    This article has a nature of a record. It was inspired by the 200th anniversary of the birth of Stanisław Moniuszko, and its main goal is to reference selected celebratory poems created in the 19th century in order to commemorate the composer. The author of this article indicated how different authors interpreted the ideological expressions of Moniuszko’s music, its sources, and the functions it fulfilled. She also discussed the directions of the evolution regarding how the composer was depicted in poetry, as he was initially perceived as a “native busker”, a Vilnius lyrnik, and a compatriot, and he gradually gained the rank of a folk minstrel and a prophet able to reproduce the “lyrical genius of the nation”.

    Opis:
    The subject of the article is a review of images of Venice recorded in Polish poetry between the years 1829–1870. The paper deliberately stops in the 1870s in the selection of the literary material to be analysed, focusing on the Romantic and post-Romantic tradition. Due to the different artistic value of the works, the author adopted the formula of a historical and literary “catalogue” ordered chronologically and partly problematicised according to the functions which Venetian scenery or culture perform in them. Attention is drawn to the fact that Venetian motifs present in the poetry of Polish artists tend to be related to particular phenomena and topics, such as Byronism, Gothicism, political and national camouflage, love and existential masks, conflict between people and power. The authors referred to in the paper include, among others, Adam Mickiewicz, Józef Ignacy Kraszewski, Zygmunt Krasiński, Edward Dembowski, Edmund Chojecki, Karol Baliński, Mieczysław Gwalbert Pawlikowski, Teofil Lenartowicz, Feliks Wicherski, Teofil Nowosielski, Aleksander Michaux and Wiktor Gomulicki.

    The aim of the article was to describe the collection of manuscripts preserved in the family archives as a memorial to Sabina Grzegorzewska née Gostkowska, a 19th‑century writer, which are currently in the possession of The Scientific Library of the PAAS and the PAS in Cracow. That analysed archival legacy consists of various documents, which include a few letters, several rough drafts with notes and quotations on Grzegorzewska’s philosophical and religious lectures, excerpts from her dissertations, and drafts and fair copies of novels and memoirs. The article presented their content and material condition. The prospects for further processing of that legacy were also discussed. An important issue is the question on the importance of the task for the history of Polish literature of the 19th century, especially with regard to the creator of minorum gentium. According to the author of the article, it would be reasonable to link the methods of the analysis of avant-textes, adopted in genetic research, with the proposals of the so-called cultural genetics.
    Celem artykułu jest prezentacja dokumentów rękopiśmiennych stanowiących spuściznę dziewiętnastowiecznej pisarki, Sabiny Grzegorzewskiej. Zespół materiałów, na który składają się listy, notatki z lektur, brudnopisy i czystopisy rozpraw, powieści oraz pamiętników, znajduje się aktualnie w zbiorach Biblioteki Naukowej PAU i PAN w Krakowie. Artykuł przedstawia wstępnie ich zawartość, stan materialny, związki z wersjami drukowanymi za życia autorki i tuż po jej śmierci, a także omawia perspektywy dalszych etapów opracowywania tej spuścizny. Ważną kwestią jest pytanie o znaczenie podjętego zadania dla historii polskiego piśmiennictwa XIX wieku, zwłaszcza w odniesieniu do twórcy minorum gentium. Zdaniem autora artykułu, zasadne byłoby powiązanie metod analizy przedtekstów, przyjętych w badaniach genetycznych, z propozycjami tzw. genetyki kulturowej.

    This article discusses several aspects of Gustaw Waliszewski’s letters to Julian Bartoszewicz from 1853–1855, which today are part of the Archive of the Bartoszewicz family maintained by the State Archives in Łódź. The letters, spanning 163 sheets, have been studied from several perspectives: (a) biographical, which offers insight into the personality of the young man only just starting his academic career, who dreamt of becoming the “national Thierry”; (b) genetic, which treats the letters as material documenting the creative process associated with historical studies and writing columns for the Dziennik Warszawski periodical, and which described the beginner scholar’s struggles with censorship limitations; and (c) that of press research – related to the broadly discussed in the letters topics of the development of the Dziennik Warszawski, its rivalry with the Gazeta Warszawska, and the fight for influence in the countryside. A series of memoir articles by Julian Bartoszewicz devoted to Waliszewski offer additional context; they complement the whole in the place of the lost set of Bartoszewicz’ responses to Waliszewski.
    Artykuł dotyczy kilku aspektów korespondencji Gustawa Waliszewskiego, skierowanej do Juliana Bartoszewicza w latach 1853–1855 i stanowiącej obecnie część Archiwum rodziny Bartoszewiczów z Archiwum Państwowego w Łodzi. Listy, obejmujące 163 karty, scharakteryzowane zostały z kilku perspektyw: a) biograficznej, która daje wgląd w osobowość młodego, ledwie zaczynającego karierę naukową człowieka, marzącego o karierze „narodowego Thierry’ego”; b) genetycznej, która listy traktuje jako materiał dokumentujący proces twórczy nad studiami historycznymi i felietonami dla „Dziennika Warszawskiego”, a także opisuje zmagania debiutanta z ograniczeniami cenzuralnymi; c) prasoznawczej – związanej z obszernie eksplorowaną w listach tematyką rozwoju „Dziennika Warszawskiego”, jego rywalizacji z „Gazetą Warszawską” i walki o wpływy pisma na prowincji. Dodatkowym kontekstem staje się cykl artykułów wspomnieniowych poświęconych Waliszewskiemu autorstwa Juliana Bartoszewicza, które stanowią swoiste dopełnienie niezachowanego bloku listów Bartoszewicza do Waliszewskiego.

    The military, like other organisations in the public and business sectors, is subject to continuous staff development, particularly in the areas of technology and engineering. The aim of the article is to present a strategic approach to the delivery of training in the Armed Forces with a particular focus on the specifics of technical training. The material presents a perspective on the needs of soldiers in the implementation of technical training, which were identified in the framework of the research conducted by the interdisciplinary team of the SZKOLTECH 4.0 project. The utilitarianism of the study stems from the possibility of its use by the military to determine the standard of training of personnel (users, maintenance) by suppliers of military equipment.
    Wojsko, podobnie jak inne organizacje sektora publicznego i biznesowego podlega ciągłemu doskonaleniu kadry, szczególnie w obszarach techniki i technologii. Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie strategicznego podejścia do realizacji szkoleń w Siłach Zbrojnych ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem specyfiki szkoleń technicznych. W materiale przedstawiono perspektywę potrzeb żołnierzy w zakresie realizacji szkoleń technicznych, które zostały zidentyfikowane w ramach przeprowadzonych badań przez interdyscyplinarny zespół projektu SZKOLTECH 4.0. Utylitaryzm opracowania wynika z możliwości jego wykorzystania przez wojsko do określenia standardu szkolenia personelu (użytkowników, obsługi serwisowej) przez dostawców sprzętu wojskowego.

    Purpose: The military, like other public and business sector organisations, is subject to continuous personnel improvement, especially in the areas of technology and engineering. The aim of the article is to present the specifics of the technical training process in the army and the possibilities of its improvement based on the analysis of soldiers' needs. Design/methodology/approach: The article presents the link between the process of technical training in the army and the implementation of strategic, operational and tactical objectives and then identifies areas for improvement from the perspective of the direct recipient, which is the user of military equipment. Findings: Based on the barriers to the acquisition of technical knowledge identified in the study, an assessment of the methods and tools supporting technical training, and the expected methodology for conducting them, it was determined that the standard of technical training in the army should be enriched with a training closure stage that takes into account changes in the military unit caused by the purchase of new equipment. Originality/value: The utilitarianism of the study stems from the possibility of its use by the military to determine the way in which military equipment suppliers train their personnel (users, service personnel). As a whole, the material can be an important contribution to the development of a standard of technical training requirements for suppliers of security and defence equipment.
