    Opis:
    This paper describes a set of visual tasks performed with a goal to find a correlation between observer's preoccupation and the observation time. Several aspects of objects differentiation were investigated: shape complexity, colour, uniqueness and size. Four visual tasks were performed by 10 volunteers. The eyeball position was captured with use of the OBER 2 eyetracker based on the infrared beam reflection measurements. Finally the recorded eyeball traces were subject of statistical processing. Interesting findings are the high attractiveness of complicated shapes and no influence of object's size on the observation time. Another result is an unexpected high inter-observers variation of attention difference in each visual task. The results play a key role in our research on perceptual model of biomedical signals and images. The other applications may be found in the area of visual information usability, ergonomics or perception-like control of automated visual systems.

    There are many Eastern Orthodox church buildings throughout the Lublin Province. Over the years, these architectural objects have undergone multiple transformations, both in terms of changing religious denominations and rituals and also adaptation to new functions, such as warehousing. This article classifies and presents the transformations carried out in selected Eastern Orthodox churches in the Lublin province. By using comparative analysis of the buildings’ primary condition and their current state, it was possible to identify the risks and opportunities arising from the process of adapting these buildings and their rich historical background. Additionally, the article includes a subjective assessment of the adaptation works and their influence on the physical form of the Eastern Orthodox churches examined. To present the adaptation methods currently applied to religious buildings located in Poland, this article focuses on examples of already-transformed properties that used to have a religious function in the past, but that have now been turned into commercial properties.
    Na obszarze województwa lubelskiego ulokowanych jest szereg zabudowań cerkiewnych, co stanowi niezaprzeczalny, ale niewystarczająco rozpropagowany walor opisywanego terenu. Warte docenienia obiekty architektoniczne na przestrzeni lat podlegały wielokrotnym przekształceniom zarówno w zakresie zmiany wyznania i obrządków religijnych, którym miały służyć, jak również daleko idącym adaptacjom na funkcje użytkowe, w tym, przykładowo, na obiekty magazynowe. Celem artykułu jest klasyfikacja i opis przekształceń, którym podlegały wybrane zabytkowe cerkwie z obszaru województwa lubelskiego. Poprzez analizę porównawczą pierwotnych form opisywanych obiektów z ich stanem obecnym wskazane zostały zagrożenia oraz szanse, płynące z procesów adaptacji zabudowań o bogatym rysie historycznym. Zaproponowana została subiektywna ocena słuszności przeprowadzania działań adaptacyjnych oraz ich wpływu na formę obiektów cerkiewnych. Przytoczone zostały także przykłady zabudowań, które poddano procesom przekształceń, skutkującym zmianą funkcji, również z funkcji sacrum na funkcję komercyjną.

    Small towns in the Lublin Province are abundant with buildings possessed of outstanding historical and architectural values, representing the culture of past generations. Piaski, about 30 km east of Lublin, also boasts some of the remarkable characteristic of small towns. Not only does it feature post-Jewish tenements, but also a palace and complexes of religious buildings situated on its outskirts. This article focuses on the Kościelec - an unused, dilapidated former Protestant church. Now, works are being carried out that have inspired the Piaski town authorities to try to find a best-use scenario for the former church, in order to preserve its architectural values for future generations. The authors of this article aim to prove the necessity of research and analysis in finding the best new functions for properties whose function has already been imposed. The example of successfully completed revitalisation works at the palace and park complex in Gardzienice, located not far from the baroque Protestant church in Piaski, illustrates the advantages of some of the adaptation processes that can be employed in such buildings.
    Niewielkie miejscowości województwa lubelskiego obfitują w pokaźną ilość obiektów o znaczących walorach architektonicznych jak również historycznych świadczących o kulturze zaprzeszłych pokoleń. Piaski, miasto znajdujące się na wschód od Lublina, również może poszczycić się wartymi propagowania budynkami charakterystycznymi dla niewielkich ośrodków miejskich. Mowa tutaj nie tylko o kamienicach pożydowskich jakie znajdują się w tym pożydowskim miasteczku ale również występujących na jego obrzeżach założeniach pałacowych czy sakralnych. W artykule skoncentrowano się na obiekcie sakralnym - dawnym zborze kalwińskim, który nieużytkowany popada w ruinę. Aktualnie prowadzone przez miasto prace odnośnie dawnego zboru Kościelec stały się katalizatorem do poszukiwania najlepszej możliwej funkcji użytkowej, która powinna się znaleźć w opisywanym obiekcie tak, by umożliwić zachowanie jego wartości architektonicznych dla przyszłych pokoleń. Autorzy niniejszego artykułu pragną również dowieść konieczność prowadzenia tego typu badań oraz analiz wśród lokalnych społeczności prowadzących ku znalezieniu najlepszej funkcji dla obiektów o narzuconej formie architektonicznej. Podając przykład udanej rewitalizacji zespołu pałacowo-parkowego w Gardzienicach położonego niedaleko od barokowego zboru w Piaskach, w niniejszym artykule przedstawione zostają pozytywne skutki towarzyszące procesom adaptacyjnym jakim może zostać poddana wartość architektoniczna.

    Introduction: School anxiety has become a common problem in children and adolescents. Despite numerous studies, it is difficult to definitely identify the cause of neurotic disorders in school-age children. The objective of the presented study was to assess the prevalence of neurotic disorders in rural schoolchildren and the role of physical activity as a method to support their treatment. Material and methods: The study consisted of 123 girls and 117 boys living in rural areas of Wielkopolska. A questionnaire was provided evaluating family status, family relationships, school situation, somatic symptoms related to being at school, and the frequency of physical activity. Results: It was found that over the 50% of children considered the relations with siblings as correct, but also acknowledged that there were a conflict situations in their relationship. Nearly 25% of children indicated an emotional irrelevance with their parents. About 20% of the young people did not like going to school or were afraid to stay there. Over the 50% of children declared somato-emotional problems associated with the being at school. The symptoms of neurotic disorders were more strongly expressed and more common in girls. Analysis of physical activity indicated that only a small group of young people practiced sport regularly, and an even smaller percentage of children exercised with their parents and/or peers. Conclusions: The development of somatic and emotional disturbances in children may be associated with irregular family and school relationships and low physical activity. It was found that gender had a significant influence on most of the studied parameters.
