Opis:
Heavy-duty, oil-cooled brake discs (MMOTs) are often used in heavy-duty brake systems manufactured by companies such as Caterpilar, Clark, Komatsu and Liebherr. These discs are usually made of special steels, and in most cases, the flatness of the working surfaces should not exceed 0.15–0.30 mm. Although the technological processes of friction disc production include several stages of heat treatment and grinding, the required accuracy is not achieved in some cases. In addition, the remaining residual stresses lead to the deformation of the discs during their lifetime. In production practice, three methods are used to reduce residual stresses: thermo-fixing, dynamic stabilisation and vibratory stabilisation consisting in bringing discs to transverse resonance vibrations and maintaining resonance until significant stress reduction. The article proposes a method of stabilising the discs using the resonance phenomenon at the first few frequencies. In this article, Cauchy’s function method and characteristic series method are used to develop solution value problem for clamped circular plates with discrete inclusions as concentrated masses and springs. Calculation methods for quick estimation of the own frequency of discs with additional ring mass enabling the use of low power vibration inductors are presented. The use of a special membrane and a pneumatic cushion in the construction of the stand allows to induce vibrations of higher frequencies.

Sexuality is a significant pillar of a romantic relationship, and sexual satisfaction is closely related to the stability of the relationship as well as satisfaction associated with it. The aim of this paper was to briefly characterize the sex life of Poles, especially regarding safe sex, sexual assertiveness and satisfaction with sexual life. A Poland-wide on-line survey was conducted between January and March 2019. 2205 anonymous answers were analyzed. To compare the knowledge of heterosexual and non-heterosexual persons, medical students were excluded from both groups. We identified three studied populations: heterosexuals excluding medical students, non-heterosexuals excluding medical students and medical students. Participants were asked for taking a stance to a few statements. The majority of respondents declared that their sexual contacts are always as safe as they want and they can easily refuse sexual contact with another person. Furthermore, most of the respondents were also satisfied with their sex life, especially the group of medical students.

The first people were infected with HIV in the early twentieth century. However, due to the non-specific clinical symptoms and long asymptomatic period of infection, the world became aware of the virus only many years later. HIV testing is one of the basic elements of HIV prevention. Other elements include the use of condoms, pharmacological prophylaxis and, in the case of infection, antiretroviral treatment. Knowledge of places where it is possible to get tested for HIV in a free way and basic information about tests seem to be important in reducing HIV transmission. In this work respondents from Poland were asked a few questions about HIV testing.

Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) spread through sexual contact and can be responsible for many clinically significant complications, such as pelvic inflammatory disease, infertility, ectopic pregnancy, fetal or neonatal death, premature delivery and increased susceptibility to HIV infection. Worldwide, millions of cases of STIs, such as chlamydia, syphilis or gonorrhoea occur every year, and hundreds of millions of people are currently infected. Some STIs can be cured following appropriate therapy. Others cannot be completely cured, but medicines can be used to manage symptoms and prevent ongoing transmission. According to the World Health Organization, STIs are one of the five types of diseases for which adults most commonly seek medical support worldwide. In this paper, we present the results of the analysis of data collected in Poland on the awareness of Polish society about sexually transmitted infections.

Oral cavity lesions are amongst the earliest manifestations of HIV-infection. Thorough examination of oral cavity as well as awareness of associations between specific symptoms and HIV-infection can lead to early diagnosis of this life-long disease. Consequently, early diagnosis of HIV infection allows for prompt introduction of antiretroviral therapy allowing to improve patients’ quality of life, their life expectancy but also reducing the risk of transmission. Therefore, raising awareness on oral cavity disorders suggestive of HIV-infection among general physicians and dentists is of a great importance. In this article we described the most common oral cavity manifestations associated with HIV infection including: oral candidiasis, hairy leukoplakia and Kaposi’s sarcoma in detail.

Opis:
INTRODUCTION: ChatGPT is a language model created by OpenAI that can engage in human-like conversations and generate text based on the input it receives. The aim of the study was to assess the overall performance of ChatGPT on the Polish Medical Final Examination (Lekarski Egzamin Końcowy – LEK) the factors influencing the percentage of correct answers. Secondly, investigate the capabilities of chatbot to provide explanations was examined. MATERIAL AND METHODS: We entered 591 questions with distractors from the LEK database into ChatGPT (version 13th February – 14th March). We compared the results with the answer key and analyzed the provided explanation for logical justification. For the correct answers we analyzed the logical consistency of the explanation, while for the incorrect answers, the ability to provide a correction was observed. Selected factors were analyzed for an influence on the chatbot’s performance. RESULTS: ChatGPT achieved impressive scores of 58.16%, 60.91% and 67.86% allowing it pass the official threshold of 56% in all instances. For the properly answered questions, more than 70% were backed by a logically coherent explanation. In the case of the wrongly answered questions the chatbot provided a seemingly correct explanation for false information in 66% of the cases. Factors such as logical construction (p < 0.05) and difficulty (p < 0.05) had an influence on the overall score, meanwhile the length (p = 0.46) and language (p = 0.14) did not. CONCLUSIONS: Although achieving a sufficient score to pass LEK, ChatGPT in many cases provides misleading information backed by a seemingly compelling explanation. The chatbot can be especially misleading for non-medical users as compared to a web search because it can provide instant compelling explanations. Thus, if used improperly, it could pose a danger to public health. This makes it a problematic recommendation for assisted studying.
Ponadto zbadano zdolność chatbota do podawania poprawnego i wnikliwego wyjaśnienia. MATERIAŁ I METODY: Wprowadzono 591 pytań z dystraktorami z bazy LEK do interfejsu ChatGPT (wersja 13 lutego – 14 marca).

Opis:
Efforts of the scientific community led to the development of multiple screening approaches for COVID-19 that rely on machine learning methods. However, there is a lack of works showing how to tune the classification models used for such a task and what the tuning effect is in terms of various classification quality measures. Understanding the impact of classifier tuning on the results obtained will allow the users to apply the provided tools consciously. Therefore, using a given screening test they will be able to choose the threshold value characterising the classifier that gives, for example, an acceptable balance between sensitivity and specificity. The presented work introduces the optimisation approach and the resulting classifiers obtained for various quality threshold assumptions. As a result of the research, an online service was created that makes the obtained models available and enables the verification of various solutions for different threshold values on new data.

Rotational seismology is one of the fastest developing fields of science nowadays with strongly recognized significance. Capability of monitoring rotational ground motions represents a crucial aspect of improving civil safety and efficiency of seismological data gathering. The correct sensing network selection is very important for reliable data acquisition. This paper presents initial data obtained during the international research study which has involved more than 40 various rotational sensors collected in one place. The key novelty of this experiment was the possibility to compare data gathered by completely different rotational sensors during artificially generated ground vibrations. Authors collected data by four interferometric optical fiber sensors, Fiber-Optic System for Rotational Events & Phenomena Monitoring (FOSREM), which are mobile rotational seismographs with a wide measuring range from 10⁻⁷ rad/s up to even few rad/s, sensitive only to the rotational component of the ground movement. Presented experimental results show that FOSREMs are competitive in rotational events recording compared with the state-of-the-art rotational sensors but their operation still should be improved.
