Opis:: Supply of tocopherols in daily food rations of the Wielkopolska Region population was evaluated in regard to the effect of age, sex and the season of the year. Generally, tocopherol deficiency with statistically insignificant effect of the season and sex on the vitamin E supply was found. The age was the only differential factor of tocopherol supply and the brain workers made the population in which the recommended daily allowance was covered in the highest degree. Improper consumption structure of particular fats was recognized as the main reason for tocopherol deficiency.

Opis:: This paper presents recent approaches in soft computing to manage imprecision and uncertainty which appear in software reliability engineering. Firstly, recent approaches like imprecise probabilities, generalized intervals, fuzzy sets and intuitionistic-fuzzy sets are shortly described, and the usage of intuitionistic fuzzy numbers for system reliability computation is shown. Intuitionistic-fuzzy approaches for software reliability growth models are proposed and experimental results are given.

Opis:: The aim of this study was to determine the nutritional factors connected with the prevalence of hypertension in rural and urban areas of Greater Poland. The study consisted of 308 people aged 35-62, with essential hypertension but without any other coexisting disorders. The studied group consisted of 154 residents of Poznań (79 women and 75 men) and 152 inhabitants of rural areas in Greater Poland (78 women and 74 men). Participants were randomly assigned to the study. Nutritional state assessment was based on Body Mass Index (BMI) and body fat percentage. Dietary intake were assessed with a 24-hour nutritional survey from 3 consecutive days. Analysis of anthropometric examination results showed a large prevalence of obesity in the studied group. Moreover people living in rural areas had a significantly higher BMI and body fat percentage than those living in a city. It has been proved that the patients with hypertension consume food with an excess of fat and a shortage of fibre, antioxidant vitamins, potassium, calcium and magnesium. The total food rations of rural dwellers consisted of larger amounts of fat, cholesterol and vitamin A compared to those of city dwellers. Present studies have shown incorrect dietary intake among patients with hypertension, often related to the coexistence of overweight and obesity. Obtained results indicate significantly worse eating habits and state of nutrition among rural inhabitants.

Opis:: In this work, numerical modeling of steady state heat and mass transfer is presented. Both laminar and hydrodynamically fully developed turbulent flow in a pipe are shown. Numerical results are compared with values obtained from analytical solution of such problems. The problems under consideration are often denoted as extended Graetz problems. They occur in heat exchangers using liquid metals as working fluid, in cooling systems for electric components or in chemical process lines. Calculations were carried out gradually decreasing the mesh size in order to examine the convergence of numerical method to analytical solution.

Opis:: The purpose of this paper is to present a novel mechatronic system for gait re-education which consists of a body weight support system (BWS system) and a treadmill. This publication covers mainly issues related to the design and optimization process of a control algorithm dedicated for the unloading system. The proposed control system is based on a fuzzy logic controller coupled with a PID regulator. The optimization of parameters for regulators has been conducted based on numerical simulations in which a hybrid optimization method combining a genetic algorithm with a gradient algorithm has been used. The developed control system has been tested experimentally.

Opis:: The paper represents the results of investigations conducted on the tribological tester T-01 on pinon-disk pair for the conditions of the friction of technically dry. Analysis stereological counterspecimen was subjected from AOC and AOC modified with carbon particles and nano-pipes, that is composites coats. The values of the coefficient of the friction and the parameters of the roughness are presented, to four groups of samples.
Artykuł przedstawia wyniki badań przeprowadzone na stanowisku tribologicznym T-01 w skojarzeniu trzpień-tarcza w warunkach tarcia technicznie suchego. Poddano analizie stereologicznej przeciwpróbki wykonane z czystego APT i APT modyfikowanej cząstkami węgla i nanorurkami czyli powłokami kompozytowymi. Zestawiono wartości współczynnika tarcia oraz parametry chropowatości, dla czterech grup próbek.
