Opis:
In this article, a higher education institution (HEI) is analysed as an organisation performing under change conditions. In this context, needs and expectations of a wide range of university stakeholders are analysed. The aim of this article is to indicate the roles of stakeholders leading to the development of an HEI. Although Ishikawa’s cause-and-effect diagram is used when identifying possible causes of a problem, it can also be seen as a method that allows splitting the subject into separate parts, which are causally interrelated. During the research of the activity fields of the HEI and the boundaries related to its surrounding groups, the connections between different groups, their interests and expectations towards the activities of the HEI were determined. The article is prepared using the theoretical-analytical approach. It contains the analysis of the literature on HEI stakeholders, quality management systems and issues concerning the organisational development. The conclusions include insights and suggestions for further research on the ways an HEI can correspond to the needs of stakeholders.

By analysing the processes of clusterization and networking, attention is drawn to the necessity of integration of railway transport into the intermodal or multimodal transport chain. One of the most widespread methods of combined transport is interoperability of railway and road transport. The objective is to create an uninterrupted transport chain in combining several modes of transport. The aim of this is to save energy resources, to form an effective, competitive, attractive to the client and safe and environmentally friendly transport system (Vasiliauskas, 2004). Under the modern conditions of globalization and integration into the European Union, the processes of networking are becoming increasingly more important, as perspective processes and the ones meeting the modern trends of development in various areas. In the context of intensive changes in the life of the society and business development processes, networking processes inevitably make influence on intermodal transportation. Therefore, the processes of clusterization, networking and integration have a significant impact on international economic area, including the development of a single social, scientific and technological advance, information and transport system.

In the real estate sector, especially in construction or purchasing of commercial buildings, adequate evaluation of market development and property management is of paramount importance. In this paper, application of mathematical modelling to evaluating the efficiency and risk of investment projects is discussed. Most of the microeconomic models are discrete, implying that the initial data and the results obtained are discrete values. In the suggested model, the most likely variability intervals of the parameters are taken as the basis of modelling. The models suggested in the present paper deal with local investment problems, which should be promptly solved in the presence of a great number of alternative investment possibilities. The modelling is aimed at determining zones related to the quality of decisions in the area of investment. The principles of mathematical modelling and determination of various financial risk zones are described. An example of determination of risk zones of investments in Vilnius are presented.

Opis:
The effect of market regulation tools on business is a complex phenomenon, and the impact of such regulation could be both positive and negative. The enhancement of the positive effect is a scientific task which requires a systematic approach. In order to find a solution to this problem it is necessary: a) to identify the relevant factors; b) to make a coherent evaluation of these factors and their influence on the phenomenon under investigation; c) to establish the optimal form and extent of the SRB (State Regulation of Business) tool required for the achievement of the desired results. The study analyses aims of economic regulation and business management from the point of view of a state. The research focuses on problems caused by state subsidies for business enterprises as one of the forms of SRB. The research also aims to enhance the effectiveness of business regulation. The main objects of this study are: state subsidies for business enterprises as a form of state intervention in the market and the possible correlation between the characteristics of subsidies and their impact on business. The evaluation presented in this study proved that EU subsidies have had a direct positive influence on the expected effect. The analysis revealed that rate of subsidies has had a higher effect on SRB impact than the size of funding.

Due to the growing scales of business and internationalisation, the issue of the office lease is becoming more and more relevant for companies. They are becoming an inherent part of business, on which the results of the commercial activity depend. Currently existing methodologies for the assessment of the office lease options are imperfect as they lack complexity; they are not associated with the objective of the lease – the improvement of the business results; the methods of the quantitative assessment of lease options are far from perfect. The paper aims at formulating the hierarchical indicator system of commercial real estate facilities (offices) adjusted for the multi-criteria assessment and at calculating the lease options based on this indicator system. To achieve this goal, the following methods have been used: scientific literature analysis and multi-criteria assessment methods.
