Opis:
The present research has the objective of identifying the characterization and management of textile solid waste generated in clothing manufacturing within a local productive arrangement (LPA) in Brazil. The importance of this research consists in the data presentation and survey which indicate the scenario of textile solid waste, enabling the promotion of appropriate and sustainable management actions for these materials. Thus it is exploratory research with a qualitative and quantitative approach. After analysing the data, the main characteristics, dimensions and management practices of textile solid waste in these industries are presented. The research results point out a considerable amount of textile solid waste that is generated and appropriate practices for the management of such waste. Nevertheless there is a need for improvement of this process aiming at enhancement opportunities of the materials mentioned as raw material in the development of the same products or other segments, in order to promote sustainable action.
Artykuł ma na celu charakteryzację odpadów generowanych podczas produkcji odzieżowej w obszarze lokalnego zgromadzenia produkcyjnego w Brazylii. Analiza umożliwia identyfikację istniejącego systemu i poprawę zgodnie z zasadami zrównoważonego rozwoju.

This study was determined the evaluation of the safety, security, and protection of the navigational trip in terms of safety among marine engineering students as an entire group and when they were classified according to section such as Polaris 3-A, Polaris 3-B, and Polaris 3-C. Respondents of the study were the one hundred twenty (120) Polaris marine engineering students who are currently enrolled in the College of Maritime Education of JBLFMU-Molo for School Year 2017-2018 who were on board or have undertaken the navigational trip and have observed some of the safety and security services on board. The researchers employed quantitative-qualitative research design by Creswell (2013) to determine the navigational trip and observations of the safety and security services on board. Results revealed that the respondents had “excellent evaluation” about the safety, protection, and security of the navigational trip vessel. There were no significant differences in the evaluation of the respondents as to the different sections; no relationships were observed when the respondents’ evaluation results were compared according to sections. The observations and comments cited in this study signify that the navigational trip vessel exhibited safety and security, maintain clean and safe environment, and followed the strict implementation of safety as prescribed by the international standards. The respondents’ comments attested that the navigational ship has implemented the international standard of safety and procedure on board.

Opis:
Background. To evaluate the outcomes of transiliac cerclage with Dall-Miles cable in the internal fixation of the posterior complex in unstable pelvic ring fractures between January 1995 and December 2014. Material and methods. A study of 42 men injured at work with an average age of 35.2 years (range, 23 to 61) was conducted. The mechanisms of injury were traffic accidents in 25 cases (59.5%), crushing accidents in 12 cases (28.6%), and fall from height in 5 cases (11.9%). Thirty-six cases were polytraumatized patients (85.7%). The patients were evaluated using Majeed’s functional score and Matta’s radiological criteria. Results. The average follow-up time was 135.8 ± 45.6 months. The clinical outcomes were excellent in 17 cases (40.5%), good in 19 cases (45.2%), fair in 5 cases (11.9%), and poor in 1 case (2.4%). The radiological outcomes were satisfactory in 32 cases (76.2%) and unsatisfactory in 10 cases (23.8%). All fractures were healed. The sequelae were 3 cases (7.2%) of lower limb dysmetria and 3 cases (7.2%) of chronic neuropathic pain. Conclusion. The internal fixation of the sacroiliac complex by Dall-Miles cable cerclage reinforced with small fragment plates should be considered as an alternative method for minimally invasive osteosynthesis in selected cases of unstable pelvic ring fractures.
