Opis:: The aim of this paper was to find an answer to the question about the possibility of using steel welded mesh in building the retaining walls of gabion baskets. In light of the currently used gabion structure solutions, among which double-woven mesh is much more popular, the focus was put on the possibility of using welded mesh. A numerical analysis was conducted to examine the behavior of welded and woven mesh subjected to various loads and the results obtained for both types of mesh were directly compared. The maximal displacement in mesh nodes was admitted as the measurement of the system behavior (in the case of both undamaged and damaged mesh).

Opis:: The general properties (reaction, organic matter content, sorptive characteristics) were investigated in a light soil fertilized with sludge, in vegetative pot experiments, meant for plants cultivation in crop rotation and monoculture. It was found that various sludge doses and species of plants cultivated in rotation and monoculture exerted a cosiderable influence on the analysed properties of light soil.
W wegetacyjnych doświadczeniach wazonowych, pod uprawą roślin w zmianowaniu i monokulturze, badano zmiany ogólnych właściwości (odczyn, zawartość substancji organicznej, właściwości sorpcyjne) w glebie lekkiej użyźnionej osadem ściekowym. Stwierdzono ewidentny wpływ różnych dawek osadu oraz gatunków roślin uprawianych w zmianowaniu i monokulturze na analizowane właściwości gleby lekkiej.

Opis:: In the project a system was developed, that visualizes real time GPS navigation data over the public security system. Vehicles equipped with GPS/GSM unit can connect to the city security system (tel. 112) via Internet and multiple viewer users can track their motion in real-time. A client-server system passes GPS position data from the vehicles on the GIS editor and vector/raster MultiViewer application.

Opis:: In this study, low-carbon cast steel was reinforced with TiC by SHS-B method, also known as combustion synthesis during casting method. The composite zone was then subjected to surface remelting by Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) method. The remelting operation was realized manually, at 150 A current magnitude. Microstructure, phase composition and hardness of remelted zone were investigated. XRD results reveal that the phases of the composite zone in initial state consist of TiC and Feα. Surface remelting resulted in formation of thick layers containing TiC carbides, Feα and Feγ. Microstructural examination has shown strong refinement of titanium carbides in remelted zone and complete dissolution of primary titanium carbides synthetized during casting. The average diameter of carbides was below 2 μm. The structural changes are induced by fast cooling which affects crystallization rate. The hardness (HV30) of the remelted layer was in the range between 250 HV and 425 HV, and was lower than hardness in initial state.

Opis:: One of the most important aspects related to the proper functioning of prosperous enterprises in the wood industry is to ensure safe and hygienic working conditions. The fulfillment of this condition is obligatory for all workplaces regardless of the field of activity. Due to the specificity of the industry based on wood processing, this industry is inseparably connected with the problem of pollination at workplaces. The chips that are formed during processing make it difficult to work, remain in and around workplaces, creating additional risks and impairing the quality of the manufactured products. It is therefore necessary to apply solutions to eliminate the dust hazard. One of such solutions, belonging to collective protection measures against pollination, are dedusting installations. One of the tools to improve working conditions is mandatory risk assessment. Thanks to its reliable implementation, it is possible to identify hazards occurring at workplaces and take measures to improve working conditions. Proper management of occupational risk is one of the key elements to ensure protection against risks at an appropriate level. The article analyzes the impact of the dedusting installation on the reduction of selected health hazards for employees in the selected carpentry shop.
