Opis:
Objective of the study: The study assessed and compared the duration of the muscle activation in a basketball free throw, by players representing a preliminary and specialist stage of training. There was also analysed the accuracy of throws according to the stage of training, and whether individual changes in duration of activation have impact on the accuracy of free throws. Material and methods: Players from national basketball teams second and third league of the AZS Academic Sports Club of Opole University performed twenty free throws shooting to the basket during the research study. During tests, players were equipped with EMG apparatus, which registered the time of muscle activation, when subsequent free throws were performed. Arm muscle (biceps and triceps) activation time was measured from the beginning of muscle activation to the time of completion of their work, and from muscle activation to the time of reaching the rim. Results: Players of specialist stage of training, have 0,30 sec shorter average arm muscle time activation, counted from the beginning of activation to obtain the minimum value, from players of the preliminary stage of training. They also gained average 2 points better result in throw accuracy. Variability coefficient of throws duration was higher by 19.56% at players of the specialist stage of training. In the case of unforced extend duration of muscle activation, 80% of specialists and 40% players of preliminary group, don’t score the basket. Conclusions: It was observed that the basketball players of higher training experience, have lower average time of arm muscle activation. It was demonstrated that in players of the specialist stage of training, missed free throws were mostly caused by longer duration from the beginning of muscle activity to the rim, with players of the preliminary stage it was reverse.

Opis:
Modern technology has created new possibilities for research in the area of regulation and control of movement. The asymmetry of muscle activity and its somatic and functional effects are rarely diagnosed in physical education and the sports activities of children and young people. The authors of this article analyse the problem of asymmetry on the basis of a representative sample of young hurdlers. Hurdling technique used in 400-m hurdles involves, among others, the necessity of clearing the hurdles with the left and right attacking leg. Differences between the two variants are mainly demonstrated based on analysis of kinematic movement structure focusing on movement of lower limbs. In this paper, the authors present differences in upper limb movement at the moment of clearing the hurdle in different forms of training. The application of EMG (electromyography) with image sequence visualisation and registration system was used to analyse the 400 m hurdling technique of eight hurdlers. The hurdlers were firstclass and champion-class hurdlers. The electromyograms concerned the work of 5 muscles of the upper limbs, symmetrically on both sides of the body (deltoideus, pectoralis major, biceps brachii, triceps brachii, latissimus dorsi). The analysis concerned three forms of hurdle training related to hurdle clearance first with the right and next with the left leg in three intensities: marching, trotting, and running at maximum speed. Muscle work on the right side of the body was analysed when clearing the hurdle with the left lower limb, and vice versa. All examined hurdlers used the left attacking leg better (regarding the specificity of 400-m hurdling). The analysis showed significant differences (p ≥ 0.05) in muscle work of the upper limbs between the right and left side of the body in respective forms of hurdle training. The right upper extremity muscle activity of three repetitions showed high correlation (r=0.89) for each performed movement form. Such relationships were not found on the left side of the body when attacking the hurdle with the right leg. Although asymmetry is inevitable in the process of lateralization of the human body, teachers at the primary stage of education should make every effort to alleviate disorders of muscle activity and dysfunction of the skeletal system. This is particularly significant in the disciplines in which it is possible to use symmetrical exercises, as a stimulus for relaxation and to avoid monotony when training children and adolescents.

Opis:
The aim of conducted research was an attempt to define the dynamics of aerobic and anaerobic endurance changes in the short track female competitors training during a year cycle which is dependent on the energy characteristic of training burden. Nineteen female competitors of OMKŁS Opole club and KU AZS PO Opole, were put through the examination. Eight of them were members of National Team and Olympic Team (Vancouver 2010), moreover, the competitors participated in the World Cup, World Championship, European Championship. The other examined competitors were members of National Team. With the help of terrain and laboratory tests, an official record was made on every lap time, final time of every trial, HR max and HR medium as well as the concentration of lactate in blood in fourth minute after an effort. In the thirtieth minute, after an effort, HR and lactate concentration were registered in order to define the course of restitution. Anaerobic and mixed parameters were examined by the Wingate test in 7.5% load formula of body weight. The results of researches proved that a selection of applied training burdens was not conductive to the adaptation of process according to the Mathews, Fox model (1976). In the short track, a training burden should reflect the specific of an effort in this discipline, emphasising an anaerobic energy type in a year cycle of preparations.
