    Opis:
    In this paper the authors present highly accurate and remarkably efficient computational methods for fractional order derivatives and integrals applying Riemann-Liouville and Caputo formulae: the Gauss-Jacobi Quadrature with adopted weight function, the Double Exponential Formula, applying two arbitrary precision and exact rounding mathematical libraries (GNU GMP and GNU MPFR). Example fractional order derivatives and integrals of some elementary functions are calculated. Resulting accuracy is compared with accuracy achieved by applying widely known methods of numerical integration. Finally, presented methods are applied to solve Abel’s Integral equation (in Appendix).

    Opis:
    Commercialisation of the university researches and innovations is an integral part of a knowledge based institution. Thereby, due to the importance of commercialisation, certain institutions are working to speed up the diffusion process and technology transfer of new technology or new products or new services. In the world of globalization, universities are required to get involved in activities to commercialize university research and innovations to industries. It’s important that all activities and organizational structures related to commercialisation of academic research should be managed in a way which should increase commercialisation with minimum negative effect on education and research. It’s also desirable that it should also improve university’s overall capacity to perform different functions. The above mentioned facts make commercialisation of academic research a big challenge for university. The most of work highlights the relevance of collaborative research, contract research, consulting and informal relationships for university – industry knowledge transfer. We present a systematic review of research on academic scientists’ involvement in these activities to which we refer as ‘university research’.
    Komercjalizacja innowacji powstałych w ramach badań jest integralną częścią rozwijających się przedsiębiorstw. Ze względu na znaczenie komercjalizacji, niektóre instytucje działają w celu przyspieszenia procesu dyfuzji i transferu technologii nowych technologii i nowych produktów lub nowych usług. W dobie globalizacji, uczelnie są zobowiązane do zaangażowania się w działania na rzecz komercjalizacji badań naukowych i innowacji na rzecz przemysłu. Ważne jest, że wszystkie działania i struktury organizacyjne związane z komercjalizacją badań naukowych powinny być zarządzane w sposób, który powinien zdynamizować procesy komercjalizacji przy minimalnym negatywnym wpływie na edukację i badania. Wskazana jest poprawa funkcjonalności uczelni i jej użyteczności do wytwarzania innowacji w ramach badań naukowych na rzecz przemysłu. Powyższe fakty sprawiają, komercjalizacja badań naukowych jest dużym wyzwaniem dla uczelni. W artykule podkreślamy znaczenie współpracy w dziedzinie badań, doradztwa i nieformalnych powiązań do transferu wiedzy między uczelniami a przedsiębiorstwami. Prezentujemy popularność tematyki dotyczącej komercjalizacji w badaniach międzynarodowych oraz wskazujemy na wybrane bariery ograniczające rozwój współpracy między uczelnią a przemysłem w kierunku komercjalizacji.

    This paper presents the summary of research activities carried out in Poland in 2011-2014 in the field of Earth rotation and geodynamics by several Polish research institutions. It contains a summary of works on Earth rotation, including evaluation and prediction of its parameters and analysis of the related excitation data as well as research on associated geodynamic phenomena such as geocentre motion, global sea level change and hydrological processes. The second part of the paper deals with monitoring of geodynamic phenomena. It contains analysis of geodynamic networks of local, and regional scale using space (GNSS and SLR) techniques, Earth tides monitoring with gravimeters and water-tube hydrostatic clinometer, and the determination of secular variation of the Earth’ magnetic field.

    Opis:
    The main aim of the experiment was to determine in the laboratory conditions forces acting on the hoe coulter. The measurements were carried out on an abrasive test unit type "rotating bowl" unit using designed and built measuring system. The velocity of the coulter was in the range of 1,11 to 2,22 m·s-1, and the depth of penetration into the river sand was 40 or 60 mm. On the basis of the designated forces a computer simulation of stresses and displacements of the coulter tip was carried out. The obtained results made it possible to know the relation between aggravating forces, velocity and depth of immersion of the coulter in the soil, which can be used to calculate wear rates or the coulter levers strength.
    Głównym celem przeprowadzonego eksperymentu było wyznaczenie w warunkach laboratoryjnych sił działających na redlicę, która przemieszczała się z prędkościami liniowymi w zakresie od 1,11 do 2,22 m·s-1, a jej zagłębienie w piasku rzecznym wynosiło 40 lub 60 mm. Pomiary przeprowadzono na stanowisku, do badań elementów maszyn pracujących gruncie, typu „wirująca misa” z wykorzystaniem zaprojektowanego i zbudowanego układu pomiarowego. Na podstawie wyznaczonych sił przeprowadzono symulację komputerową naprężeń i przemieszczenia redlicy. Uzyskane wyniki pozwoliły na poznanie zależności pomiędzy siłami obciążającymi układ, a prędkością i głębokością redlicy podczas pracy w środowisku gruntowym. Uzyskane dane mogą być wykorzystane zarówno do obliczenia nacisków gruntu na powierzchnię redlicy w celu wyznaczenia intensywności zużywania ściernego jak i do obliczeń wytrzymałościowych dźwigni redlicznych.

    The aim of this study was to evaluate the suitability of thromboelastometry for the analysis of blood test results in goats after the use of hemostatic dressings to control massive bleeding. The study was carried out on 12 goats, 6 animals in each of two subgroups. In all experimental animals incision of the femoral artery was performed, and bleeding was controlled with QuikClot gauze in the first group and Celox gauze in the second group. Dressings were applied for 60 minutes. Blood samples for thromboelastometry were collected from the jugular vein before the incision and 60 min after the application of a dressing. Clotting time (CT), clot formation time (CFT), maximum clot firmness (MCF) and α angle (°) were measured in three standard ROTEM assays (system with generation of reaction curve, numerical parameters and size of the blood clot): intrinsic coagulation pathway (INTEM), extrinsic coagulation pathway (EXTEM) and functional fibrinogen (FIBTEM). Complete hemostasis of the injured femoral artery was found in all goats. No significant differences between pre- and post-incision thromboelastometric parameters were found in any tests in any of the groups, which indicates that the use of dressings was not associated with blood coagulation disorders. This study is the first to describe the use of thromboelastometry in goats for the assessment of clot formation and hemostatic disorders.

    The Department of Planetary Geodesy of the Space Research Centre PAS has been conducting research on a broad spectrum of problems within a field of global dynamics of the Earth. In this report we describe the investigations on selected subjects concerning polar motion (modeling and geophysical interpretation of the Chandler wobble, hydrological excitation of seasonal signals, search for optimal prediction methods), tectonic activity in the region of the Książ Geodynamic Laboratory of the SRC, and finally the new joint Polish-Italian project GalAc analyzing feasibility and usefulness of equipping second-generation Galileo satellites with accelerometers.
