Opis:
A successful approach widely used in materials science to adapt approved materials to specific applications is to design their surface properties. A main challenge in this area is the development of processing routes enabling for a simple but efficient surface design of complex shaped geometries. Against this background, this work aimed at the implementation of self-assembly principles for surface functionalization of 3D-printed poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA)-based constructs with macro- and microporous geometries via precision extruding deposition. Methods: Three-component melts from PLGA, CaCO3 and amphiphilic polymers (poly(2-oxazoline) block copolymer) were printed and their bulk and surface properties were studied. Results: Melts with up to 30 mass % of CaCO3 could be successfully printed with homogeneously distributed mineral particles. PLGA degradation during the printing process was temperature and time dependent: the molecular weight reached 10 to 15% of the initial values after ca. 120 min of heat exposure. Filament surfaces from melts containing CaCO3 show an increasing microroughness along with increasing CaCO3 content. Surface roughness and amphiphilic polymer content improve scaffold wettability with both factors showing synergistic effects. The CaCO3 content of the melts affected the inner filament structure during in vitro degradation in PBS, resulting in a homogeneous mineral particle-associated microporosity for mineral contents of 20 mass % and above. Conclusions: These results provide novel insights into the behavior of three-component melts from PLGA, CaCO3 and amphiphilic polymers during precision extruding deposition and show for the first time that self-assembly processes can be used to tailor scaffolds surface properties under such processing conditions.

Opis:
The legal basis for the modernization of the land and building registry is the Act of 17 May 1989 Geodetic and Cartographic Law, which determines how the procedure of update and modification of data, to the form which is in accordance with applicable regulations, is carried out. Maintaining of the proper degree of timeliness and reliability of the registry data is important because of the prospect of integration with the Databases of Topographic Objects (BDOT) and Geodetic Registry of Infrastructural Network (GESUT), in the project of construction of the Real Estate Integrated Information System (ZSIN). Furthermore, the land and building registry (EGiB) plays a significant role in the implementation of most of the processes of real estate management. The aim of the publication is to verify the compliance of the registry data regarding the area and the course of the borders of plots before and after modernization, with the real state in the field. The complex survey of plots before and after modernization was performed to assess the effects of modernization, taking into account the reliability of geodetic works and the timeliness of the registry data. The present study involved updating the course of borders and areas of the plots used solely for agricultural purposes. The object of research represented the complex of 31 plots used for agricultural purposes, located far from the village buildings. The study area is located in Małopolskie voivodship, in the district of Myślenice. In order to verify the course of borders of plots the rapid satellite measurement using the method RTK / RTN with the receiver CHC X900+ was applied. The selected measurement technique is economic and accurate, therefore often used by surveyors for this type of field tasks. The study showed the need for re-modernization of land and buildings registry in the selected area.

Opis:
The aim of this paper is to present the possibilities of using 3D spatial printing technology to create complex models, e.g. turbine helicopter engines, PZL-10W type, operated on the W-3 “Sokół” helicopter. We have presented the process of creating a spatial model using CAD software. It required a careful selection of the parts necessary for its manufacture as well as elimination of minor parts, which were insignificant from the functional and educational perspective of the model. We presented the type of printer which was used to prepare the model, and also its software. The verification of the correctness of designing the files for particular parts was made with Netfabb software. Proper verification affected the choice of files to be sent to the 3D printer software, where they underwent further slight changes concerning, among others, the thickness of the layers and the percentage of filling the interior of the individual parts of the engine. The printouts of the selected engine parts have been shown in the photographs. We also (briefly) described the processes of treatment of the parts, their labour intensity as well as the hardware used on a regular basis for this purpose. Finally, we discussed the assembly process of the entire engine. In conclusion, we stressed the importance of the model as a significant didactic aid which is to support the process of acquiring knowledge related to the construction, kinematics and operation of the turbine engine. We also specified the amount of used materials, labour consumption (in man-hours) with regard to the same printout of the parts as well as the finishing works.

Opis:
Two bacterial strains, Serratia fonticola ART-8 and Pseudomonas putida ART-9, were isolated from soil sown with rye in a monoculture. Although the S. fonticola strain produced more chitinase than the P. putida strain, P. putida produced more cellulase, lipase, HCN, and fluorescent siderophores. P. putida also solubilized more phosphate, and was the only strain to produce pyoverdine. Neither bacteria produced indoleacetic acid (IAA), nor did they produce siderophores on the CAS medium. Neither of the strains was highly effective at inhibiting Fusarium culmorum (~5%) or F. oxysporum (~24%). Wheat plants inoculated with these bacterial strains had higher (5.7-10.0%) thousand kernel weight and there appeared to be a positive association between thousand kernel weight and ear length.
