Opis:
The demand for more complex but also more reliable and correct computer based systems on the one hand, and the fact that several changes in the user requirements through the development cycle on the other hand, leads to the need for more formal but also agile development methodologies. X-Machines is an intuitive formal method which can be easily applied to agile methodologies, especially in specification phase, gaining a lot of advantages.
X-Machines to intuicyjne formalne metody, które można łatwo zastosować wraz z metodami Agile, zwłaszcza w fazie specyfikacji wymagań, osiągając wiele zalet.

Opis:
A new thermographic method that enables simultaneous accelerated determination of the fatigue limit and the S-N curve was presented in this paper. The fatigue limit determination method was based on a constant rate of temperature rise occurring in second phase of the specimen fatigue life. The S-N curve determination method was based on energetic parameter with assumption of its dependency on the stress amplitude. The tests made on X5CrNi18-10 steel under reversed bending revealed that the fatigue limit value obtained from accelerated thermographic tests as compared to the value obtained from full test differs by 5.0 %. The S-N curve obtained by accelerated thermographic method fits inside 95 % confidence interval for the S-N curve obtained from full test.

Opis:
The article presents an accelerated method for fatigue limit calculation which makes use of constant temperature increase rate observed in the middle time interval of specimen fatigue loading. The examination was performed on specimens prepared from drawn rods made of corrosion resistant austenitic steel X5CrNi18-10 (1.4301) subjected to rotating bending. For comparison purposes, the fatigue limit was also calculated with the aid of the Staircase method, using 30 specimens and assuming the base number of cycles equal to 10・106. Three specimens were used for accelerated examination during which their temperature was measured with the aid of the thermographic camera CEDIP Silver 420M (FLIR SC 5200). The applied loads were gradually increased until specimen damage took place. Based on the analysis of temperature changes during specimen loading, the average rate of temperature increase at successive loading stages was assessed. The obtained results were then approximated using the 2-nd order curve and its minimal value was assumed as corresponding to the fatigue limit. The performed statistic test has revealed that the fatigue limit calculated in the above way does not differ substantially from that determined using the Staircase method.

Opis:
The paper presents the results of fatigue tests of specimens with sized rivet holes. Samples for tests were made of 0.05'' (1.27 mm) thick non-clad plates of aluminium grade 2024-T3. Rivet holes were prepared assuming that they shall be used for 3 mm nominal diameter snap head rivets for aviation-related purposes. Different sizing degrees were achieved by drilling holes of different diameters in the samples followed by the sizing process using a sizing mandrel of the same diameter of 3.15 mm. Holes in the test samples were drilled using special device ensuring appropriate quality and repeatability of the holes. Five different sizing degrees were achieved be means of five drills of different diameters. Samples with holes of varying degrees of sizing were tested under constant amplitude sinusoidal loading conditions (cycle asymmetry coefficient R = 0) at the load frequency of 5 Hz. The study was conducted at three levels of maximum stress in the cycle. Fatigue life test results were presented in the form of fatigue diagrams (regression lines) determined in the bi-logarithmic coordinate system log N, log Smax. The results of the fatigue life tests received for the drilled as well as drilled and reamed holes were also presentedfor comparison. The results obtained lead to the conclusion that that the lowest fatigue life characterises samples with drilled holes and drilled and reamed holes. Fatigue life of specimens with holes for rivets improved (by 50% to 74%, depending on load level), even as a result of the hole surface polishing only (minimum sizing degree), whilst the two-fold growth of fatigue life was achieved for holes of a slight sizing degree. A further significant increase in fatigue life was achieved by the cold work of the hole's surface. Based on the location of the fatigue diagrams and the fatigue life tests results, it may be concluded that the higher a sizing degree, the higher the fatigue life growth. The growth is also proportional to the specimen load level: the lower the load level, the higher the fatigue life growth. Fatigue diagrams obtained from tests were divided into three groups: diagrams for drilled holes and drilled and reamed holes, diagrams for holes with a low degree of sizing and diagrams for holes with a high degree of sizing. This division was confirmed by statistical tests of regression lines parallelism by the “peer-to-peer” method.

This paper presents results of monotonous tensile tests of 0.16” thick samples made of non-clad plates of aluminium alloy for aircraft purposes 2024-T3. Tests were performed for samples cut out from a sheet plate in two different directions: in the parallel and perpendicular direction to sheet plate rolling direction, for eight different temperature values from the range 25°C – 200°C. The tests were performed using the hydraulic-drive testing machine INSTRON 8502 equipped with thermal chamber. The analysis of results included changes of basic strength-related parameters depending on temperature. It was also observed that the intensity of Portevin-Le Châtelier [PLC) effect depends on the temperature.

Opis:
Introduction. Probiotics are live microorganisms which, administered in appropriate amounts, have a beneficial effect on human health. Food products that contain these microorganisms are known as natural probiotics. Probiotic food include the group of dairy products in which fermented milk products are majority. Objective. The aim of the study is to review current data and summarize knowledge on the effects of consumption of dairy probiotics on human health. The review also aims at discussing the potential of these health-supporting microorganisms as a prevention factor against civilization diseases. State of knowledge. Consumption of probiotic food, especially natural dairy probiotic food, may have a positive effect on health due to the presence of probiotic bacteria or by the presence of their metabolites (postbiotics) demonstrating bioactive effects. The intake of these products is associated with the improvement of parameters such as lipid profile, insulin sensitivity, cardiovascular risk parameters, or presents protective effect on bones. Studies show a correlation between the consumption of natural probiotics and reduction in duration of diarrhea or alleviation of the course of inflammatory bowel diseases. Conclusion. The influence of natural dairy probiotics consumption on the state of health has recently been broadly investigated. Regular consumption of these products has shown beneficial effect on gut microbiota and on a wide range of health parameters. However, further studies are necessary to draw a precise conclusion.

Opis:
This in vitro study evaluated the temperature rise on the outer root surface of the mandibular first molar following root canal filling using the high-temperature, thermoplasticized, Gutta-Percha technique (HTTG) (BeeFill) in the dog. Twelve extracted dog mandibular first molars were used. After root canal preparation, the teeth were filled with thermoplasticized Gutta-Percha and root canal sealer. Temperature changes on the vestibular surfaces of the mesial and distal roots of mandibular first molars were measured using a thermal imaging camera. The results of this in vitro study showed that using HTTG to fill mandibular first molars in dogs produces a safe temperature rise on the root surface and, therefore, should not damage the periodontal ligament and/or surrounding tissues.
