in Wroclaw.

The use of direct injection in spark ignition engines significantly facilitated the use of chargers in these engines. This resulted lately in the significant popularization of direct injection engines, initially freely sucking and in final result turbocharged. The greatest popularity on the market gained engines of Volkswagen Company, named FSI and TFSI / TSI. Application of Common Rail systems allowed not only improving the characteristics of the engine by increasing the accuracy in dispensing fuel into individual cylinders. The most important gain is the possibility ofsecond injection of the fuel to the cylinder after the intake valve is closed. On the one hand it allows better control of the load in the cylinder, at first with the piston crown, and now with shaping the injection by the injector. On the other hand it allows creating a stratified mixture, at low load of the engine it reduces fuel consumption and work at high excess air ratios lambda Quickly it began to use the turbocharger in those engines due to the significant improvement in the operating characteristics of such engine. Profit from better filling of the combustion chamber can be used in different ways. On the one hand, you can replace engines naturally aspirated, with turbocharged with lower displacement, which leads to the improvement of the economics of such engine. On the other hand, after appropriate modifications to the design, you can add a charger to the naturally aspirated engine, retaining its capacity. Gains are then not only higher operating parameters, such as power and torque, but it also significantly improves the torque curve. It has big impact on the flexibility of the engine and the vehicle which is powered by it. Another gain is larger amount of work done by the engine.

The authors presents a new in - vitro way of diagnosis in automotive vehicle which depend on detection and measure of vibroacustic vibrations of the diesel engine. It seems that the Exhaust Gas Recirculation circuit that does not work properly shouldn't have an influence on vibrations generated by an engine. However, authors indicate that this statement is wrong. EGR system has an influence on engine's vibration, what was described in the article. On that way, detection of vibrations must be accomplished with high quality diagnostic systems. Therefore, vibrometric laser scanner Polytec had been used. To achieve full diagnostic results multidimensional vibration's function has been researched, where the torque moment has been used as an extra parameter. Measured vibrations were subjected to digital signal processing like windowing, fast Fourier transform, filtration by finite impulse response which also undergone to windowing . The results of measure and processing perform in form of 3D plots, which indulge in speed estimate of the usefulness of presented method. Moreover authors presents principle of working EGRs' systems of different generations, its evolution and history. A EGR is a popular system of recirculation of the automotive vehicle emission. The principle of working depends on the forcing in the part of outlet gas to the combustion chamber. Majority of the users of automotive vehicles with EGR systems claim that system has negative effect on the performance of the car. Nonetheless that opinion is subjective, because the generally available research on the subject doesn't exist. However, EGR system, as the most of automotive vehicle is being subjected to physic's rules - it uses up. The polluted flowing valve of circuit has an influence on stability of engine's work, and what follows on a performance of a car.
Autorzy prezentują nową metodę diagnostyczną (in-vitro), wykorzystywaną w diagnostyce pojazdów samochodowych, polegającą na detekcji i pomiarze wartości drgań o charakterze wibroakustycznym. Wydaje się, że niesprawność układu recyrkulacji spalin nie powinna mieć wpływu na drgania, generowane przez silnik spalinowy. Autorzy dowodzą, że twierdzenie taki jest błędne. W tym wypadku koniecznym jest wysokiej jakości układ diagnostyczny. Dlatego użyto głowicę laserową firmy Polytec. Na podstawie badań otrzymano wielowymiarową funkcję wibroakustyczną, w której dodatkową zmienną jest wartość momentu obrotowego. Zmierzone drgania zostały poddane operacją cyfrowego przetwarzania sygnałów, takich jak okienkowanie, FFT, filtracji z użyciem filtrów o skończonej odpowiedzi impulsowej, które zostały poddane dodatkowo operacją okienkowania. Rezultaty pomiarów i przetwarzania zostały zaprezentowane w postaci obrazowania 3D, które w wypadku tej metody diagnostycznej wydają się najlepsze. Ponadto autorzy prezentują rozwój układów EGR różnych generacji. Zasada pracy tego układu polega na wtłoczeniu do komory spalania części gazów wylotowych. Duża część użytkowników tego systemu twierdzi, że jego działanie ma negatywny wpływ na osiągi pojazdu. Nie można jednak stwierdzić czy twierdzenie to jest właściwe gdyż dotychczas brakuje badań prowadzonych w tym kierunku. Pomimo tego pewne jest, że zanieczyszczony zawór układu EGR na pewno będzie miał wpływ na osiągi pojazdu.

It is oblivious, various properties of fuels cause different thermal loads of engines. Question is, how big is this effect and what fuel compound and its property play insignificant part. This paper is focused on problem of quality of diesel commercial fuels in Polish market and it is a challenge to find answer for question mentioned above. The academic staff from Wroclaw University of Technology organized tests with different commercial fuels. Chemical and physical properties of these fuels were studied and used for investigation to define relationships between them and thermal load during simulation process. All researches were done in the lab of Division of Motor Vehicles and Internal Combustion Engines at the Wroclaw University of Technology. Tests have showed differences in chemical and physical properties of fuels, but there is no statistics effect on engine parameters. Results have not also pointed any important differences in thermal loads of engine VW1,9 TDI and its components according to different physical and chemical properties of tested fuels. It is probably because there are differences of calorific values from one side but from other hands various density and specific fuel consumption compensated these differences. To burn unit of fuel contains higher level of oxygen, engine needs lower amount of air, so it gives, for the same fuelling system, lean mixture. It causes higher temperature of exhaust gases and a bit higher exhaust losses

Opis:
Mining machinery and equipment belong to the group of special machines working in extreme conditions. Mining machines are used in difficult conditions such as limited supplies of fresh air, heat from the rock, in places with high humidity and heavy dust. In other specifics related to the extraction process is brine, harmful compounds such as sulphur dioxide, or rock debris raining down. The machines are operated in continuous mode, the clock. Working in mining conditions machines are exposed to frequent breakdowns and malfunctions. Identifying of failure diesel engines can be cumbersome in these conditions and time-consuming, leading to longer downtime, thereby reducing operating efficiency and increased cost. Therefore, in the paper was a review and analysis methods for the diagnosis of internal combustion diesel engines used in machines built and used to power machines in underground mining. On the basis of diagnostic testing was performed analysis of cases occurring malfunctions and failures.
